Sun, 28 May 2017 19:00:17 EDT

But Gonzalez and the Sox rolled to a 7-3 win.

Sat, 27 May 2017 18:23:55 EDT

Hamstring strain lands Kinsler on 10-day DL

Sat, 27 May 2017 22:41:15 EDT

The Tigers have been hit hard by their schedule this week, wrapping up the weekend with four games in the span of about 48 hours. However, their biggest blow from this two-city road trip won't be from a lack of sleep. Detroit will be without a major cog in its lineup and middle infield, as the club placed second baseman Ian Kinsler on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

Hall order: Verlander's goal Cooperstown

Fri, 26 May 2017 13:03:28 EDT

Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander is one of the best and the brightest of this generation's starting pitchers. He still "likes" the win as a statistic, is aiming at eventual induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and thinks he has a shot at 300 wins to ensure his election.

Statcast of the Day: Martinez's two big swings

Fri, 26 May 2017 00:47:56 EDT

J.D. Martinez got a lot of mileage out of two big swings Thursday against the Astros, hitting a double 425 feet and then swatting a homer a projected 430 feet.

Homers not enough, as Verlander hit hard

Fri, 26 May 2017 01:21:55 EDT

This was his first three-hit game since April 14 and it hit the mark in terms of positive reinforcement.

Ausmus earns save for Tigers' bullpen

Thu, 25 May 2017 00:53:05 EDT

Seems like every season the Tigers would construct a team almost good enough to win a championship. There'd be very good starting pitching and a really deep lineup. Problem is, there was always this one teensy problem. In the last four seasons, the Tigers bullpen has been ranked 24th, 27th, 27th and 24th in relief pitching ERA.

Fulmer has fun taping 'Play Ball' segment

Wed, 24 May 2017 20:40:29 EDT

Michael Fulmer isn't used to attention when he works in the bullpen between starts. Usually it's a quiet place for him to get in his work. On Wednesday, he had a MLB Network crew and Eric Byrnes with him as he walked into the bullpen at Minute Maid Park.
