Comment on NYC Food Guy’s Cheap Eats: Hale & Hearty’s $4.69 Large Salad by Bnad

How times have changed since 2008. H&H salad with 5 toppings (5 toppings is now the cheap point, cheaper than 4) is now $10.25 before tax, over $11 after tax.

Comment on Bleecker Street Pizza: Nonna Maria Making a case for NY’s Best Specialty Slice by Estela Arroyo

I had the previlage of traveling to NYC in Janury 2017. My friend, who used to leave in NYC took me there to taste their famously pizza the Nonna Maria at BSP. There were a lot of people waiting for the next pizza, but I told the gentle there that I had flown from Dallas just to taste the Nonna Maria. Delighted to know that, he assured me that one was in the oven waiting just for me. Thanks BSP. Best pizza ever!!!!

Comment on Long Island’s Best Food: Gino’s Pizza & Steiner’s Pastry Shop in Manhasset by Anonymous

I am an Austrian who used to live in Manhasset 20 yrs ago. Back home I'm daydreaming of Steiner's pastries and cakes up to this day, because their stuff is better then most of the things you geht arround here. Will visit again some day soon!

Comment on NY Food Tour: Cheap & Authentic Late Night Mexican Food at La Esquina by Susan R

Time to revisit-the new chef revised the menu. Huevos rancheros from the LaEsquina Café has fallen off the list of favorites-that's what happens when you tinker with perfection. And whoever heard of salsa verde made with avacados?

@Frankd821 Thanks for the comment! Definitely a great spot if you're in the hood, happy to know about the new dishes. Great recon! Keep me updated on anything else you find in the future that you think is worthy of a visit!

Comment on The “Pittsburgh” at Rye House attempts to bring Primanti Bros. to NYC by frankd821

Went to a show at Irving Plaza (around the block) and stopped in last night and enjoyed a good meal. Started with a few of the rye cocktails which is not my usual but, when in Rome. Menu has expanded a bit since the posting. Had the Maple Mustard Roasted Brussel Sprouts that also get charred on the grill, they were little balls of grilled cabbage goodness. Also tried the fried Mac and Cheese with some Rye House hot sauce, beware the habanero sauce. Rounded out with the Cuban sandwich, decent and the Pittsburgh, still not a Primanti sandwich but good. Nice atmosphere and worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood. Thanks again NYC Foodguy.

Hey NYCFG - I read an article on Gothamist today about this cheese bread. Quite frankly, I thought your review was much better! You should let them know how it's done. http://gothamist.com/2016/02/24/adjaruli_khachapuri_oda_house.php -Phil

Of the three New Haven pizzerias you mentioned, Modern is my favorite. The place most people forget is Bar (just down the street from the other three). But the real Connecticut pizza gem is Zuppardi's in West Haven. No lines. No attitude. Just a sausage pie that will knock your socks off.
