reading that and then wanting to comment and discovering I had to join reminded me why I don't like Serious Eats all that much - way too serious.

So I'll comment here.

One of my questions about the new cult of the snapshot is that it prevents people from actually experiencing. If you take the picture to help you remember then you automatically take away from actually experiencing the moment - and you use the photo as a crutch for your memory. I think this is true for many things but especially for food.

I don't really care about ban or not ban but I do really HATE the whole trend of 'go see my flickr album for lots of pictures'.

I love good pictures (not snapshots) but why should I go off to some stupid flickr presentation?
