I'm glad that Mothering Magazine reported about the "stealth" practices of the formula industry and that the Washington Post ran the story about the HHS study being hushed by formula companies. It's important that the public hears these things. Maybe people will listen more to breastfeeeding promotion campaigns when they hear that formula companies are trying (pretty successfully) to convince them that formula is equal to breastfeeding.

I'm really disappointed to hear that Working Mother teamed up with Abbott/Ross to promote babyfeedingchoice.com. I wish they would team up with a breastfeeding advocacy group in order to help mothers that work outside of the home have more breastfeeding support!

Thank you for the post. I lived in Europe for a few years and it is amazing the difference in breastfeeding rates there and here. Over there, nursing is just plain normal. Here it is normal in some places and in others (airport incident) it is banned.

Thanks again,

Edie
