I am a beginner at crochet so this pattern was kind of difficult...the best way I found out to do it was when I chained my 141 I counted 30 chains in on both ends and put stitch markers...then after the first 80 chains you connect at the second stitch mark and do you 30 sc...thank you so much for this pattern I Loved making it

Hi, I am very confused on how this headband is supposed to work. Can you please post a picture of the headband laid out? I think that would help me to visualize it.

"ch80, sc in the 30th ch from the begin of previous ch loop, and in next 29chs,"

So confused......I gave up and unraveled all of it, because after reading someone else's comment about how I could actually SC in the 80th one, then sc in next 29 chs...which 29? I have a loop connected to a chained single crochet foundation....so confused.

Thank you,

Just for inspiration, you could easily make this into a belt if you put a button and a hole on the ends, and depending on your waist extending the patter out a bit. It would be a cute one!

Also, My Heart In Denver - newborn headbands need to be (If I remember right) 12"inches or so. Just chain twelve inches, divive the chain into four parts, and follow the patter like that. Do 12" instead of 141 stiches, and 3" instead of 30", if that makes any sense.

Do you possibly or anyone possibly have the adjustments for a newborn's little head?? Thank you!!

I really loved this! After reading all the comments, I counted backwards from the end of the row and put a stitch marker in the 30th chain. No problems after that!!! To keep it in place, I'm thinking about experimenting with some hot glue dots on the underside of the chain loops and a good blocking to keep them straight. This might be my family's stocking stuffers for Christmas! Thanks!!!

Hi, can you please post a picture of your headband? I'm so confused and just unraveled all of my yarn. I got the first 30sc from there I did the 80sc and from there I just could not figure it out. How do I sc into the first 30th sc loop? Do I join the 80sc to the beginning of that 30th ch loop? Then what? Please help!

Thanks,
Diana:-)

Love this, thank you!!

I think there may be a typo in the pattern though - is it possible that it should read in Row 1: "...sc in the 80th ch from the begin of the previous ch loop"?

Took me a while to figure out your pattern, you said English isn't your first language, so I thought I'd repost the pattern as I now understand it. Hopefully it clears things up for others :)

*Chain 141
*SC in second chain from hook, SC for 29 more (30 stitches)
*Chain 80
*Keep your yarn on your hook, and go back to the very start. Count 30 stitches in, and do 30 SC from there back to the start
*Chain 1, turn
*SC in first SC, and for 29 more (30 stitches)
*Chain 80
*SC in all the SC stitches at the end.

See? Clear as mud :) It's almost like you're only working the ends, the middle strands are just chains.
