Back to blogging on WordPress and some more things

Sun, 05 Jan 2014 06:17:17 +0000

First of all, but actually last of all:, this is my new English language blog, based on WordPress. WordPress is just a lot better for blogs it seems. Live and learn. I'll keep this Drupal site just because it's too much pain to convert everything into WordPress but I might move parts of it to the WordPress sites.

Then last month I started deletionpedia v2 to archive deleted Wikipedia articles.

Working on an SEO tool

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 12:55:45 +0000

Google Analytics ceased to be useful for SEO quite a while ago. Over the past two years I moved my analysis elsewhere. Finding myself doing the same things over and over again in Google Webmaster I decided to automate things a little bit. Things have progressed quickly and now it looks like this:

B2B Pay: international B2B payments

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 18:05:04 +0000

In 2015 I co-founded a fintech company: B2B Pay. We provide global exporters to Europe with a vastly better and cheaper system to receive payments from European importers. We're doing this together with Nordea bank in Finland.

My move to WordPress has proven te be quite fruitful. Not as many long posts as I hoped, but instead I managed to work.

WordPress command line interface

Thu, 19 Sep 2013 09:55:21 +0000

Drush is an amazing tool to manage Drupal installation from the command line. The other day I was once more annoyed at the lack of such tool for dealing with WordPress, more specifically keeping a WordPress site up-to-date. I started coding and quickly I had a couple of useful commands. But then I stumbled upon WP-CLI

Brussels Zen Car not Zen

Mon, 16 Sep 2013 16:42:28 +0000

I had heard of Zen Car before. A system with which you can rent electric cars in Brussels. I had also looked at the prices before. It seemed a bit too expensive, with a registration of 40 euro and between 5 and 9 euro per hour - with the added inconvience that you can only really go 100 km with the machine. Still, I thought it was a nice initiative and in March some people told me there's a special 3 euro deal where you get to try the system for 3 months, including over 100 or so euro credit.

Upgraded to Drupal 7, moneyless

Fri, 30 Aug 2013 23:49:40 +0000

It was about time. I finally managed to upgrade to Drupal 7. It was actually very easy once I had my Aegir setup fixed. I just needed to migrate the site to the Drupal 7 platform. Like often with technology, Aegir can be quite nice when things work smoothly.

Next I have to clean up the site a little bit and customize the Bootstrap theme that I chose as a base theme.

Some new projects: vegan, velo and

Tue, 07 May 2013 11:02:47 +0000

A couple of months ago someone asked me to set up wikis about busking and abou veganism. A wiki about veganish things had been on my mind for a while. I just didn't directly want to register another domain name. I started looking around and found was still free. So I started, a website with information for vegans and wannabegans. It's growing fast and we already have more than 100 articles.

meteor-phonegap and Radio Meteor

Soma FM is probably the best internet radio station around. Actually, the best collection of radio stations, as there are quite a few different channels they broadcast. Unfortunately their website is not so great for quickly listening to one of the soma streams. Until a month ago I usually ended up using some command-line wizardry to listen to groovesalad or dronezone.
