Leave it to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 to pluck this song out of relative obscurity.

"Soup! Soup!"

Re: House candidate who insulted Florida teens drops out of race

Do you seriously believe Gibson called her a Skinhead Lesbian as a celebratory term? You're a few french fries short of a Happy Meal if you really believe that. Bottom line, that idiot showed his true colors along with his blackened soul when he made his remark and his half-assed apology isn't fooling anyone.

And the trash takes itself out.

Re: Dem enters Maine race against GOP state candidate who called Parkland survivor 'skinhead lesbian'

Gibson's original comments ring truthful and show exactly how blackened his soul is. He can take that half-assed apology and shove it where the sun don't shine.

Looking forward to this album. I'll admit I really like their 2002 album CRY (from the middle of their "insignificant period").

Re: CNN’s Angela Rye says ‘bye, girl’ to Omarosa in the most hilarious way possible

LaToya and Omarosa were in an epic throwdown while they were on Celebrity Apprentice a few years back. Once it ended, LaToya commented that Omarosa's fiancee Michael Clarke Duncan had passed from a heart attack, and Omarosa probably gave it to him.

Hmmmmm, maybe LaToya Jackson was right about Omarosa after all.

Re: Butch Vig’s new supergroup 5 Billion In Diamonds unveil new song & video ‘Gravity Rules’

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 01:33:49 -0000

As to your question of "when will the kids get a shot?", yeah it definitely means something that they're doing this independently. 5 Billion In Diamonds doesn't have a major label putting millions behind them in backing and promotion. This is all being done on their own, and if they have the ability to do that, why not? If "the kids" you speak of are able to put in the effort of getting their music out there independently (as opposed to striving for the backing and millions in promotion from any of those major labels or appearing on an "Idol"-type talent search show), your argument would have some merit. In other words, putting this out independently is not preventing other undiscovered talent from getting their shot at the big time. If it's not your type of music, that's fine... to each his or her own.

You realize this project was released independently and not by a major label conglomerate.

Re: Project Runway recap: Season 16, episode 5

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 17:08:19 -0000

And Monique has been the losing designer's model for three challenges in a row. I'm thinking any designer who gets her from here on out is going to be shaking in their boots.

Re: Project Runway recap: Season 16, episode 5

So with the models being changed up every week, how are the models being eliminated from week to week? At first it looked like the losing designer's model would leave with the designer, but the last two episodes we saw the losing designer's model reappear. Are they using the "button bag" to determine which model goes? Nobody seems to be cluing us in.

Re: Golden Girls version of Clue is coming

Regarding the "mystery men", they are indeed Miles (he's holding a Rose) and Stan (he's holding the traffic cone monkey from his psychiatrist). Also the token is not hairspray, it's a can of whipped cream (Blanche used to keep a can in her bedroom).

How about the infamous double elimination of Vivienne Pinay and Honey Mahogany in Season 5?

Re: Cassettes are making a comeback! | MNN - Mother Nature Network

"Near indestructibility" and "long on great sound"??? Cassettes (especially commercial releases) were absolutely horrible, the sound quality disintegrated considerably over time, and don't get me started on how susceptible they were to being "eaten" by the player. I'm not sure what universe the writer of that article is living in, but cassettes are gone for a reason, and good riddance.

Re: Consenting Adults

In reference to Jill's "dumb" comment regarding her thinking Harry S. Truman was James Whitmore, this could indicate that Jill had seen the 1975 bio-pic "Give 'em Hell, Harry", with James Whitmore playing President Truman.

Re: 15 Worst Employee Training Videos

Thu, 08 Dec 2016 01:46:48 -0000

I vividly remember a couple of McDonald's training videos from the 80s. One was called "Green and Growing", based on a favorite saying by Ray Kroc ("if you're green, you're growing; if you're ripe, you start to rot"). This one was about managers being able to identify and correct "service barriers" at their restaurants; it featured some of the worst overacting I've ever seen, although the icy "we stopped serving breakfast at 10:30!" from the girl at the front counter was almost spot on. Another one was the introduction of the PAR pre-programmed cash register system; this one began with a manager who was worried about the introduction of the new cash register/order taking system, and in a weird "two spies on a dark street corner" dream sequence, she is shown how the system works and we are treated to a very bad "Airplane!" style presentation full of lame wordplay, puns and sight gags.

Re: CNN’s Ana Navarro: ‘Trump is the only one who drunk tweets sober and he does it at 4am in the morning’

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 23:38:56 -0000

THIS is how the rest of the media needs to shut down Kellyanne Conway and the rest of the surrogates/minions/fembots that keep deflecting and spewing the same tired rhetoric over and over again. I swear, watching their interviews is like watching Groundhog Day.

Re: Bimini Code (1984)

Sat, 07 May 2016 00:51:29 -0000

Yes! I remember seeing the second half of this on the CBS Late Movie around June of 1986, wondering what in fresh hell it was. I finally scored a VHS copy of this about a year or two ago (the same one from American National Enterprises, featuring the same trailers you discussed... and yes, those obscure flicks you mentioned are actually legitimate movies that they had released on VHS at that time). Man this was cheesy, and your write-up and bullet points do it justice... bravo! Now (since I no longer have a functioning VCR) if only someone could put this out on DVD I would be one happy camper... I'm not holding my breath though (see what I did there?)!

Re: Billy the Kid vs Dracula (1966)

Sat, 07 May 2016 00:41:40 -0000

I remember seeing this movie about 30 or so years ago on a Saturday afternoon in Chicago on WFLD-TV (channel 32) and remember seeing Virginia Christine in it, thinking "Hey, that's Mrs. Olson!" Aside from that I only had bits and pieces to go on, but I remembered her character placing the wolf's bane around the windows to ward off the vampire. I'll have to check it out again soon.

Be sure to enjoy this flick with a hot cup of Folgers; "Mountain-grown... the richest kind!"

Re: Robot Empire: Remembering Topper’s Ding-A-Ling Robots of the 1970s

Sat, 23 Apr 2016 01:31:05 -0000

Wow! I've been wracking my brain for YEARS trying to remember what these were called and who manufactured them; at least I'm not going crazy! I definitely had King Ding (with Brain inside) and the Super Looper Space Skyway (IIRC mine came with the Rocky robot). Thanks for solving the mystery for me!
