The system comprises a clamping collar (10) suitable for being brought resiliently from its rest configuration in which its diameter is small to an expanded configuration. The system further comprises a support ring (20) suitable for being encircled by the collar, and an expander (40) suitable for co-operating with the ring firstly to hold the ring in an expanded configuration in which the collar (10) encircling the ring is also in its expanded configuration when the expander and the ring are in a first relative position, and secondly to enable the ring to contract and the clamping system to tighten under the resilient return force exerted by the collar encircling the ring when the expander and the ring are in a second relative position.

Clamp for sanitary fitting

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 08:00:00 EDT

A clamp for sanitary fittings includes a clamp body formed of a first arcuate member and a second arcuate member movable about a hinge assembly from an open configuration to a closed, latched configuration. The hinge assembly detachably couples the first arcuate member to the second arcuate member. The hinge assembly includes an arcuate finger extending from an end of the first arcuate member, a pin-receiving recess formed within the arcuate finger, and a post formed on an end of the second arcuate member. Upon assembly, the arcuate finger cradles around the post and the post fits within the pin-receiving recess.

Threaded joint for tubes, pipes and the like

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 08:00:00 EDT

A threaded joint comprises a coupling, a first pin, and a second pin, wherein the thread of the first pin has a pitch different from the pitch of the thread of the second pin. The extremities of the pins have slanted contact surfaces of complementary shape that make mutual contact after make-up of the joint. The slanted common plane of contact of both pins has an angle to the plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the joint which is greater than 0°. In an alternative embodiment the contact surfaces of the pins are split into two staggered planes and comprise a seal in-between.
