Why 'Timeless' Deserves a Season 2

Tue, 21 Feb 2017 15:22:16 GMT

When NBC's time-travel drama first hit the air, we were somewhat skeptical about how a show like Timeless could last. It felt like something we had probably a million times before. The show proved doubters wrong, and managed to stay captivating throughout all 16 episodes. With NBC having yet made a decision on Timeless getting a season 2, here's why we think it's more than deserving.

Why Corinne Is the Best Thing to Happen to 'The Bachelor' Season 21

Tue, 21 Feb 2017 13:33:20 GMT

Nick Viall was a controversial pick for season 21 of The Bachelor, but viewers and the bachelorettes seemed willing to give Nick the benefit of the doubt that he was a genuinely nice guy with horrible luck in love. Nick has turned out to be a surprisingly sedate Bachelor, making some of us long for the bad boy of Bachelorette past. He's not much of a conversationalist --"great" is his go-to adjective -- which explains why his dates consist primarily of him interviewing his prospective brides about their lives while offering little info about himself. The dates devolve into contrived romantic scenarios with Nick and the lucky lady of the moment exchanging loud, sloppy kisses.

The women vying for Nick's affections have been minimally cray-cray and have been supportive of each other -- with a few notable exceptions. Even the usual first night cavalcade of weirdos was limited to Alexis the dolphin-crazed Jersey girl (the costume was a shark, BTW. Dolphins don't have gills); Jasmine G., who showed up with the jeweler Neil Lane; and Liz, a former one-night stand turned stalker and a chick on a camel. So, with minimal turmoil in the house and a Bachelor whose emotional range vacillates between subdued enthusiasm and ambivalence, the breakout star of season 21 is "villain" Corinne Olympios. She has delivered water-cooler moments every episode. Here are just a few reasons why Corinne is the best thing to happen to season 21 of The Bachelor.

'The Voice' Coach Gwen Stefani Says Partnership with Blake Shelton Is 'Natural' on and off Camera

Tue, 21 Feb 2017 12:01:04 GMT

The Voice coach Gwen Stefani is ready to go head-to-head against boyfriend Blake Shelton on season 12 of the NBC reality competition series, but is the romantic duo as competitive off-camera as they will surely be while compiling their respective vocal teams?

Do 'Bones' Fans Need to Worry About Sully's Motives for Returning?

Tue, 21 Feb 2017 11:47:01 GMT

The idea of the one who got away, Sully, returning to Bones probably made more than a few fans nervous, especially those who love Brennan and Booth together. Sully very nearly was the guy who ended up with Brennan and his return might be cause for concern, even if it is coming nearly 10 years after his initial goodbye. In a recent interview with TVLine though, Sully's actor, Eddie McClintock, assured everyone that Brennan and Booth fans have no need to worry.

Why Nick Getting Rid of Rose Ceremonies Has Helped 'The Bachelor' Season 21

Tue, 21 Feb 2017 11:31:12 GMT

For once Chris Harrison's pre-recorded narration has lived up to its own hype. In season 21 Nick really has become one of the more controversial leads in the show's history. Nick has made a lot questionable decisions during his fourth outing in Bachelor Nation. Most of these choices have involved the Pinocchio version of a blow-up sex doll, Corinne. But Nick has made other dubious decisions too. One of Nick's more noteworthy choices has been his almost complete rejection of a typical rose ceremony. While some fans might balk at this bucking of tradition, Nick avoiding rose ceremonies at every opportunity has been one of his smarter and more admirable decisions on The Bachelor.

'NCIS: Los Angeles' Poll: Was the Resolution of the Mole Hunt Worth the Wait?

Tue, 21 Feb 2017 11:14:06 GMT

It feels like NCIS: Los Angeles' mole hunt has been going on for years ... because it has. By the time "Payback" ended, it was more a question of who wasn't really CIA than who was, and while there is a loose end in Sabatino, as Hetty put it to Chegwidden, "Our mole may be dead, but we still have quite a mess to clean up."

There's a problem with ongoing arcs like this on shows where they're not done too often, such as a procedural drama like NCIS: LA. Some aspects may work well, but others don't, and that's true of this mole hunt. Carl Brown was a nobody when he was first introduced and caught in "Traitor" -- back in season 6 episode 9. That was just the beginning, and it wasn't until season 8 episode 15 that we got any true resolution.

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 20:51:00 GMT

This episode of Quantico season 2 is definitely a highly anticipated one, as previous episodes left fans on the edge of their seats. "EPICSHELTER" begins with Harry's revelation that he had no idea about Sebastian's wife's motives as Ryan Booth is summoned.

As for the others, they're not sure if they want to fully trust Lydia, whose return almost seems to come out of nowhere.

'The Bachelor' Recap: A Bombshell Visitor Shows Up After the Hometown Dates

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 19:50:00 GMT

Nick Viall is down to his final four in season 21 of The Bachelor, but it's tough to get too excited considering the end result is so obvious. Two of the remaining contestants are pending-Bachelorette Rachel and nanny-reared Corinne. And if you pegged Raven for the final two, well, you should go into meteorology.

It's only a matter of time before Nick chooses my pre-season favorite and sails off into the sunset with special education teacher Vanessa, and the only way we could be surprised now is if he ends up with no one.

'Supergirl' Recap: Can Kara Fend Off the Romantic Advances of a Magical Imp?

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 19:06:00 GMT

In "Mr. & Mrs. Mxyzptlk" Supergirl gives an episode fully devoted to Valentine's Day. The results are a mixed bag. While Supergirl has some of its most wild and most amusing gags in the form of its newest villain, Mr. Mxyzptlk, the show gets bogged down in some relationship drama that annoys more than engages. You'd imagine that the arrival of Mr. Mxyzptlk, who is madly "in love" in Kara, would cause some tension in the barely-begun relationship with Kara and Mon-El. The method that Supergirl uses to facilitate that tension just feels rather lazy and irritating. Supergirl ends up bringing up more problems in the Mon-El and Kara romance than it probably should in this romantic-themed episode.

Is Jadis Too Weird for 'The Walking Dead'?

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 15:00:10 GMT

"Take Rick to the up-up-up."

With just one line, Jadis cemented herself as the weirdest Walking Dead character in the show's history. It's not that Jadis and her band of junkyard dwellers weren't strange before that line during their introduction in "New Best Friends." The longer Jadis appeared, the weirder the whole thing became until the characters were just goofy. The Walking Dead is a show with zombies, but Jadis and her people might be too strange to exist in the show's world.

'This Is Us' Takes a Road Trip to Explore Randall and William's Relationship

Mon, 20 Feb 2017 12:28:48 GMT

This Is Us might have a shorter-than-usual episode order for a network drama, at just 18 episodes. But the show is still taking time out to have standalone episodes that cut down the big cast that spans multiple time periods into just a few core members. First there was the prequel episode that took place entirely before the birth of The Big Three in "The Big Day." Now the show will focus solely on Randall and William's relationship in "Memphis." Randall's actor, Sterling K. Brown, talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the episode and what fans can anticipate from Randall's current state of mind.
