This article scared me for a minute! Luckily, it's not definitely official yet, which retains hope for at least ONE series.

If it came down to keeping one or the other, I think CBS is likely to keep "Out of Practice" over "Courting Alex". The latter was never really THAT funny or special, but possibly could've improved. Hell, they should have just scrapped "Yes, Dear" and "Still Standing" immediately in favor of keeping both. But I doubt "Courting Alex" will have any chance to do so and Jenna Elfman is once again out of luck to score the Emmy that she DID deserve for "Dharma & Greg"! (Whatever we all think of the show, she was fantastic. Plenty of others have been awarded for great work on bad sitcoms.)

Meanwhile, "Out of Practice" isn't totally dead. I sure hope the network gives it another chance--maybe stick it back on Monday and see if either "The King of Queens" or "The New Adventures of Old Christine" could hold its own on some other night (I'd prefer the former, because I adore the latter and Julia Louis-Dreyfus is FANTASTIC!) "Out of Practice" has received mostly good marks from critics and what once began as a bit over-the-top has now toned down, thanks to the elder cast members getting rid of some of their initial ticks. Stockard Channing and Ty Burrell are hilarious and both deserve Emmy nominations in the future. Plus, the show is fresh and funny, with the smart creative team behind long-running hit "Frasier" on board.

I guess we'll have to wait and see how they schedule it. (They could even do that old trick--you know, bringing it back in January, mid-season?) I still have some hope left for it to return, especially since CBS is rumored to be getting rid of its Sunday-Night-Movie slot filler.

Please, don't dump The Fonz, CBS!

I'll never watch CBS again if they do not bring back "Out of Practice".
