There are 26 new TV series or season premiers starting in March this year. Here are some of the highlights for 2014.

“Those Who Kill”

The series premier of “Those Who Kill” will appear on the A&E Network on Monday March 3rd. The pilot follows homicide detective Catherine Jensen (Chloe Sevigny) as she tracks down serial killers. She is also looking for the truth behind her brother’s disappearance. She is joined by Thomas Schaeffer (James D’Arcy) in her quest.

Jerry Trainor stars in New Nick at Nite Comedy Series ‘Wendell & Vinnie’

(Best Syndication News) - Actor, Jerry Trainor, who played to role of Spencer Shay in Nick’s “iCarly” TV series, will be producing and starring in a new Nick at Nite TV show called, “Wendell & Vinnie.” The new comedy series will premiere on Nick, February 17, 2013 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

The sitcom is about a 30-year old named Vinnie Bassett (played by Trainor) who is a carefree bachelor until his life changes after he becomes legal guardian to his nephew, Wendell (played by Buddy Handleson). Nicole Sullivan (from MadTV) will play the role of Vinnie's older sister, Wilma, who is not so lucky with romance.

Between 2007 and 2012, Trainor acted in the popular kid's show "iCarly," which lasted for six seasons.

Amazon adds Streaming Video Service for Nintendo Wii Game Console

(Best Syndication News) - Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has launched support for their Amazon Instant Video app on the Nintendo Wii game console. On November 18, 2012, Amazon released the app for the Nintendo Wii U game console and this latest support is for the previous model.

Amazon Instant Video has over 145,000 movies and TV shows available to watch. The app allows Amazon Prime subscribers to watch over 33,000 movies and TV shows on the Nintendo Wii game console. The Prime membership ($79 per year) gives upgrades on shipping and unlimited viewing of specific movies and TV shows.

(Best Syndication News) - Panasonic is launching two new streaming media players that do not have a disc player. The compact players are the DMP-MST60 and the DMP-MS10. Panasonic’s new set-top boxes are similar to the Roku player or Apple TV.

The DMP-MST60 streaming player features VIERA Connect, Panasonic’s proprietary IPTV platform which uses an Ethernet port to connect to the Internet. This model will allow for 3D streaming video and has a suggested retail price of $99.99. To get that price, buyers will need to preorder through their online store. The streaming player allows users to browse the Internet with a web browser. With an Android smart device, users can watch movies, see images, and listen to music with Miracast on a TV set. The user can participate in online video games, music, social networking, sports, and other Video-on-demand (VOD) applications.

Over 1,400 retail stores selling LG TV sets in South Korea will be taking pre-orders for the 55EM9700 TV set on January 3, 2013. Deliveries should start the first week of February. The price is estimated at around US $10,000.

The Roku box connects to the Internet to stream video and music to the TV set. Amazon Instant Video is also currently supported on the Roku. (Best Syndication News) - Netflix subscribers will be able to see the Disney theatrical films during the same period as Pay TV customers starting in 2016. Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) announced the multi-year agreement with The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) today.

The new licensing agreement will commence in 2013 with high-profile Disney direct-to-video new-releases that will be made available on Netflix. Starting in 2016, theatrically released feature films from Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, and Disneynature will become available to view on Netflix on their streaming “Watch Instantly” service at the same time Premium Pay TV gets to air the film. The streaming will be allowed on televisions, tablets, computers, and mobile phones.

GLEE cast to release Third Christmas Album on December 11

The Super-efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) awarded the first-ever SEAD Global Efficiency Medal to Samsung and LG for some of their HDTV sets.

SEAD is an initiative to encourage governments and the private sector to develop and deploy energy efficient products. On their website, SEAD states that they were first introduced at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - a December 2009 conference held in Copenhagen - by U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu and Indian Environmental Minister Jairam Ramesh.

American Idol's Season 11 Winner Phillip Phillips to release Debut Album

(Best Syndication News) - The Season 11 winner of American Idol, Phillip Phillips, will be releasing his debut album The World From The Side Of The Moon on November 19, 2012. The album will include his hit single “Home.” Additionally, there will be a deluxe version of the album that will include three additional tracks.

The album was produced by Gregg Wattenberg (Train, O.A.R.). Phillips wrote and co-wrote most of the songs on the album. He also had his brother-in-law, Ben Neil, play guitar for a few of the songs.

Phillip’s love for making music started when he was 14. He learned to play guitar from his sister’s then boyfriend, Ben Neil. Later on, his sister married Ben Neil. The three of them formed an acoustic band several years later. In 2011, his family and friends suggested he audition for American Idol, where he performed songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Otis Redding, and Wilson Pickett. Eventually he was named the winner for season 11 during the finale on FOX's American Idol.
