A teen¹s response to the Virginia Tech tragedy

Words cannot capture the emotions I felt after I learned of the Virginia Tech massacre. Waves of sadness, shock and anger all resounded through me. Like the rest of America on that horrific Monday, I watched as network after network, reporter after reporter repeated the sequence of events, showed the killer's video manifesto and argued whether mental illness, gun control, bullying or lax school security lay at the heart of such a terrible crime. Still ,the only thing I can take away from this is that 32 young lives were scratched out before their time.

"Iraq in Fragments," a documentary directed by James Longley, tells the stories of three diverse groups of Iraqi citizens. The film is beautifully made and is touching, showing the complexity of each subject's emotions and the complexity of the world they live in. It has been recognized for its compelling script by several major film award organizations, including the Academy Awards for best documentary.
