Many years later.....

It has been so much fun reading this old ratty blog! It may constitute as the only real journaling I did as a young mother which makes me sad but also makes me grateful that I have these memories. I may try to work thru the years but for now I'll post something current. It is now 2014. Our baby boy is 5. My little Lexi is 15 and life is full and busy.

Trying to catch up!!

I'm just going to post some pictures and try to catch up after months of neglect. Life is finally starting to slow down after the many stake activities Jeff and I have been involved with. With two more to go before summer, I feel like I can finally spend "free time" on the computer without feeling guilty.  Below is probably the biggest news to hit the Watts family since January. Lizzy was devastated by the news but quickly warmed up to the idea after I told her stories about my crazy brothers and what fun we had together. According to Lizzy, boys crash into things, blow things up, and laugh at everything. She can't wait and we are all in disbelief that our "sassy sisters" will soon have a little brother.  Now the real dilemma--what to name to poor guy.

 P.S.  Due Date:  September 12, 2009

New Year...New Post

Time to update the blog...wish I had more time to post more pictures and things-but life is busy :) One of my goals for 2009 is to Prioritize what is most important and "essential" before doing the fun stuff. So...if I don't update often (enough) know it's because I'm doing a great job on my goal -- or not :)

More Cute Girls

(image) Here's two more great shots!

Family Pictures

We spent a fun afternoon begging, bribing, pleading with our children to SMILE pretty for the camera. My friend Haleigh took our pictures at Seville Country Club and we got some really cute ones...I guess the "on the count of three everyone say CANDY" worked :) Lacey had the hardest time--if only she understood what "candy" meant!! Before you start judging what kind of a mother I am--look at the pictures--it was worth it.

Kids Korale

My friend Heather puts on a children's music class once a week. This year all three of my girls participated and at the end of the season put on a cute "Elvis" Christmas show. allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' FRAMEBORDER='0' />Here's Lyndi in her musical/dance review!

The next one is of Lizzy. It is so cute. She is my shyest girl. You can see her struggling with wanting to shake it and wanting to run and hide...I was so proud of her for staying up there and finishing strong. Good job Liz!

Thanksgiving X 2

We are so blessed to have both of our families in Arizona. We spent Wednesday evening with my parents enjoying (indulging) a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Mom and Dad went all out and we left with leftovers (love those!)
The next day we took Jeff's family to Seville Country Club for an all you can eat (until you fall out of your seat) Thanksgiving buffet. It was so fun to walk in to a well decorated dining room and enjoy all the festivities of Thanksgiving without actually DOING any of the planning, preparing, cooking, cleaning, etc...EVERYONE should try this(image)  atleast once. I don't know if we'll do it again but it sure was fun. Afterwards we took a family walk around the golf course and the walk quickly turned into a game of ... I don't think it has a real name---boys and balls can come up with any game and have fun-got to love it! (Aren't those clouds cool?)

First Steps

The highlight of Halloween was Lacey's first steps. She crawled FOREVER and would not walk even though I knew she could (13 months!) so our halloween trick AND treat was her first steps---many of them...enjoy the show allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' FRAMEBORDER='0' />

Late update-Happy Halloween

Okay--so it's been busy. Here are a couple of cute shots from Halloween. We spent the evening with some ward friends and had a great time. Thanks Merri for hosting!

