I can not believe that you would cancel one of the "BEST" shows on TV today.

THANKS FOR NOTHING!!!!!!

I WILL NEVER WATCH SHOWTIME AGAIN.

Are you kidding me?!?!?!? How can you cancel Huff. A great show with great performances......especially the season finale.....excellent! I was so looking forward to what the new season would bring. Something's not right here....very disappointing. This might be the end of my SHowtime subscription.

Low ratings? What do they care, its a subscription service? I think they could not afford the payroll.

CANCEL HUFF!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS SHOW! I'm really upset about this. I am so addicted to this storyline and I cannot imagine life after Huff (OK I can, but I'm still pissed)

Damn! This is bad news

Sell the rights to HBO - they have the balls to run with great talent!!

Makes no sense at all. I guess there is a reason why most people I ask do Not have Showtime. Clearly they are NOT in a position to market their shows successfully. Huff was an excellent show with excellent acting and storylines. This really is a tragedy. HBO is the only cable network that knows how to do it right.

Comment from Malissa

Thu, 06 Jul 2006 00:08:50 -05:00

I loved Huff! And I don't say that about many shows. It was the main reason I kept Showtime. Oh well, atleast my cable bill will go down when I cancel Showtime!

Maybe if Showtime advertised this show more, it would have had the "following" they expected. In the television wasteland this was an oasis of talent, and storyline. I guess we'll never know what happened to Russell. Could this be too much truth regarding just how screwed up most professionals are and i.e., lawyers and psychiatrists? Just guessing.

Comment from Jay

Fri, 07 Jul 2006 10:40:03 -05:00

Easily the most compelling series on television and Showtime has no clue how to market it. Why watch any of the new Showtime series if they can't market it and insure even a moderate run? Hopefully, HBO or some other half way decent network can revive this fantastic ensemble.

Comment from Brad

Thu, 13 Jul 2006 16:56:14 -05:00

I think that Showtime would rather kill the show completely as opposed to selling the rights to somebody like HBO. They know that they would be handling their superior rival a ratings boom. I am really disappointed in Showtime. I got rid of the subscription.

Comment from M Costa

Sat, 15 Jul 2006 20:33:26 -05:00

I just finished watching the last episode of season two; googled HUFF to find out when the next season starts and got kicked in the gut. Something smells bad here and it isn't ratings. I wish I had the cash to by the rights from Showtime and give it, yes give it to HBO. Note to me....first thing Monday morning cancel Showtime!

Thanks for nothing Mr.Greenblatt.

What the hell are the people at showtime thinking? They are going to lose so many viewers. Huff is a GREAT show. I’m not canceling my subscription just yet. Only because they still the L word and Weeds. However when they decide to make another really stupid move an cancel another one of my shows that I love that’s exactly what I’m going to do Cancel them.

A TV snob, I was turned on to Huff on the strong recommendation of a friend. After Netflixing the whole first season and becoming addicted to the smart drama and oscar-level performances by an amazing cast, I subscribed to Showtime to catch the second season. Robert Greenblatt has clearly proven his incompetence by cancelling this thinking-man's series that gets down and dirty with life. CONGRATULATIONS to Bob Lowry on his truly innovative approach to writing, casting and creating the most intelligent, emotional drama I have ever seen on television. PLEASE BOB, FIND A SMARTER NETWORK or produce it for video. Otherwise it's back to Vanity Fair for me. Good riddance Showtime!

i guess WEEDS is next on the cutting block, since it has such talented actors and writing etc.

I will never invest another minute of time on a show that will only make 2 season's then be droped....

What the hell??? There needs to be something done about this. Maybe if after the Emmys tonight enough people protest against showtime, they will bring huff back. That was one of the best shows, and we should all write to showtime. It's the only way to find out what happens after they left us all hanging!!!

Comment from Ruth

Mon, 28 Aug 2006 00:58:03 -05:00

I was totally disgusted when I found out this evening while I was watching the Emmy Award show that Huff was canceled. I cannot believe that Showtime would cancel a show that had such great actors and story lines.

Who ever decided to cancel HUFF should be FIRED since they're obviously not in touch with their viewers. HUFF was one of the finest, best acted, and well scripted shows of all times. SHOWTIME - you need to get your act together.

I too am shocked at the canceling of such a wonderfuly written and acted adult show. I hope that the top brass at HBO picks up the show and runs with it.I wish Showtime polled it's viewers as to their wishes before acting so rashly

I don't understand why????????? This was the best show to hit TV ever! I just found out after reading it in people!! If Weeds or the L Word go.. I'm getting rid of Showtime! If HBO picks it up - I'm going back to HBO! I am so upset - not even sure I want to continue with watching my other shows as who know when they will be gone. I also LOVED Dead Like Me... come on Showtime, what the hell?

