It develops best-practice guidelines, investigative reports, and briefing materials for strategic IT decision-makers, software developers, and academic end-users. As well as a web-based clearing-house for up to date information, OSS Watch organizes national conferences, expert workshops and offers focused assistance for institutions and software projects. It is funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).
