Re: Lady Gaga's 'artRAVE' at Wells Fargo Center gets moved to a new date

Tue, 06 May 2014 18:16:37 -0000

Total BS. This is the second tour in a row my wife has had tickets for and second time she's screwed fans in Philly. No one needs her self-absorbed crap any longer.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 103 (of 103)

Fri, 28 Mar 2014 22:16:03 -0000

Oh, wow - you know I love "This Is How We Do It" and I didn't realize he was calling out Y?N-Vee, SCC.....you have taught me something today!

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 103 (of 103)

Tue, 25 Mar 2014 19:02:13 -0000

I thought about the '70s but I don't know that I could keep up my enthusiasm for it.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 103 (of 103)

Tue, 25 Mar 2014 19:01:27 -0000

Haha. It was intended originally to be a celebration of the Ass End but it kind of morphed a bit with this version.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 103 (of 103)

Mon, 24 Mar 2014 14:43:00 -0000

Yes, the regional aspect of this was interesting. The '80s didn't really have it that much it seems but once the '90s introduced so many niche genres, I guess it was bound to happen. If I had grown up in Miami I think I would totally like a different set of songs than I do now.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 103 (of 103)

Ten years from now, we'll see if the '00s are still calling. Thanks for reading (you and everyone). I really can't believe how poorly that Yaki-Da song has aged. Or maybe it was never good

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 103 (of 103)

Mon, 24 Mar 2014 13:58:32 -0000

Yeah, that would be nice. I'd like that for sure.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 103 (of 103)

Mon, 24 Mar 2014 13:57:27 -0000

2000's, yuck. That would be horrible, I would think. A '70s version would generate a lot of buzz around here I would think but I don't know that I could take it personally. I'll figure something new out. I've got like 5000 '80s records at home just begging to be used in some capacity! :)

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 102

Haha. It does, doesn't it - I'll have to check that out tomorrow morning. Wonder how those two got blended together.

Re: BOOK REVIEW: “Mad World: An Oral History of New Wave Artists & Songs That Defined The 1980’s” by Lori Majewski & Jonathan Bernstein

Mon, 17 Mar 2014 19:22:32 -0000

The ABC / Buzzcocks thing is weird. ABC were considered new wave and had five records in the '80s all of which produced hits. The Buzzcocks didn't release a non-comp album in the '80s and since this is a book about that decade, I don't understand how they even apply here.

I think 103 will be the final installment.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 99

Tue, 25 Feb 2014 16:31:01 -0000

Hmm, that's quite and endorsement for Clay Walker. Sounds like I might have to dig that up and give it a listen.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 99

Tue, 25 Feb 2014 16:28:51 -0000

Great. Thanks for reading!

Right now, no plans. Bottom Feeders though, is going to be retired. Five years and three sets of these later, I think it's about time to let it go. I would like to do another series that's unique like this but I've yet to come up with something that works for me.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 96

Mon, 03 Feb 2014 11:37:07 -0000

Yes, that's what I know them! I knew there had to be something.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 96

Mon, 03 Feb 2014 11:36:38 -0000

No problem. Yes, there's actually a note at the very bottom that indicates that I don't have them. I just simply couldn't find the MP3's for them for some reason.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 92

Tue, 07 Jan 2014 13:02:20 -0000

A very true statement. I got into them as I was writing that they just flowed naturally from the pen.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 89

Mon, 02 Dec 2013 09:34:26 -0000

Yeah, I meant to hunt the original down in MP3 as I don't seem to own it but completely forgot over the holiday week, so I added the youtube video for the original in.

I remember Kaleidoscope World being a great album but that's one I haven't picked up in a decade for some reason.

And Miami is probably the reason Tanto Metro spent so many weeks on the chart. I keep listening to it now. I think it's the best song of the post for some reason.

And.... waterworks?

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 85

Tue, 05 Nov 2013 09:39:40 -0000

I wrote the paragraph on them, Thursday maybe...and since that point I can't get 99% from Grave Dancers Union out of my head. I regret not seeing them back in the day - they were always one I wanted to.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol 84.

Mon, 21 Oct 2013 11:43:27 -0000

Fun fact of the day!

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol 84.

Mon, 21 Oct 2013 11:42:02 -0000

Yes, I try to only mention them once and this was in the H's.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 83

Tue, 15 Oct 2013 12:24:11 -0000

Haha, the missing paragraph was intentional and your definition of why is close enough. I didn't have an emoticon that shrugged then smacked himself in the forehead.

Re: Bottom Feeders: The Ass End of the ’90s, Vol. 81

Used for a penny - hard to argue there.

You actually still like that song? It was good when it came out but sounds so old at this point.

No, I was having some FTP issues this weekend which I just got resolved. They are all up now. Sorry for the delay!
