A Match Made in Heaven, the AFL and Me!
As the 30th season of the Arena Football League approaches, I have been thinking a lot about what the league has meant to me over the years. It has been a really fun league to follow as a reporter and as a fan.



Nashville Kats hall of famer Darryl Hammond dies at 50
Former Arena Football League star Darryl Hammond, who played for the Nashville Kats, died Sunday after suffering from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He was 50.






Storm Training Camp Kicks Off Friday, March 17
The Tampa Bay Storm opens training camp Friday, March 17 at Skyway Park (3901 George Road, Tampa, FL 33634) in preparation for the 2017 Arena Football League season.

Brigade to host free agent open tryout
The Baltimore Brigade will hold a free agent open tryout presented by FX Studios on Feb. 26 at Banner Field as they launch their inaugural season presented by MedStar Health in 2017. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the combine will take place from 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

All-Arena Defensive Backs return
The 2016 ArenaBowl Champion Philadelphia Soul today announced that DBs James Romain (5’11, 170, Delaware State) and Dwayne Hollis (5’10, 180, N.C. Wesleyan) have returned to the 2017 roster. This will be Romain’s fifth season with the Soul and Hollis’ third.

AFL Insurer Says No Coverage For Lorenzo Breland's Concussion Suit
An insurer for Arena Football One LLC on Thursday asked a Louisiana federal judge to rule that its policy doesn't cover claims filed by a former player (Lorenzo Breland) over his career-ending concussion, arguing that a pair of policy exclusions apply because the player was employed by the league and has already filed a workers' compensation claim.

Soul sign two from Sunday's Open Tryout
The 2016 ArenaBowl Champion Philadelphia Soul today announced that John Sheehy (6’5, 260, Western Texas A&M) and John Kling (6’8, 320, Buffalo) have joined the 2017 roster. This will be both Sheehy and Kling’s first season with the Soul and first in the Arena Football League.



Baltimore Arena Football Team adds to roster
The Baltimore Arena Football team announced the signings of additional players to their roster for their inaugural season presented by MedStar Health. WR Marcus Harris who played for the Iowa Barnstormers in 2013 was assigned to the team. He recorded 94 receptions, 1,223 receiving yards, and 19 touchdowns that season.



McNeil Returns To Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay Storm is pleased to announce that seven-year veteran center Raymond McNeil has returned to the Storm.
