Tue, 25 Oct 2016 12:01 MSTDoctor Strange is one of those characters who it wouldn't have been possible to imagine being brought to the big screen just a few years ago, but a string of successes for Marvel Studios has ensured that Kevin Feige and company can do anything they please at this stage. As origin stories go, the movie admittedly follows the basic template we've come to expect, but does so in an interesting enough way that, like Deadpool, it manages to deliver something which still feels relatively fresh and exciting. Neurosurgeon Stephen Strange is arrogant, unlikable, and coldly turns away patients who don't interest him or offer the chance to increase his notoriety. However, after a car accident leaves the wealthy and successful doctor's hands irreparably damaged, he sets off on a journey which ultimately leads him to a mysterious figure known as The Ancient One. It's from here that things get really interesting as Strange discovers that there's a whole multiverse to be
Tue, 25 Oct 2016 11:35 MSTYesterday's pics from the Brooklyn set of The Punisher revealed that Michael Nathanson had joined Netflix's Daredevil spinoff, and now Marvel has officially announced which character he'll be playing, along with 4 other new additions to the cast. Daniel Webber (“11.22.63”) has been cast as Lewis Walcott, a young veteran who has had a difficult time re-assimilating into Civilian Society. Jason R. Moore (“A Lonely Place for Dying”) joins as Curtis Hoyle, a friend of Frank Castle’s and one of the few people who knows he is alive. Paul Schulze (“Nurse Jackie”) will play Rawlins, a high-ranking member of the CIA whose operations in Afghanistan intersect with Frank Castle. Jaime Ray Newman (“Bates Motel”) plays Sarah Lieberman, Micro’s wife (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) whose marriage has made her life far more complicated. Michael Nathanson (“The Knick,” “Wolf of Wall Street”) has been cast as Sam Stein, a Homeland agent who is challenged by his partnership with Dinah (Amber Rose Revah). The likes of Curtis Hoyle and
Tue, 25 Oct 2016 10:55 MSTWarner Bros. has released a brand new pic from their upcoming The LEGO Movie spinoff, which will place the focus on one of the highlights from that flick, Will Arnett's Batman. As expected, this mini-Dark Knight is going to have a lot more than just the Batmobile at his disposal, and this image gives us a glimpse of some of the other land, sea and air vehicles he'll be using to help combat The Joker and the rest of the bad guys in the movie. In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO® Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble—LEGO Batman—stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. The LEGO Batman Movie also stars Rosario Dawson (Batgirl),

The first features Ben Mendelsohn as Director Orson Krennic, as he leads his Death Troopers to the home of Galen Erso for the face-off we glimpsed in the most recent trailer. Tue, 25 Oct 2016 04:22 MSTWhile it's likely we'll see Doctor Strange's next full appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, the possibilities are endless when it comes to the future of Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme after his first film releases on November 4th. Director Scott Derrickson confirmed to Den of Geek that he's been thinking about ideas for a sequel, given his love for the character and the source material. "I love the character, I love the visual possibilities, and I know the comics so well - [the first movie is] the tip of an iceberg. There's so much progress that can be made." Derrickson elaborated that he'd like to dig into a future villain akin to how Christopher Nolan handled the Joker and Two-Face in The Dark Knight, being able to explore that territory with the hero's origin out of the way. "What made The Dark Knight so great was that the origin story of Batman had been well-told, and then it was time to bring in a villain where you

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 19:59 MSTIn a recent interview with Bustle, Aquaman director James Wan shed some light on what we should expect from the King of Atlantis' highly anticipated solo movie. Interestingly, he compares the upcoming 2018 release to both Raiders of the Lost Ark and Romancing the Stone, and added: "I really want to get the classic action-adventure-romance aspect through that, and I think that’s kind of fun." Don't expect your typical movie romance though as it sounds like Aquaman and Mera will have something of a love-hate relationship, something we'll likely get our first taste of in Justice League next year. "It starts off initially with them not quite clicking with each other," Wan explains. "But then as the story progresses as they learn to try and work together, they get closer and closer. I think those stories are always such a great place for a filmmaker like myself to have fun with my actors." "I think that dynamic will be really interesting between the
Mon, 24 Oct 2016 18:47 MSTBefore The Amazing Spider-Man 2 proved to be a disappointment, Sony had plans for a third and fourth instalment along with spinoffs revolving around the Sinister Six and Venom. When those were scrapped, Andrew Garfield found himself without a job, but it turns out that the British actor is perfectly fine with a whole new Spider-Man entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his place. "To be honest, I would not have been able to work with Mel Gibson and Martin Scorsese if I had done Spider-Man 3," Garfield said of his roles in Hacksaw Ridge and Silence (the former is generating serious Oscar buzz, so it's easy to see why he feels this way). "I’m incredibly grateful that I get to now go and watch another man play Spider-Man who I think is a fantastic actor in Tom Holland." That's all well and good, but it still has to sting that he didn't get the invite to join the MCU! If that does bother
Mon, 24 Oct 2016 18:37 MSTNext week's episode of The CW's Supergirl will feature the debut of former Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress Dichen Lachman as the villainous Roulette, who will seemingly manage to subdue the Girl of Steel and force her to compete in her lethal alien fight club along with Martian Manhunter and others. Check out the promo and synopsis for "Survivors" below, and be sure to let us know what you thought of tonight's installment in the usual place. Mon, 24 Oct 2016 16:10 MSTYes, we know Negan dispatched more than one character during The Walking Dead's season 7 premiere, but just in case there's anyone that hasn't managed to see the episode yet we're still operating on SPOILER ALERT mode. AMC has released a couple of "Farewell to The Fallen" featurettes, in which both Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee) and Michael Cudlitz (Abraham Ford) thank their fans for all of their support over the years. It's sad to see these guys go, but the vids also contain a couple of heart-warming and funny moments as some of the other cast members jump in at the end to say their goodbyes. The Walking Dead returns next Sunday night with the season's second episode, "The Well."
