John Deere Gator Utility Vehicle recalled for repair

(Best Syndication News) - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of John Deere Gator™ RSX850i Base, Sport, and Trail model utility vehicles because the fuel line could come apart and become a potential fire danger. John Deere dealers will be offering a free inspection and repair to remedy this problem.

Around 4,650 of the John Deere Gator Utility vehicles are involved in the recall. Deere and Company (NYSE:DE) received three reports of the fuel line separating, with no injuries involved. The vehicles were sold between August 2012 and October 2012 by John Deere dealers at a cost between $12,900 and $15,500.

Being artistic is automated with the new PowerShot N. In Creative Shot mode, the camera analyzes a photo and creates five artistic photos of the original with varying composition, lighting, and color. Sharing the photo is simple with wireless transmission of the photos that can be sent to various mobile devices. This allows the photos to be uploaded online without delay.

Blizzard Entertainment releasing an Art Book

(Best Syndication News) - Blizzard Entertainment announced that they would be releasing a 350-page book containing almost 800 pieces of artwork from their video games such as Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo. Insight Editions is the publisher of the new The Art of Blizzard book. The artwork will cover some of the company’s never-before-seen work on unpublished projects.

In Southern California, at Gallery Nucleus, a special engagement will be held on January 12, 2013 between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. The event will celebrate the release of The Art of Blizzard book. Over 60 pieces of artwork will be on display at Nucleus until February 3, 2013. A $5 entrance fee at the door will be required, but if guests dress up in costume, they can get in at no charge.

Actress Kaley Cuoco to debut in Toyota Super Bowl Ad

Toyota is also offering a chance for the public to appear in the commercial by posting a photo of themselves on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #wishgranted. The photo could be chosen to appear in this year’s Super Bowl within the Toyota advertisement.

Kaley Cuoco stars in the award-winning CBS TV show, “The Big Bang Theory.” Toyota is not giving out details or specifics about the commercial, but they hint that Cuoco’s comedic abilities make her ideal for the role in this commercial.

New Forever Stamp commemorates 150th Anniversary of Emancipation Proclamation

(Best Syndication News) - Today, the U.S. Postal Service introduced a limited edition Forever Stamp commemorating the 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln signing the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863.

The stamp reads, “Henceforward, Shall be free, Emancipation Proclamation, Abraham Lincoln, 1863.” The Emancipation Proclamation contains the words, “Henceforward Shall Be Free." The stamp’s words portray the look of a poster from the Civil War era.

The emancipation stamp is part of the Civil Rights Stamp Series that acknowledges historical acts of freedom, courage, and equality. This is not the first stamp issued by the U.S. Postal Service commemorating the Emancipation Proclamation anniversary. On August 16, 1963, the Postal Service introduced a stamp commemorating the 100th anniversary of the event.

Honda FourTrax ATV recall announced for Repair

(Best Syndication News) - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of American Honda’s FourTrax All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV). The recall was announced to repair a weld that could come apart on the ATV’s front right and left upper suspension arms. If the weld separates, the driver could lose control of the ATV and potentially crash.

American Honda knows of 10 reports of the ATVs’ suspension arm weld breaking. One report caused the rider to sprain their wrist.

Around 19,500 of the American Honda FourTrax All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV) are involved in the recall. This is an expanded recall, which includes ATVs that were previously recalled in February 2012. The recalled units were sold at Honda ATV dealers nationwide between September 2011 and November 2012. They retailed between $5,100 and $7,600.

Dogs invited to New York Stock Exchange to Ring Opening and Closing Bell

Eukanuba joined Canine Companions for Independence to ring the opening bell. Iams teamed up with Helen Woodward Animal Center to ring the closing bell.

Iams rang the bell in honor of their “Iams Home 4 the Holidays”, which is one of the largest pet adoption drives. The pet adoption drive is in its 14th year. This year the drive is going on between October 1, 2012 and ends on January 2, 2013.

Trampolines sold at Sports Authority are being recalled for Repair

(Best Syndication News) - Around 23,400 trampolines that were sold exclusively at the Sports Authority are being recalled for repair. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the voluntary recall of the trampolines that were manufactured by Sportspower Ltd., of Hong Kong. To remedy the problem, the company is offering a free repair kit.

The recall was announced after one incident; one of a legs on the trampoline separated from the frame while being used. The problem caused a leg to puncture through the jumping area. The company is not aware of any injuries related to this recall.

The concern is that other trampolines that the company manufactured might have the metal leg move out of position. This can cause the jumping area to be punctured and could lead to a person using the trampoline being seriously injured with penetrating wounds, cuts, and bruises.

Harbor Freight Tools recalls Cordless Drill

(Best Syndication News) - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of around 108,000 cordless drills that were imported by Harbor Freight Tools. The company announced the recall after receiving one report of a drill overheating and burning through the unit’s handle. The complaint also involved the consumer sustaining a minor injury.

The problem with the cordless drills involves a black trigger switch that could cause the 19.2 volt cordless drill to overheat. If the drill overheats, a potential for fire or burn exists.

The recalled drills were sold nationwide at Harbor Freight Tools retail stores, by mail order catalog, and online at www.harborfreight.com, between April, 2008 and May 2012. They were priced between $27 and $30.

Hostess Brands closing down Operations

The liquidation would involve selling off their iconic brands and facilities. The company announced that the bakery operations at the various plants will stop. However, the company will continue to operate Hostess Brand retail stores for several days after November 16, 2012 to sell products that have already been baked.

Only four days earlier, on November 12, Hostess Brands closed three plants because of a nationwide strike initiated by the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM). The company warned workers that if they did not return to normal production by 5 p.m. EST on November 15, that they would be forced to liquidate their business. On the night of November 15, the company decided that not enough of their employees returned to work.

Sears and Kmart announce Thanksgiving Day Doorbuster Sales

State laws in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, and Puerto Rico will not allow for Sears and Kmart to be open on Thanksgiving Day, but will open at 12:30 AM on Black Friday, and in Puerto Rico at Midnight.

Sears stores plan to open their doors at 8 PM (local time) on Thanksgiving Day and will remain open through Friday until 10 PM.

On Thanksgiving Day, Kmart stores will open at 6 AM (local time) until 4 pm and reopen again at 8 PM until 3 AM. Then on Black Friday, Kmart will open at 5 AM and close at 11 PM.