I WANT TO SCREAM!!! If you haven't seen the move yet--Don't read! I'll ruin it for you. I went to the 12:01 showing of Twilight with a great group of girls from my ward, mothers, daughters, friends, etc...and gritted my teeth thru most of the film. ARHHHGGGG---why oh why does the movie industry have to RUIN such a fabulous story? Bad music---Bad acting---HORRIBLE Special Effects (my keen eye has been developed from listening to my movie producing sister in law who would have WALKED OUT OF THE THEATER FROM TORTURE!!!) There were some great shots--the arial shot from the tippy tops of trees--very romantic as well. The baseball game in the forest...James was the only believable bottom lip hurts from pouting :) On the flipside--it really was fun to do something crazy like go to a movie at 12:01am and run into lots of people I haven't seen in a while--I even got to say hi to Annie and Rachel who were texting a girl (Ashley) in the theater while we waited. Annie---wait to see it with your man---it's not worth it! You can wait 2 years-trust me. Okay--I'm done belly aching. Sorry if you totally disagree with my "review" It's 2:50am now and somehow I have to tell my body it's time for bed and the girls will be up in less than 4 hours. I have a strong desire to reread Twilight and fall back in love with the story---Oh Bella--Oh Edward---till we meet again for New Moon (which I heard is in preproduction---hopefully they'll get more $$ so the stunts and shinny skin actually resemble something believable...okay sorry- I'm done for now. Good night.

Okay so SOME of you know I LOVE to waterski. Having summer babies (4 of them!) has prevented me from doing what I love so I was so excited to take the Laurel class from our ward to Saguaro Lake a few weeks ago for an afternoon ski run.  We have been taking the youth to the lake for about 8 years and this last trip was the FIRST time I've ever had the chance to ski! I had so much fun showing off :) It was also the first time I had skied since having Lacey so I was a little rusty but wow--the wind in my hair, the spray in my face--I was a kid again. AHHH--I love waterskiing!

Here I go Again

So Halloween has come and gone and I've eaten ALOT of candy--it's my true weakness- like Clark Kents Kryptonite...mine includes Almond Joys, Skittles, Starburst, Butterfingers and Laffy Taffy. I seriously should be sick but I'm not. I kind of wish I was so I would remember how BAD this stuff is for your body. So today I started over on Power 90X. Day 1...again. Wish me luck and if EVER you want to try it out-give me a call and you can come over and do it with me. I'm always looking for a work-out buddy so I'm more motivated to stick with it. Oh and don't forget to vote tomorrow!

Happy 1st Birthday Lacey!

We took a trip to Mother Nature's Pumpkin Patch
Fed the animals, enjoyed the hay maze
and picked out four cute little pumpkins!

More Disneyland from Fall Break

"CINDERELLA, CINDERELLA, NIGHT AND DAY IT'S CINDERELLA" I almost CRIED when Lizzy met Cinderella for the first time. Seriously, it was such an emotional experience for me--which is insane because it's Disneyland--but if this Cinderella had any idea how important she was in the life of my sweet Lizzy-she would have spent the day with us. Lizzy talks about Cinderella every chance she gets. "Is this what Cinderella eats MaMa?" "Does Cinderella brush her teeth like this MaMa?" "I have blond hair and blue eyes, just like Cinderella, right MaMa?" You name it--it's got Cinderella attached. In the Watts home, "We talk of Cinderella, we read of Cinderella and we sing of Cinderella. If there is anything as beautiful, lovely, princess like or Cinderella-ee, we seek after these things (I hope that didn't come across as sacreligious-it's a true statement!)Lyndi and Lexi had the best time hanging out during Fall Break. I saw a new relationship form as they ran from ride to ride. Lyndi is now big enough to enjoy ALMOST all the rides. She and Lexi were tied at the hip. So great to see sisters getting along! This is how Lacey spent most of her time at Disneyland---sleeping wherever she could. Her favorite ride was in Bugs Life. She was able to go on all the little rides in there.  This is how she spent the rest of the time at Disneyland--when not napping or eating: allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' FRAMEBORDER='0' />Sad Lacey--she'll have more fun next year :)[...]

