Oct. 31, 1991, started out like any other Halloween for Kathryn Trotochaud Rodrigue, who was 13 at the time and out trick-or-treating with her friends. But the evening took a terrifying turn for her and her entire family when she learned her mother, Jeannie Trotochaud, had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
