This important and famous Shakta Pitha is situated on a hill top at a distance of 30 Kms towards north of Brahmapur on the south bank of river Rushikulya. The height of the hill is approximately 708ft. and the total area spreading over 180 Acres of land. The hill is popularly known as Tara Tarini Hill(Parvata) and is surrounded by natural beauty . One of the legends of the puranic tradition connects the Shrine to the Daksha Yagyan from which the famous Shakta Pitha of Tara-Tarini originated from the limbs of the Corpse of Devi or Sati. According to this legend once Daksha Prajapati the father of Goddes Devi or Sati performed a Yagyan to which he deliberately did not invite his daughter and her husband Lord Siva . When Devi knew this from Narada she took the permission of her husband and came to the Yangyan site to enquire why her father did not invite her husband Lord Siva to the Yogyan. Daksha spoke insulting words to Lord Siva which were not tolerable to Sati. As a result of this she jumped into the Yagyan Kunda and sacrificed her life. When Lord Siva knew this he became very angry and taking the dead body of Sati he started tandaba nrutya which could have caused Mahapralaya ( vast destruction). On the request of the Devatas, Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Sani entered the corpse of Sati and disposed it part by part. Consequently Shakta Pithas originated on the places where the organs of Sati had fallen. It is said that the breasts of Sati fell at the Kumari Hills on the bank of river Rushikulya and thus the famous Tara Tarini Shakta Pitha arose at this place.

Lord Krishna Childhood Stories

Thu, 05 Apr 2018 04:33:00 +0000

Story No. 1Krishna And PutanaKansa, the evil uncle of Krishna had told Putana-the female demon, to kill baby Krishna. Putana disguised herself as a cowherdess & went to Gokul. After killing many babies by feeding them with her poisoned milk, she entered Krishna‟ house. Krishna knew her real form . He sucked so hard that he extracted Putana‟s life along with the milk. Before dying ,Putana assumed her original form & died. The Gopis with Rohini and Yasoda came rushing to the spot and took up the child, which was playing fearlessly on the body of Putana who was freed from her sins as she had offered to give milk to the Lord. So no matter how powerful evil is, it always gets defeated by the Good. Story No. 2The Killing of TrinavartaOne day Yasoda was fondling the child on her lap. Suddenly Krishna became very heavy like a rock. She was not able to bear the weight of the child and so she left the child on the ground and proceeded to do some household work. A demon Trinavarta by name, a servant of Kamsa, carried away the child in the form of a whirlwind at the instigation of Kamsa. The whole Gokula was wrapped in dust and darkness for sometime. The demon reached the sky but he was not able to proceed further on account of the heaviness of Krishna. The child gripped his neck tightly and the demon was strangled. He became powerless and could not throw down the wonder-child. He fell breathless from the sky with all his limbs shattered on the stones below. The Gopis and the Gopas saw Krishna lying unscathed and happy on the chest of the dead Asura and became immensely happy. They restored the child to Yasoda.Story No.3Lord Krishna Mata YashodaOne day Balarama and the other boys complained to Yasoda that Krishna had eaten dirt. Yasoda got afraid that this might affect Sri Krishna‟s health. She rebuked Krishna, “O my naughty child! Why did you eat earth in secret?” Sri Krishna replied, “O mother! I did not eat earth. These boys have told a lie. Examine my mouth.” Yasoda said, “Open your mouth, my child!” Sri Krishna opened His mouth. Therein she saw the whole universe of animate and inanimate things, the sky, the cardinal points, the mountains, continents, seas, the whole earth, air, fire, the sun, the moon and the stars, the seven Dvipas, the planets, the Devas, the mind, the senses, the three Gunas and their modifications, the Jiva, Karma and its seeds, even Brindavan and herself. She was amazed, and began to reflect thus, “Is this a dream or a strange vision of God‟s illusion or does my child possess any inborn Yogic powers?” She said, “Salutations to the Lord, I take shelter under Him whose Maya produces the wrong notions—This is Nanda, my husband. This is my son. I am Yasoda. This is mine.” She had the true knowledge, but she lost her memory of the vision by the Yoga Maya of the Lord. She again knew Krishna to be her own son and placed him on her lap. Story No. 4One day Krishna heard a woman shouting, “O people! Purchase fruits.” He quickly took a handful of grain and hastened to her side to get some fruits, though He is the Lord who confers all fruits of all works and worship. The woman filled both his hands with fruits and in return took the grain and put it in her basket. Her basket became full of gems and precious stones.Story No. 5The story of Krishna, and Kaliya the serpent is very well known. Kaliya, a naga (a serpent), had been occupying the river Yamuna and its banks. It had poisoned the waters of the Yamuna and also dried the forests nearby by the poison airs breathed by it. Krishna jumped into the water to kill the serpent. He was coiled around by Kaliya, the serpent king and he lay at the bottom of the river. But then he soon was reminded of his divine powers and exercising his powers he uncoiled himself from the serpent and danced on the head of the serpent and wanted to kill it. But on request from the wives of Kaliya, he left it alone and asked them all to leave the shores of Yamuna. So they left. Yamuna and its shores .Story No. 6One day Krishna and the[...]

