Sat, 21 Jan 2017 03:57:30 GMT2017-01-21T03:57:30Z

THE EMOTIONS that Joel Embiid can elicit from 76ers fans were on full display in the span of seconds Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Wells Fargo Center.

Despite All-Star snub, Embiid grateful for fan support

Sat, 21 Jan 2017 01:28:09 GMT2017-01-21T01:28:09Z

AMONG OTHER things, Joel Embiid is one of the most competitive people on the 76ers. He didn't win a starting spot for the Eastern Conference All-Star team when it was announced on Thursday evening, but his good-natured attitude won out over the competitor in him when the news came down that he came in fourth place overall in the vote for frontcourt players – third in fan voting, fifth in media voting and eighth among player votes.

'Homie' Saric second among NBA rookies in scoring

Fri, 20 Jan 2017 02:53:02 GMT2017-01-20T02:53:02Z

The 76er nicknamed "The Homie" might actually remind some Philadelphians of some of their homies from the neighborhood. Dario Saric is from the historic city of Sibenik, Croatia, which has a population of around 46,000. Yet the reserve power forward has been the right match for the City of Brotherly Love.

Cooney: Brown not type to blow his own horn over Sixers' success

Fri, 20 Jan 2017 00:47:01 GMT2017-01-20T00:47:01Z

JOEL EMBIID hits a three, deposits a vicious dunk, blocks a shot into oblivion and almost immediately looks to the crowd to encourage louder positive reaction in Wednesday's 94-89 win over Toronto.

Brookover: Colangelo must finish what Hinkie started

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 22:26:01 GMT2017-01-19T22:26:01Z

We have finally settled upon "The Process" that everyone can trust. Regardless of which side of the fence you stood on during Sam Hinkie's ultra-polarizing tenure as the 76ers general manager, we all must agree that the man who nicknamed himself "The Process" is worth supporting and believing in.

Cooney: Veterans making impact on young Sixers

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 18:33:55 GMT2017-01-19T18:33:55Z

THE CAROUSEL of players who have whirled in and out of Brett Brown's coaching world with the 76ers would make anyone's head spin. For a man who came from the model of stability in San Antonio for 12 seasons, Brown has had more than 60 players, sent out 17 or so different starting point guards, a horde of players who came, played, left and were never heard from again.

Donnellon: Embiid a big reason Sixers are turning heads in guard-dominated NBA

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 12:10:32 GMT2017-01-19T12:10:32Z

'IT'S A GUARDS' league," Brett Brown was saying before Wednesday night's game, his most recent attempt to siphon a little helium from the high his team has provided this town since the New Year began. The Toronto Raptors were the night's foe, with a pair of guards who boast 17 seasons of experience and a bounty of accomplishments and accolades between them, and his team was sending out a guard tandem with a total of three seasons between them, not to mention a bounty of lingering doubt.
