'Black Lightning' Recap: Will Jefferson Help a Mother Get Her Daughter Back From the 100?

Tue, 23 Jan 2018 21:31:39 GMT

The Black Lightning episode "Lawanda: The Book of Hope" begins with a man arguing that while Black Lightning is indeed back, he's only being vindictive and that coming back is only giving people false hope. So the question throughout "Lawanda: The Book of Hope" is whether Jefferson just became Black Lightning to save his daughters only or if he'll decide to continue being Black Lightning "for real" to save his city.

Jefferson, meanwhile, is feeling the painful after effects of using his powers. Lynn hears him groaning and goes to comfort him. She talks about how she thought his powers were cool at first, but they almost destroyed them. She feels selfish and hypocritical for having him use his powers to save their daughters, but he tells her that Black Lightning isn't really back and this was a one time thing. They kiss, but Lynn stops things. Jefferson then sees a woman on the news talking about how bad things are getting. There's a war and the T00 are winning.

'America's Next Top Model' Recap: The Women Get Their Signature Looks

Tue, 23 Jan 2018 21:16:44 GMT

On this episode of America's Next Top Model, titled "Beauty Is a Trademark," the women get makeovers, and the changes prove especially difficult for Jeana, Shanice and Brendi K, the ladies work with Director X and another hopeful is eliminated.

The ladies get a Tyra mail, informing them it's time for makeovers. With the whole "next level fierce" theme going on, expect these new looks to be edgier than those in the past. It never fails that at least a few of the girls will have a complete meltdown, even though they knew this is coming. The models-in-training don't even have to wait to get to the salon before they find out what their new looks will be because Tyra reveals this info in her mail.

'NCIS' Recap: Vance Deals with Drama on the Home Front

Tue, 23 Jan 2018 21:01:25 GMT

Last time on NCIS, Gibbs demonstrated his innate understanding of Jack by telling her that he knows that she has secrets. Is it possible that Gibbs may know some of these secrets? I guess we will have to wait and see.

This episode of NCIS, "Family Ties," focuses on Vance as he deals with some family problems with his daughter, Kayla. I also really hope that we get more Abby-centric episodes this season.

With Barry in prison, Ralph steps up to take care of Central City's villains -- or at least tries to, until he gets scared -- in this episode of The Flash. But when he discovers that he's not as invincible as he thought, not even a new suit can get him to go back into the field.

Elsewhere in "The Elongated Knight Rises," while the others try to find something to get him out of prison, Barry tries to adjust to life behind bars (which means not finding a way to break out to help the team) and meets someone who knew his father.

Saturn Girl Needs to Be More Than Part of a Love Triangle on 'Supergirl'

Tue, 23 Jan 2018 14:00:00 GMT

For the most part, Supergirl has managed to take a tricky concept and make it work. While other Arrow-verse shows have floundered with a dark season 3, Supergirl is flourishing. The show is taking Kara to an intense emotional place and still keeping part of the show's charm intact. Supergirl season 3 is a big success, except for one major character.

Since being introduced, Saturn Girl (or Imra Ardeen) has been a huge problem spot for Supergirl. Saturn Girl should be an inspiring presence and another admirable female hero on the show. Instead Supergirl has slotted her into a reductive and aggravating role as the third part of a love triangle. It needs to end.

What the 'Bachelor' Ladies Could Learn from 22-Year-Old Bekah M. About Maturity

Tue, 23 Jan 2018 11:47:42 GMT

If there's been a single ongoing storyline of The Bachelor season 22, other than Krystal being a monster, it's the age of 22-year-old Bekah M. Since the very first episode, Bekah's age has been a huge flashpoint in the house -- so much so that The Bachelor refused to show her age, unlike all the other girls. Now Bekah's age has been "revealed" but it really doesn't matter. Bekah might be the youngest contestant on season 22 (and one of the youngest contestants ever) but the rest of the ladies could learn a lot from her in terms of maturity.

'The Bachelor' Recap: Arie Deals with Bekah's Age and Krystal's Rage

Mon, 22 Jan 2018 20:43:00 GMT

Arie Luyendyk Jr. is about to kick off his third round of dates in season 22 of The Bachelor, and as I sat down to prep this recap, my only thought was, "What the hell am I going to write about?"

I don't want to say Arie's quest for televised love has been boring -- it's actually been quite entertaining -- but yet it seems totally devoid of any noteworthy talking points.

'Supergirl' Recap: Who Doesn't Survive Kara's Trip to Fort Rozz?

Mon, 22 Jan 2018 19:17:00 GMT

After a winter premiere that really recapped the previous episode and dealt with its fall-out, Supergirl really introduces something new in this episode, titled "Fort Rozz." The Reign storyline takes several huge steps forward -- all by bringing in a fixture of Supergirl past.

As the name would suggest, "Fort Rozz" centers around the alien prison that was integral to the plot of Supergirl season 1. It was last seen in the first season finale when Kara threw it into space. Yet Fort Rozz finally makes a return for this fun but important and surprisingly emotional chapter in the Reign saga.
