Hi Jonathan, My name is Greg Lloyd and I am a fellow music educator/musician like yourself. I am a fan of your work. Your book on “Project Management” is great. It is helping me so much especially the parts on managing my teams, budgets and contracts. I have been teaching piano now for 25 years at all levels with varies music schools and universities all around the world. I am based in Ireland at the moment. My main focus is Jazz/Blues and Improvisation, however I do teach all the classical grades too. I have recently created an online music school - very early days at this point :) – and I was hoping I could get some tips from you? I would like to help people discover a different way to learn the piano away from the classical grades showing them blues, jazz and rock piano. I want to help people get results in these genres. I have written my first article- – but I am trying to improve it! You have a lot more experience than myself writing and reaching out to people online. If this was your article how would you make it better? Any advice would be amazing! The article is on “How I went from Classical piano to Jazz piano”. It's basically my story of the transition I did at the beginning of my piano playing. What do you think? Is this article something your readers would like to read if it was done right? I really appreciate your time, comments and I look forward to your response? Best, Greg Lloyd. Website: Email:

Comment on Jazz Meets Fiddle Music: An Interview with Matt Glaser by Jazz Meets Fiddle Music: An Interview with Matt Glaser | Winter Village Bluegrass Festival

[…] Matt Glaser’s new book, Fiddle Tunes on Jazz Changes, presents a brilliant juxtaposition of two quintessentially American musical genres, both of which Matt has been a champion of for many decades. Matt is the artistic director of Berklee’s American Roots Music program, and he has been an institution at Berklee since the 1970s—as well as an active fiddler, educator, writer, a talking head on the Ken Burns Jazz documentary, and so much more. In this interview, Matt gives some into improvisation, how to learn musical creativity, some great performances, and—timely, as we approach Thanksgiving—“Turkey in the Straw.”  Click here to read interview on Berklee College Online.
