Chef goes from South Philly to ‘Hell’s Kitchen’
"I cried myself to sleep on more than one night," chef Christina Wilson said about the pressure of shooting "Hell’s Kitchen," the new season of which premieres on Fox at 8 p.m. Monday.While it was an intense experience, Wilson, of South Philly, who attended West Chester and Temple on basketball scholarships, says her competitive sports background helped her deal with the pressure of competition and cameras in her face all the time.



Tina Fey encourages petition against arts cuts in Upper Darby schools
"30 ROCK" creator/star Tina Fey is encouraging friends to sign an online petition against cuts in arts and music programs in the Upper Darby School District. The district votes Wednesday night on a budget plan that would cut all arts programs in elementary schools in the district, a savings the budget purports to be $3 million.



Celebs flock to Revel’s grand opening, Beyonce concerts
Jennifer Hudson, who co-starred with Beyonce in "Dreamgirls," caught Beyonce’s concert Monday night at Revel in Atlantic City, the fourth straight night of concerts by the megastar. Queen Latifah also attended the show. Kim Kardashian snuck off to Revel to see Beyonce’s Sunday-night concert before her own hosting gig at The Pool After Dark at Harrah’s Atlantic City, along with friend and fellow reality star Brittny Gastineau.



Actor Terrence Howard’s ex-girlfriend accused of assaulting him
An ex-girlfriend of Terrence Howard faces a preliminary hearing June 12 for allegedly punching the actor in the face outside his house last month. On May 6, May Seng Yang, 39, of Plymouth Meeting, showed up at the Whitemarsh Township home of the "Red Tails" and "Hustle & Flow" star and argued with his current girlfriend, Erica Jiles, according to an affidavit of probable cause by Whitemarsh police.



A baby girl, Camryn Drew, for Jimmy Rollins, wife Johari
Camryn Drew Rollins is the newest Phillies fan. The baby girl was born to shortstop Jimmy Rollins and fitness trainer bride Johari Smith Rollins late Sunday night. The little lady weighed in at 5 pounds, 11 ounces.



Pearl Jam, Santigold join Jay-Z at Made in America festival
Pearl Jamand Philly-raised Santigold are among top artists who will perform along with Jay-Z at the Budweiser Made in America festival over Labor Day Weekend. Dirty Projectors, Skrillex, Afrojack, Odd Future and Mike Snow are also performing over the two-day event, Sept. 1 and 2, along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.



LeAnn Rimes No. 1 with a bullet in South Philly
Country starLeAnn Rimes joined her road crew for target practice at the Philadelphia Archery & Gun Club (9th & Ellsworth) Thursday afternoon. Rimes, who played the Keswick Theatre Friday, fired a semi-automatic pistol and a semi-automatic rifle down the range, and spent time chatting up and taking pictures with gun-shop employees. The singer, accompanied by her actor-husband Eddie Cibrian, tweeted photos of herself shooting and said she had a wonderful time.

Former CBS 3 anchor/reporter Tamsen Fadal and husband Matt Titus are divorcing after nearly five years of marriage. The pair started a matchmaking business called Love Consultants, have written several relationship books together and appear regularly on TV talking about love and giving advice.

Made in America concerts, on Parkway, will somehow be ticketed events
How is a two-day concert on the Parkway gonna charge for tickets and keep people from just standing around watching free? We’re still waiting for the city and concert promoter Live Nation to answer this one.
