Hawk News -- The first one as a blog

Thoughts from along the adventure:
A new Hawk News format is being presented this week -- the Hawk News as a blog. The new format will allow information to be presented in a more efficient manner than an email. The blog format will allow a picture of the week, a survey question of the week, school schedules (exam days, early release days) to be down loaded, and links to important sites. You can sign up to receive the blog through the subscription box located on the blog home page. We will be running both the email and the blog for a while.
The address for the blog is: http://hawknewsblog.blogspot.com
This week, I had the pleasure to lead ten of our students, who attend the Concord Regional Technology Center, on tours of two local businesses. We were able to see the incredible McLane North East distribution center and Marklin Candle Design facilities. Though extremely different, both businesses were fascinating and wonderful to tour.
The feedback from the eighth grade Live as Anne Frank Day was positive. The eighth grade team implemented an experiential educational activity for the students during their reading of the Diary of Anne Frank. The eighth graders spent the day as Anne would have journaling about the experience. It was a powerful experience for many of the students.
Report cards are being distributed on Friday, February 2. The report cards are being distributed to the students, as well as being uploaded to the web. If you want to view your child's report cards through the web please go to www.k12planet.com. Please remember that your login and password were provided on a refrigerator magnet earlier in the year.
Our library's pod casting of Isinglass Teen Read Award Book talks was mentioned in the national publication Library Media Connection. It is nice for Ms. Lochhead's and Ms. Plummer's innovation and hard work to be recognized. Check out the pod casts at the library website. There is a link at the bottom right of the Hawk News blog.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
