The motion system of the present invention can work in murky, stained water and at night to help fish locate the lure. The motion system may include a containment system that holds a coin/pancake type vibrator that is connected with a battery, typically a button-type battery.

Fumigation system and process with temperature control, filtration, and air-reintroduction

Tue, 12 May 2015 08:00:00 EDT

Fumigation systems and processes that are especially applicable for the fumigation of perishable (or otherwise sensitive to temperature) agricultural products as the temperature conditions under which the product is being treated are closely controlled to advantageously prevent the product from being exposed to temperature drops and/or spikes during the fumigation cycle. In addition, the present invention incorporates an air filtration system as a part of the fumigation system to substantially remove the toxic fumigant residuals from the air before it is exhausted into the open atmosphere, which typically occurs at the completion of a fumigation cycle. As such, the harmful effect of the fumigant on the products and the surrounding environment and work areas is greatly minimized. In summary, the systems and processes of the present invention provide the ability to conduct fumigations in a well-controlled environment.

Ant bait dispenser

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 08:00:00 EDT

An insect toxic bait dispenser has a top with multiple downwardly opening compartments in which toxic bait fluids may be retained by an underlying foil barrier. The top is supported on a base with posts positioned beneath the barrier. Base prongs extend into a top shaft with ledges at different heights, preventing part separation when the barrier is intact above the posts, and, when the top is closed on the base, piercing the foil seal and dispensing liquids into fluid retaining members held in base pockets. To use, a peripheral tear strip is removed from the base, permitting the top to descend on the base causing the posts to puncture the seal, compressing the fluid retaining members against the barrier to receive and dispense toxic bait liquid while retarding the rate of liquid evaporation. The top may be hinged to the base, or urged downwardly by a threaded cap.

Method for using a rat guard

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 08:00:00 EDT

An electric grid is positioned on an insulated pad on the sheath which is electrically connected to the shield for receiving power from an acoustical generator also connected to the shield and spaced therefrom. The acoustical generator directs ultrasonic acoustic signals in a variable frequency range toward the shield to frighten rats or other vermin therefrom. Should the acoustical signals not deter the vermin, the electric grid will shock any vermin making contact therewith to cause harm and frighten. The shield provides another obstacle to prevent advancement and is affixed to the sheath on the mooring line. The shield is flexible and remains in place during high winds and other adverse weather conditions.

Apparatus and method for controlling bedbugs

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 08:00:00 EDT

Mechanical expedients such as fan blades can be disposed in the flow path to apply mechanical killing forces and to blow debris off of adjacent grids. The organisms are directed to a collector which can be heated and which can contain insecticidal substances to provide additional killing expedients for the collected organisms. The flow rate and temperature ranges are adjustable to create sufficient heat and time of contact to kill selected organisms. The collector is especially useful for treating bedbug infestations without the need for toxic chemicals, long-term treatments which make the space being treated uninhabitable and other more extreme treatment regimens.

Line guiding spinner lure

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 08:00:00 EDT

A line guiding spinner lure is comprised of a line guide coupled to a wire form member frame, with at least one hook and spinner attached. The line guide optimally routes the fishing line from the line attachment means of a first spinner lure to a second trailing lure, eliminating line entanglement during casting and preventing spinner interference during retrieval of a multi-lure rig. The line guide can be a separately attached part, or it can be formed from a section of the wire form member itself. The line guide can be made from a metallic, elastomeric, or plastic material. The line guide feature provides a means for an angler to easily rig a trailing lure at a desired distance behind a line guiding spinner lure, significantly increasing the probability for both attracting and catching multiple fish on a single cast.

An improved cover for a pre-existing jig-type fishing lure comprises an elastomeric membrane which conceals a greater amount of the hard, weighted head of a pre-existing jig-type lure, as compared to prior art. One or more flap elements, a thin portion of the membrane located generally opposite a mount-enabling first aperture, a second aperture located generally opposite the mount-enabling first aperture, or a combination thereof, enables the improved cover to conceal more of the weighted head. The cover can be attached to or removed from the weighted head without having to break the line of an already-tied jig-type lure. The cover also enables fluttering fish attracting elements and the generation of acoustic stimuli while the lure itself remains stationary. The elastomeric membrane can further comprise a generally concave or flat surface to enable a pre-existing jig-type lure to exhibit an oscillating-type motion when retrieved.

Waterfowl decoy with lifelike feeding movement

Tue, 07 Apr 2015 08:00:00 EDT

A motorized decoy provides lifelike feeding motion by rotating a weighted head through a full 360 degrees. As the head passes the upper apex of rotation, a drive cam located on the drive shaft disengages from a cam located on the decoy head, thereby allowing the head to accelerate and plunge quickly into the water. This action simultaneously causes the rear of the decoy to rotate to a vertical orientation. The head pauses under water until the drive cam re-engages the head cam at the bottom point of the rotation and continues to rotate the head through a channel in the body. This redistribution of weight causes the body to return to a horizontal position. The head rotation continues to the apex and the cycle repeats. This motion also disturbs the surface of the water surrounding the decoy, which can impart motion to adjacent static waterfowl decoys.

If the problem requires personnel, the system may automatically schedule the service call based on a number of criteria.

Fishing hook

Tue, 31 Mar 2015 08:00:00 EDT

A fishing hook has a head having at least two vertically arranged holes through which a fishing line is inserted. When the fishing line is threaded through both of the vertically disposed holes, the hook is stabilized in a substantially orthogonal posture relative to the fishing line, thus enhancing the likelihood of catching fish, especially with a drop-shot technique. Because the single head is small and compact, it is not exposed when the lure is affixed to the hook, thereby improving the likelihood that fish will be tempted by the lure.

Flexible fishing jig

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 08:00:00 EDT

A fishing jig with a flexible shank allows a minnow on the fishing jig to swim free. This natural movement of the minnow entices a predator to feed while foraging. Predators not foraging are enticed into a reaction strike with the use of various types of terminal tackle, such as colored beads, blade spinners, turbo spinners and the like. The fish hooks and the jig head can be matched to meet the fishing conditions and type of fish being targeted. For example, a heavier jig head can be used with a smaller fishing hook for fishing smaller fish in deep water.