THE LOW RATINGS EXCUSE IS OBVIOUSLY A COVER UP. I'M GUESSING IT IS EITHER A MONEY ISSUE, THE CAST NOT GETTING ALONG, OR SOME UNDERLINED REASON INVOLVING THE SCRIPT THAT THEY DIDN'T WANT THE PUBLIC TO SEE. WHICHEVER THE REASON, IT IS AN OBVIOUS MISTAKE. HUFF IS THE BEST SERIES SHOWTIME HAS SINCE QUEER AS FOLK. THE END OF GREAT SERIES SUCH AS HUFF, DEAD LIKE ME, & QUEER AS FOLK MEANS THE END OF SHOWTIME.
CONGRATS MS. ROBERT GREENBLATT ON AN EARLY RETIREMENT!!!!

It's a shame that CBS doesn't have the knowledge to handle talent. First, They let go of Howard Stern, then Tom Cruise and now Huff. I can't believe they did it again. Incase you didn't know showtime is owned by CBS (the world leader in canceling good shows) I was so hooked to Huff that I got rid of my direct tv to get cablevision and showtime on demand and watch the entire season again. I was so excited to see what was next for Teddy and Russell. I just mailed a $25 rebate for ordering showtime. As soon as I get the money, I will kiss my subscription good bye. And Mr. Greenblatt I hope you go swimming with sting rays.

I thought it had to be a lie! I grew up on HBO my whole life and stumbled upon Queer As Folk two years ago at a friends house. I was immediately addicted. Next The L Word. The I saw Huff and was shouting to anyone who would listen that Showtime was the cable channel to have and HBO couldn't hold a candle with its constant repeats of the same movies. Showtime had so many amazing unique original series that I called HBO and told them to cancel me as I was now a Showtime fanatic. I waited impatiently every week for the next episode of Huff. Then the nightmare. I heard a rumor it had been cancelled but figured it couldn't possibly be with Blyth Danner winning an Emmy?
I am devastated. Showtime is slowly becoming another HBO. The only show left for me is Weeds, which I can watch online for free so GOODBYE Showtime! Every great series you come up with ends up cancelled long before its time. That is just not fair to do to the fans and they are the ones that matter, don't they?

I have 16 Showtime Channels and there is no room for a great show with a God Da*m Emmy winner start no less. I guess now there will be more room for a truck load of B movies no one ever heard of.

if SHOWTIME EVER GOES ONTO THESE BLOGS(WHICH I SERIOUSLY DOUBT) I WANT THEM TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE SERIOUSLY STUPID AND SO IS HBO! I do understand the film world and know that HBO should have picked it up and made it something or another network on regular cable. That show could live on with better PR. SHOWTIME IS A young company compared to the others and expecially with coming out with movies. They are trying to be HBO and clearly failing. Look at Dead Like me. That could have done much better if they advertised it better than they did. LOOK AT THIS AS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR THEM, but they are dumb shits.

I canceled my showtime a few months ago and so did about seven other of my friends.

I loved Huff. Hank and Oliver are such amazeing actors. Showtime has no real thought process to cancel this show. Maybe someone should send the HBO comments on this to them they just might get the hint.

I thought there was something wrong with my cable. I could not imagine they would cancel this show. It had the most intesting storyline on television. Quick and clever dialog. The best actors around. Whoever at Showtime made this decision should be looking for another line of work!

How can they can such a brilliant (and evolving) show -especially with the cliffhanger last ep? I feel gutted that I won't get to see these characters again!

Comment from Rhonda

Wed, 08 Nov 2006 17:10:33 -05:00

How can they cancel a show leaving us with some many loose ends? What happens with Teddy and what about the girl he tried to kill? What really happened to the boy that Huffs' son was just trying to scare? Does Russell go to prison? Do Huff and Beth get back together? Canceling this show was the dumbest decision showtime has made...they can consider me a past subscriber. That have cancelled or are canceling all of the few good shows they air. Good bye showtime!

I demand Showtime to reconsider this silly move. Otherwise my Showtime will be cancelled, tnere is nothing left if Huff is finished.

I am so depressed that Showtime has cancelled Huff. I wouldn't be so depressed if I knew why. I thought this was one of the best shows to come on TV since the Sopranos. Screw Showtime and I hope HBO has the good sense to pick up this show.

I had not idea it was cancelled either. I live in Central America and it was/is one of my favorite shows. Seeing as I am not allowed to log onto Showtime as I am not in the USA I only found out today. This is bull. One of the most thoughtful, humanistic, realistic wonderful shows in a long, long time. Someone bring it back! Can HBO do that - please!!!!

I'm actually starting to believe that Showtime are out to put out major hits only to pull the plugs, once they've properly "hooked" everyone on their exceptional series called HUFF. How could they do it you ask? Well same goes for DEAD LIKE ME. I suppose the brass at Showtime thought "Hey"! This is actually too good to air! Why don't you guys put on a dramatic series based on ancient Hungarian cabinetmaking, or the complete history of insect life from Madagascar for 10 seasons....You know;Something interesting, that will skyrocket your viewers. Start being management and make solid positive decisions, and stop portraying the actors roles and their vices and quirks.
ITS THEIR JOB TO ACT! ITS YOUR JOB TO KEEP THE VIEWERS HAPPY! ANY IDEA WHAT AVENUE YOU CHOSE TO TAKE? Keep up the great work. I can't believe you actually get paid for these types of decisions!!! Can't wait for a new great 1 or 2 season show!!!
