Which band am I most excited about hearing at this Millennium Music Conference 16? That's easy. It's my favorite group from last year's showcase: Brooklyn's Gold Streets.

Which band am I most excited about hearing at this Millennium Music Conference 16? That's easy. It's my favorite group from last year's showcase: Brooklyn's Gold Streets.

The dreamy neo-psychedelic rock quartet's dense, intricate sounds and airy vocals have been my favorite MMC band for a few years running. 

Gold Streets plays the Quarter Gin Mill Friday night at 10:30 p.m.

Folk singer Lloyd Mac Hardy comes all the way from Nova Scotia, Canada, while Mike Piaskowski hails from Mechanicsburg, Pa.

One band from Philadelphia, Revolution, I Love You, will be kicking of Saturday with densely layered music which might surprise you as it comes from a band composed of just two men. They describe their music as having dramatic choruses, loops, and synthesizers, using them to make a "strange and somewhat psychedelic effect." MMC16: Alex Brubaker to work guitar magic at The Soup Spot

The Soup Spot in midtown Harrisburg hosts a set of acoustic acts with strong local connections on both nights of Millennium Music Conference 16.

The Soup Spot in midtown Harrisburg hosts a set of acoustic acts with strong local connections on both nights of Millennium Music Conference 16.

One of The many highlights is the fingerstyle guitar work of Elizabethtown's Alex Brubaker.

As Brubaker explains, his music, "showcases techniques such as guitar body percussion, two handed tapping, lap tapping, live looping, alternate tunings."
