Wed, 14 Feb 2018 20:07:33 +0000

(image) I’m ready to put my thick sweaters away and bring out some cute spring tops!  Found some great spring pieces at Nordstrom and J Crew and wanted to share my finds! ONE \\ TWO \\ THREE \\ FOUR NORDSTROM DRESSING ROOM REVIEWS – SPRING TOPS As you can see it’s still very cold here so I’m wearing my leggings and over the knee boots with all these spring tops!  You’ll have to imagine cute jeans and shoes with these instead 🙂 Love this lightweight sweater and the pleated ruffles are such a great detail. RUFFLE HEM SWEATER Always a fan of bell sleeves and I love this pretty blush color as well.  I’m thinking I will be wearing this a ton in a few months! BELL SLEEVE SWEATSHIRT It’s driving me crazy that I can’t find this top online!  It’s so cute!  I found some similar white lace blouses here and here but I’ll make sure to update the post if I end up finding it. The Secret to Brightening Skin this Winter

Fri, 09 Feb 2018 13:00:21 +0000

(image) Maybe it’s the lack of Vitamin D, but isn’t winter skin the worst? The dryness really kills any glow factor, even if you are managing to eat healthy and get plenty of rest. We all know that exfoliation (AKA skin cell turnover) is the answer to brightening skin, but the real secret is targeted exfoliation. Just like we treat different areas of our skin with specialized products (i.e. eye cream), think about the differences in elasticity and thickness for each part of your face to determine whether you should take a gentle or tough approach to exfoliating. Of course none of this is a hard rule. Adjust to how your skin is feeling on a day-by-day basis, and your skin will never look brighter. Gentle – Cheeks, Temples, & Neck Patyka Damask Rose Toning Lotion: Technically toners aren’t exfoliators, but using a toner on your bare face (without cleansing) in the morning does a good job of acting like one. Just use a luxuriously thick cotton pad to slowly press the toning lotion into the skin to stimulate circulation and remove surface-level dead skin cells. Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub: The key to a gentle physical face exfoliant (AKA face […]

What to buy for out of town guests: Seattle Gift Ideas

Thu, 08 Feb 2018 13:00:58 +0000

(image) This post is sponsored by Bartell Drugs.  All opinions are my own. One of my favorite things to do for out of town guests is to give them a gift basket of local food and products.  Personally when I travel, I love looking for things that are specific to the city as I know I won’t be able to find it anywhere else, so I hope to show my guests all the great things that are made in the Pacific Northwest.  And not only that I’m obsessed with all these brands so it’s not that hard to pull together a great basket made up of all my favorite things as well.  And my favorite place to shop for all these is Bartell Drugs.  I am there at least once a week picking up daily essentials but then when I’m there I love to shop and browse all the great products that they have. Pacifica is one of my favorite beauty brands.  Did you know that they are 100% vegan and cruelty free? I love their makeup but especially love their lotions.  All their scents smell amazing, I haven’t found one that I didn’t like.  They all make you think of […]

Easy Meal Prep Recipe: Eggroll in a Bowl

Tue, 06 Feb 2018 13:00:28 +0000

(image) I can’t believe it’s already FEBRUARY.  It seems like New Years was just yesterday and I was making all sorts of goals (new and old) for 2018.  If you’re like me, you might have had some health + fitness related goals on your list this year (like every year, am I right?).  Since I started my own health + fitness lifestyle a few years ago, I’ve found things that work for me and my busy schedule and others that just don’t.  MEAL PREP is one of those things that just WORKS.  The better prepared I am at the beginning of the week, the more likely I am to stay the course.  But on those weeks that I don’t have time or just decide to “wing it,” I’m 100% more likely to veer off track. Quick, easy and healthy recipe In the perfect world, I would love to spend hours + hours on meal prep, have enough time to workout and take a long shower to release those toxins from a nice long sweat sesh but in reality, my days are busy running around between work, kid’s homework, after school activities, tournaments and church obligations.  This means I have to be […]

Tips to finding the best childcare for your child

Mon, 05 Feb 2018 13:00:14 +0000

(image) This is a sponsored post with Kindercare. All opinions are my own. When I was in high school, I was convinced that I would grow up and work with kids as my career.  I took a child development class and loved it.  One of the parts of the class was to spend time at a childcare and interact with the kids once a week.  The school we went to was Kindercare and I will always have great memories of the time I spent there and the kids I got to know.  Even in high school, long before I became a parent, I could tell that it was a great environment for little ones as the teachers truly cared about the kids and the kids all seemed to love it here. As I got older I realized that working with kids was not what I wanted to do and not until I had my daughter 4 years ago, did I even think about childcare or preschool again.  When I started looking for childcares it was a little bit hard to figure out what we wanted to look for.  All the ones we visited seemed to have a great caring staff and […]

The busy mom’s guide to: AmazonFresh Review

Wed, 31 Jan 2018 13:00:18 +0000

(image) This post is sponsored by AmazonFresh.  All opinions are my own. I use affiliate links in this post which means I may make a small commission if you purchase something using my links.  Thank you for your support! I have been a fan of AmazonFresh for awhile now, grocery shopping without leaving the house?  Um yes, sign me up.  Living in Seattle, we are pretty lucky as we are usually the first to get Amazon’s newest concepts and I have been using this one since it started!  Last weekend I was invited by AmazonFresh who paid for a fun girl’s weekend with a few other bloggers and to be honest, I was a bit nervous.  I mean, I always love a girl’s weekend but this would be the first time that most of us had met and that’s always a bit nerve wracking to meet new people AND spend 3 full days with them!  But, thanks to AmazonFresh and the awesome ladies on the trip, it literally was the best weekend ever. Even though I am a Seattleite and very familiar with Seattle living, I loved this little staycation as you don’t often get to be a tourist in your own […]

Benefits of oxygenated water therapy – Oxygen Beauty Spa Review

Tue, 30 Jan 2018 13:00:50 +0000

(image) This post is sponsored by Oxygen Beauty Spa.  All thoughts and opinions are my own. Last week I had the opportunity to try out the Oxygen Beauty Spa, which is truly one of a kind!  I’ve never tried anything else like it and I loved it.  It looks like a bathtub but it’s a million times better, not only for relaxation but because it uses oxygenated water therapy, which is amazing for your skin. Benefits of oxygenated water therapy There are so many benefits that I learned about that had me sold on it.  It’s great for anti-aging as it helps with cell regrowth and skin metabolism.  It even helps with breakouts and to improve your overall skin tone!  And best of all it’s just so darn relaxing.  As a busy working mom, I look forward to long relaxing showers and me time, but I don’t always have the time for it. If I had one of these in my home, I would definitely make time in my day for it!  All you need is 20 minutes to get all the benefits from the oxygen treatment. Shop my off the shoulder ruffle swimsuit My experience with the Oxygen Beauty Spa As you […]
