Leap Of Faith v/s The Scientific Bent Of MindSanjaya Uvacha

Just returned from a week on the road – quite literally. Hyderabad – Delhi – Dharmsala – Mcleod Ganj – Delhi – Hyderabad. Colleagues that wanted to show me a good time thought it’d be fun to go from Delhi to Mcleod Ganj. 10 hours  in a bus…not the giant Volvo types..but one of those […]

We’ve read about the Black Swan…”Black Swan” events. Since then people have hoped to look out their window and finding the Black Swan flying past. The Bear Says: We know that the currency crisis would be much bigger than the Sub Prime Mortgage Mess. And we know that the US political situation is not going […]

Back from a short visit to Thrissur, Kerala….back to the business of selling loans for a living. High point of the holiday was an excellent darshan at the Shri Krishna Temple in Guruvayur. Never had darshan as good. Vidya could go touch the outer steps of the sanctum sanctorum! Random Rumblings in a head swimming […]

Many thoughts after my question on what is a normal life. Cant conclude…but feel its a life where clean air, water, a full stomach every night and a basic education are guaranteed. How do we fund this for a billion +?

Moved by a photo of conjoined twins..joined at the head. They’ve been in the hospital for the past 4 years..and now the hospital wants to allow them to lead a normal life….plans to release them to an orphanage. I dont even know what to ask Him. Peace. Prosperity. Happiness…all so meaningless. What is a normal life?

Its been a long time since I last wrote..and I have read that the writing habit requires one to write…and so, here I am, palms on the computer and tapping away at the keyboard…random rumblings on a Saturday..15 August. Independence Day.  It was two weeks ago..I was at the cinema, to watch Love Aaj Kal. […]

Don’t you think there’s something eerie about the timing of the Obama monkey cartoon and our own kaala bandar movie? The New York Post cartoon was a comment on the US Stimulus bill being ill conceived – yet was interpreted to be a racist comment, stirring up the Black v/s White like nothing else so […]

Random rumblings on a sunday morning…   What happens if oil goes to $200 a barrel? In India, we will not feel the impact for a brief period of time…thanks to the govt subsidizing fuel prices. Then, the oil companies will go to the Govt and ask for more cash. And then, petrol and diesel […]

Jaipur, Myanmar, China, Lakhi Baug and Narendra ModiSanjaya Uvacha

Tue, 20 May 2008 01:21:05 +0000

Peaceful week, this past one. Except that the people of Jaipur, Myanmar and China won’t agree with me. Re Jaipur and the bombs…I read an interesting article on why there has not been a major terrorist attack in the US since 9/11. The reasoning was that the US gave as good as it got, when […]

Fog Over the Bachhan ResidenceSanjaya Uvacha

Sun, 26 Nov 2006 10:41:52 +0000

I read that the Bachhan family is upset that the ice maiden kissed the six fingered action hero. If the story is to be believed, words were exchanged. And if I turn into an astrologist, I’d predict that this story is timed to perfection…so as to get more mileage for Dhoom 2. Mean to say: […]