Mon, 24 Oct 2016 15:33 MSTEarlier pics from the set of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil spinoff, The Punisher, have mainly featured Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle), but this time we get a first glimpse of a couple of the show's supporting characters. It was previously announced that Amber Rose Revah (House of Saddam, From Paris with Love) would be playing a "highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent" named Dinah Madani, and here we see her alongside The Knick actor Michael Nathanson, who has not yet been officially named as a cast member. From the looks of these images, however, there's a good chance he'll be playing a colleague of Madani's. The pics are copyrighted so you'll have to click HERE to check 'em out.
Mon, 24 Oct 2016 14:44 MSTThe CW has released a batch of promotional images for the upcoming forth installment of Legends of Tomorrow season 2, and they give is a look at some of the characters dressed in Civil War-era garb. It seems Firestorm, Vixen and White Canary are going to have their hands full dealing with a bunch of Confederate zombies (don't ask me, man, I just work here), while elswhere, The Atom questions his usefulness to the team. Check 'em out below along with a full synopsis for the episode. “Abominations” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV) SURVIVAL — When the Legends discover a time Aberration in 1863, they find themselves fighting for survival during the Civil War with Confederate soldiers who have been turned into zombies. Mon, 24 Oct 2016 10:46 MSTLast month, I had the chance to sit down with X-Men: Apocalypse star Lana Condor for HeyUGuys.com, and in the video below, the actress talks about everything from deleted scenes to what's next for Jubilee. Asked whether she would be interested in following the comics by making the hero a vampire, the actress responded: "I think it would be cool, if there were to be more films, to have her as a vampire. I don’t do well with blood, so we’ll go down that road if it comes, but that would be fun. I want fangs!" That would be fun to see, but surely Jubille is actually better suited to New Mutants? “I don’t really know what New Mutants is going to be about. I’ve read the blogs and stuff, but I definitely would be interested if they asked me. That would be awesome. Hire me, please!" If Jubilee does factor into the X-Men: Apocalypse sequel, the actress has some ideas about where the
Mon, 24 Oct 2016 09:30 MSTAn extended cut of David Ayer's Suicide Squad is set to be released on Blu-ray this December, and an image of the back cover art has been leaked online via the DC Cinematic Reddit page. An initial report indicated that we'd be getting 13 minutes of previously unseen footage, but as you can see, it's actually only going to be 11. Considering all the stuff involving The Joker, Harley and others that we know was left out of the theatrical cut of the film, 11 additional minutes really doesn't sound like much, and will no doubt disappoint fans that were hoping for a more cohesive version of the divisive supervillain flick. We also have a full list of the various featurettes that'll be included as special features on the disc. Task Force X: One Team, One Mission – Discover the rich legacy of DC’s most infamous bad guys Squad Strength and Skills – How’d they whip themselves into shape? Get the inside story Joker and
Mon, 24 Oct 2016 09:13 MSTLast night's episode of The Walking Dead saw us say goodbye to both Abraham and Glenn in the most horrifying and brutal way possible. The former was the unlucky victim Negan chose after season six's huge cliffhanger, but Glenn's demise came as a total surprise after a right hook from Daryl led to the villain deciding to further punish the survivors by violently taking out the fan-favourite character. Now, AMC has released a new batch of images from the premiere (via TV Line) which take us behind the scenes with director Greg Nicotero and the cast. Joining those are some official stills spotlighting some key moments, though you'll be glad that there aren't any shots of poor old Glenn with his eyeball bulging out of his skull after being whacked by Negan's barbed wire covered baseball bat, Lucille.
Mon, 24 Oct 2016 08:45 MSTIGN recently caught up with Ben Affleck to discuss his role in The Accountant, and in the video below, the actor delves into a number of topics. As well as revealing that he struggled taking on Jon Bernthal, he praises the actor's take on The Punisher in Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil, and even weighs in on who he thinks would win if the Caped Crusader were to somehow cross paths with Frank Castle. Affleck also jokes about what it will take for him to cast Anna Kendrick as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in The Batman and went on to discuss where things currently stand with the movie he'll star in and direct. "Last night I spent (time) working on the script. I’m in full-on ‘trying to get it right mode’. It’s not the kind of movie that you can fail quietly at. You have to really be sure that I have something that I feel really confident about before we go forward." For more