History Of Katasraj Temple

Thu, 22 Mar 2018 10:25:00 +0000

(image)

Katasraj Temple is a Hindu temple complex situated in Katas village near Choa Saidanshah in the Chakwal district of Punjab in Pakistan. Dedicated to Shiva, the temple has, according to Hindu legend, existed since the days of Mahābhārata and the Pandava brothers spent a substantial part of their exile at the site and later Krishna himself laid the foundation of this temple and established his hand made Shivling in it.

The Katas Raj temple is one of the Hindu community’s most well-known places of worship. The name ‘Katas’ is derived from Kataksha, a Sanskrit word meaning ‘tearful eyes’.

The Katasraj temple complex is believed to date back to the Mahabharata era. Many legends are associated with the temples. The five Pandava brothers, heroes of the Sanskrit epic the Mahabharata, are said to have stayed here for four of the thirteen years they spent in exile. The lake in the complex is believed to be filled with Shiva's tears and are thus said to have magical powers. The complex is also believed to be the site where one of the Pandava brothers, Yudhishthira, defeated the Yaksha with his wisdom, bringing his brothers back to life.

Another legend involves the death of Shiva's wife Sati; the story goes that when she died he cried so much and for so long that his tears created two holy ponds - one at Pushkara in Ajmer, in modern India, and the other at Ketaksha in modern day Pakistan, which literally means "raining eyes" in Sanskrit. It is from this name that the word Ketas is derived. Another version of the legend mentions the two pools at Katasraj and Nainital.

The Distinction Between Krishna And Rama

Wed, 21 Mar 2018 04:51:00 +0000

(image)

The Krishna Avathaar was intended to give a perennial message to the world. He sought nothing for himself. He kept nothing for himself. He gave away everything to the people. He slayed his maternal uncle, Kamsa. He installed on the throne Kamsa's: father Ugrasena. He did not covet the Kingdom. He befriended the Paandavas, defeated the Kauravas and crowned Dharmaja as the emperor. He did not make himself king. He was a king without a crown. He was the king of kings. He had no kingdom of his own. But he ruled over the hearts of the millions. It is this profound truth that is proclaimed by the Krishna-thathva (Krishna principle).Krishna is a form to which is poured out devotion and supreme love from the hearts of countless devotees not only in India but also in the West.

Lord Rama is a major deity of Hinduism. He is the seventh avatar of the God Vishnu, one of his most popular incarnation.

What Is Life And Death In Spiritually

Wed, 01 Nov 2017 08:14:00 +0000

(image)

Every moment of human life increases towards death. In fact, whatever he does, he does only for death. Every leaf that blossoms in the spring itself fall in the autumn. It is not worthless to create a sweet melody, then blossoming it, drinking the sun's rays and waving in the pan. Every leaf in the tree tries to keep the power in the wind and keep it on the tree. Creation is also a great tree. And every human being, animal husbandry, growing and falling leaves on this tree Fall is sure. But it is also necessary to enjoy both the conflict and the peace, as long as it is engaged in a tree.Today we try to explain the real meaning of Life And Death.

Life
In the heart of Divine was the wish of creation. The rays of this desire spread around. God Himself became the creation by His will. Many creatures and many substances were created by the divine. Every organism and every particle itself is divine. That is, the divine is life. And whose heart knows this thing, never jealous and anger towards others. He walks on religion. And always respect justice. This is the essence of life.

Must Read - The Power Of Religion

Death
Man stays with other human beings due to his love, selfishness and anger. The name of that bond is only the attachment. Due to attachment, one considers his body to be life, and death of body is called death. But all the world is born in the heart of God and it can be destroyed only in the heart of God. Death is the only distance between two people. As long as the world is alive, it is not possible to destroy any organism. How can death be possible? That is, God is the world, the world is life, death is only an illusion.

The Power Of Religion

Fri, 29 Sep 2017 16:00:00 +0000

(image)

Everyone thinks about religion, no one is concerned about their own religion, but about the religion of others, and the unrighteousness of others is discussed. But what exactly is religion? Today I will try to define the Definition Of Religion. Religion gives man the knowledge of living with pleasure in the other person with all the creation. This is the reason that man gets eternal peace in a religious places like temples. Religion destroys all human struggles. But how is it possible , that no human should have any conflict with others? Where there is love, is there a conflict? But at the time the conflict takes place, there is a forgetfulness of love. And then the desires awakens, Ego awakens, anger raises, but love does not wake up. Because where love awakens, all disputes, all struggles, all disputes are destroyed. If a person has a love for another person, then it is called compassion. Acceptance of compassion from all the world. For all, only love and nothing else. Compassion is indeed the essence of all religions. But time and again it is time that man forgets the root of compassion. Some rules hold the traditions, and they forget the compassion. Then the conflict is born.