I have a new LOVE-HATE relationship with shopping. I joined this coupon group in August called Coupon Sense. It does all the hard work for you (for a fee) and all you have to do is buy the paper, clip the coupons and shop...sounds simple enough right? The whole strategy is bulk buying items when they are on sale with coupons. Often times you get things for free or under a dollar. I take six Sunday papers so when things go on sale I get six of them--and up. It takes me hours each week and I truly HATE it when I have to sort, organize, clip, reorganize, and shop to find things "out of stock." But I LOVE it when I come home from a quick trip to Frys with $130.00 for 37.58. It's amazing! I even took a picture of my counter to prove it. I average 85% savings on ALL my shopping trips. In 3 months I now have a 12 month supply of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, cereal, granola bars, hey---wait, I don't want to tell everyone what we have or you'll come raid our house!! :) Seriously though, this is exactly why I joined. I wanted an "everyday" solution to building my food storage without spending thousands of dollars. Jeff says the best part is it gives me a "shopping fix" without spending very much money. If ever you are interested in an extremely time consuming, mind boggling, food storage stategy---just ask. I'll tell you how much I HATE it and then I'll brag about all the stuff I got for free :)

Confessions of a Mother

Sometimes, I...Blog instead of make dinner.Wish I could go to the bathroom alone.Hold tight to my children in the hopes they'll stop growing and stay this size forever.Cry because that doesn't work.Ignore breakfast dishes until it's time to make dinner.Dance in the kitchen instead of clean the house.Wish I could have tasted dinner while it was hot, and without sharing my serving.Make lovely dreams for myself, then realize I'm living my fondest dream.Plug my ears because it's just too loud.Wonder how clean the house would be if only I lived here.Know that I'd be lonely and selfish if I lived alone.Feel unappreciated.Realize that's just because I need a nap. Will only give you something if you say, "Please, Pretty Mommy."Will give you what you need, before you know you need it.Wish the diapers would stop.Smile about washing hands and faces.Grumble about washing hands and faces.Try new things for dinner, then wish I had poured up cold cereal instead.Imagine how quick shopping trips would be without children.Look at my sleeping children and wish I had been a better mom today.Feel like the greatest Mother in the world. (After my mother. I'm never that good.)Call Mom to apologize and express gratitude.Wish I was still a little girl in my nightgown, at Daddy's breakfast table.Read books with funny voices.Pray really hard to know what I should do.Laugh because the children are laughing, and I love that sound.Cry because the children are crying, and I can't take it anymore.Wish it was my turn for a bath.Wish I had more charity.Think, "This isn't what I thought it would be. It's SO much better!"Wish I knew what my daughter was trying to say.Scoot the sleeping baby over. It's my turn to sleep by Daddy.Try to hold still and just think. Set a lot of outlandish--but worthy--goals.Feel glamorous and beautiful.Wonder what I can accomplish when the children are grown.Wonder what on Earth I'll do when the children are grown.Wish it would stop.Hope it will never end.And I alwaysWonder what I did to deserve all these blessings.[...]

Crazy California

We had a WONDERFUL time in California. Thanks Mom and Dad for the use of your beautiful beach house.  Only minutes from the beach and we found out this trip only 1 hour from Disneyland. We spent 3 hot, crowded days and the most Magical Place on Earth...or is it the "happiest" place on earth :) Many parents would disagree.
These pictures are all from Jeff's iphone so when I get around to downloading my pictures-I'll post more. Probably not until next week. This week is suddenly turning into quite a busy does that happen?

Bring It!

Power 90 X has been my latest weight loss "hope." 2 weeks into it and so far--not a lb lost. I'm sure I'm building muscle and I am trying to eat a better diet but I just like sugar and junk food way too much! HELP!! Jeff and I have been doing the workouts at night so here I am again at 12:27am trying to find sleep...but sleep isn't finding me :(. So...I'm blogging. Marie-aren't you proud of me? 2 times this week! Now I just need to figure out how to change my background and make it cool like everyone else's. I'm not very savy at this...but I'm trying. I did find this cool website  it's a fitness/diet tracker and it's FREE. You know me and free stuff! So I joined and logged in my 2 days of diet/excercise and it said you will be 119lbs by Oct 15...and I thought WOW!!! That's awesome (because it's like a huge loss from where I am now) and then I realized it was because it was 12am and nothing had been logged in for food for Wednesday because it's still Tuesday--but not anymore because it's morning time I what I learned from tonight was if I don't eat anything for the next 30 days I will loose A LOT of weight :) I might also die a slow starvation-but I'll be skinny. Well...Jeff just caught me (staying up too late AGAIN) so I have to go to bed anyone reading--have a great day...hug your kids, kiss your husband like you mean it and thank your parents for your life...they gave it to you and let you live :) - Kari

