An inductor implemented in an integrated circuit is described. The inductor comprises a plurality of loops of the inductor in at least a first metal layer and a second metal layer of a plurality of metal layers; and a plurality of vias connecting ends of loops of the plurality of loops in different metal layers; wherein each loop of the first metal layer which is connected to a corresponding loop of the second metal layer overlies the corresponding loop of the second metal layer. A method of implementing an inductor in an integrated circuit is also described.



Electromagnetically-countered transformer systems and methods

The present invention relates to an electromagnetically-countered system including at least one wave source irradiating harmful electromagnetic waves and at least one counter unit emitting counter electromagnetic waves which are capable of countering the harmful waves by such counter waves. More particularly, the present invention relates to generic counter units of various electromagnetically-countered transformer systems and to various mechanisms for countering the harmful waves by the counter units by, e.g., matching configurations of such counter units with those of the wave sources, matching shapes of the counter waves with shapes of the harmful waves, and the like. The present invention also relates to various methods of countering the harmful waves with the counter waves by such source matching or wave matching and various methods of providing such counter units as well as emitting the counter waves. The present invention also relates to various processes for providing such systems and their counter units. The present invention further relates to various electric and/or magnetic shields which may be used alone and/or in combination with such counter units to minimize irradiation of the harmful waves from the system.



Multilayer inductor and method of manufacturing the same

Disclosed herein are a multilayer power inductor and a method of manufacturing the same. The multilayer power inductor includes a multilayer body formed by multi-layering a plurality of body sheets; a coil portion including internal electrode patterns that are respectively formed on the plurality of body sheets; and external electrodes that are disposed on lateral surfaces of the multilayer body and are electrically connected to both ends of the coil portion, wherein a space portion is formed in the internal electrode pattern to correspond to contraction of the plurality of body sheet. The multilayer power inductor relieves internal stress generated in a product through the space portion so as to prevent the body sheet from being magnetized due to the internal stress, thereby preventing a reduction in inductance. The multilayer inductor may also be manufactured by using conventional manufacturing processes themselves without any influence on the productivity of a product.



System and method for a coreless transformer

In accordance with an embodiment, a transformer includes a first coil disposed in a first conductive layer on a first side of a first dielectric layer, and a second coil disposed in a second conductive layer on a second side of the first dielectric layer. Each coil has a first end disposed inside its respective coil and a second end disposed at an outer perimeter of its respective coil. A first crossover disposed in the second conductive layer is directly connected to the first end of the first coil and extends past the outer perimeter of the first coil. In addition, a second crossover disposed in the first conductive layer is directly connected to the first end of the second coil and extends past the outer perimeter of the second coil.

Disclosed herein is a multilayer inductor, manufactured by stacking laminates each including: a substrate having internal electrode coil patterns formed thereon; and a magnetic substance filling the substrate on which the internal electrode coil patterns are formed, wherein the substrate is formed by using a composition including a magnetic material, so that, when the substrate is placed in the middle of the electrode circuit patterns at the time of manufacturing a power inductor, the substrate can be utilized as a gap material, and thus the thickness of an inductor chip can be minimized, and, in addition, the magnetic material is included in the substrate forming composition, thereby improving magnetic characteristics, and the liquid crystal oligomer and the nanoclay are added to the composition, to thereby increase insulating property between magnetic metals, thereby raising inductance, and thus dimensional stability and physical hardness of the structure can be secured.

Embodiments of the present invention provide novel techniques for creating a high speed transformer such as a pulse transformer. In particular, a secondary coil of the high speed transformer may include a single turn. The use of a single turn secondary coil simplifies the design and manufacture of the transformer and aids in more efficient inspections. Further, the single turn secondary coil transformer may reduce the number of vias used to interconnect the components of the transformer. Additionally, the embodiments described herein may significantly improve voltage isolation by single turn coils, and eliminate vias between board layers.

The present invention discloses a filter for removing noise, which includes: a lower magnetic substrate; a coil layer disposed on the lower magnetic substrate and including at least one conductor pattern and an insulating layer covering the conductor pattern; an upper magnetic substrate disposed on the coil layer; and a magnetic permeability enhancing layer disposed on the magnetic substrate with lower magnetic permeability of the lower magnetic substrate and the upper magnetic substrate. According to the present invention, it is possible to implement a filter for removing noise with high performance, characteristics, and reliability by increasing magnetic permeability to improve impedance characteristics and improving an effect of shielding electromagnetic waves such as jamming.

The dielectric-containing material is cured to produce an electrically-insulative body in which the coiled magnet wire and the first end portion of the braided lead wire are at least partially embedded. Prior to application of the dielectric-containing material, the braided lead wire is at least partially impregnated with a masking material deterring wicking of the dielectric-containing material into an intermediate portion of the braided lead wire. In certain cases, the masking material may be removed from the braided lead wire after curing, and the electrically-insulative body may be sealed within a canister.

An insulating layer of corrugated material and resin impregnated insulation is wound to separate the primary from the secondary windings. The primary winding is wound with alternating magnet wire layers and resin impregnated insulation layers and a resin impregnated outer layer covers the circumference of the coil to produce an oval mechanically robust construction preventing winding displacement and sealing out environmental contaminants.

A ventilation opening is formed in an up/down direction in the column section. The ventilation opening communicates with a ventilation passage formed between a sealing rubber and the case section and is open in an upper end section. A cover surrounding the column section and covering the upper end section is provided in the side wall section. A sealing section sealing the notched section is provided in the cover. The ignition coil has a filler resin that fills a space within the case section being in continuous contact with the sealing section and the side wall section and fixing the cover to the side wall section.