Can't Sleep

Do you ever have nights were you just can't seem to fall asleep. Once I'm asleep-I'm good for the night...but as habit continues, I find myself way too awake for 12:35am on a Saturday Night. I chaperoned the stake dance tonight--it was really fun to see 400+ youth dressed up and hyper to stand around a dance floor and do NOTHING. For my church calling, I get to do that every month--and it's always a highlight--to enjoy the energy of this group. Takes you back to memories lived and sometimes longed for. There is an expression I've heard many times, "if you ask any adult if they would ever want to be a teenager again, they would say NO." But you know what? I don't know if that's completely true. I loved being a teenager. Sure life was full of drama and uncertainty but that was part of the "energy" I felt at the stake dance. I don't want to relive MY teenage years but I think it would be fun to be a teenager again (does that make sense?). My parents would probably laugh as they remember all too well the broken curfews, forbidden boyfriends, and dramatic scenes as I tried (very hard) to exert my free agency whenever/however I could.  But I look back on my teen years with rosy glasses and big smiles. I had a lot of fun. I had great friends. But I love, love being a Mom and being married to Jeff. If it meant having to give up my NOW things to relive my youth--I would not/could not change a thing! Not even the mistakes and the embarrassing moments of being 15 11/12 :). There is nothing better in my life than being a wife to Jeff and a mother to my sweet girls.

Women's Conference

My mom and I went to Women's Conference at BYU the end of April. We had so much fun and was exactly what I needed to motivate myself to be a better wife and mother. My cup was filled and overflowed with ideas, support, and most importantly the Spirit. Thank you Mom for a wonderful weekend and thank you Jeff for holding down the fort with 4 little ones so I could enjoy the time away without worrying. You are awesome! We stepped off the plane to SNOW!! I only brought flip-flops so I kept laughing at myself being so unprepared. We froze the first day as we walked to classes in snow flurries but by the second day it was BEAUTIFUL with only snow in the mountains--so breathtaking isn't it? (The mountains of course!)

We had lunch with my little bro. Greg and his wife Sarah and their son Austin-which was really fun. Aunt Jane did a great job speaking on prayer, and Aunt Jackie did a fabulous job on all the quilts for the service project. What neat family we have! We ended up staying the night at Jackie's--their house is amazing.

Besides getting to spend some quality time with my Mom, my favorite moment was standing with thousands of other Latter-day Saint women to sing, We thank thee oh God for a prophet, as Pres. Monson joined us at the close of Women's Conference. It was so overwhelming (in a very good way) to be there--standing as a witness of our dear prophet. The blessing and privilege were mine and I will cherish it forever.
I hope to return again next year-it was amazing!

Here is a very belated picture of Easter. I was going thru pictures and realized I hadn't posted in quite a while. Pretty in Pink :)

Great Weather

It has been so nice lately! Summer is right around the corner but for now we are enjoying being outside in the backyard. The girls spend several hours each day playing on the swing set and trampoline.  I often am grateful to have a backyard where they can go and get dirty--but stay safe  and out of too much trouble.  allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' FRAMEBORDER='0' />

As our oldest, Lexi has had the opportunity to try a lot of different activities. This past winter she participated in her school's running club and competed in four 2 mile races. She also played on a basketball team with her cousin Ashley.

allowFullScreen='true' webkitallowfullscreen='true' mozallowfullscreen='true' width='320' height='266' src='' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' FRAMEBORDER='0' />
I think she has decided that her favorite thing to do is sing Hannah Montana hits and play with her dog Max.
I thought I would have more time to blog tonight--but Lacey just woke up and wants a mid-night snack. :)
