A method (and structure) includes forming a wireless ad hoc network with a plurality of sensors at a first location, the ad hoc network being a localized, decentralized network wherein each participating sensor has an equal status on the network for performing network functions and is free to associate with any other ad hoc network device in a link range of a vicinity of the first location. Data is transmitted from the plurality of sensors via the ad hoc network, for consumption by an at-home user located at a second location different from said first location. Each sensor indicates a location and a directivity of sensing in the vicinity of the first location, so that the plurality of sensors thereby can provide data sufficient for the at-home user to be immersed in an experience at the first location.

MOBILE TERMINAL AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

Thu, 16 Feb 2017 08:00:00 EST

A mobile terminal may continuously provide information corresponding to video data included in a region selected from a reproduction screen, even though outputting of the reproduction screen output on a touch screen is limited. The mobile terminal includes a touch screen configured to output a reproduction screen corresponding to video data, a user input unit configured to receive a user input limiting outputting of the reproduction screen, and a controller configured to output list information regarding a plurality of preset regions included in the reproduction screen when the user input is received, and extract video data corresponding to a selected region on the basis of a touch applied to the list information, wherein the controller may form a control command for outputting summary information corresponding to the extracted video data over time.

METHOD, DEVICE, AND SYSTEM FOR SWITCHING AT A MOBILE TERMINAL OF A SMART TELEVISION AND ACQUIRING INFORMATION AT A TELEVISION TERMINAL

Thu, 16 Feb 2017 08:00:00 EST

A method, a public account server, and a mobile terminal for sending and generating a card are disclosed. The method includes: acquiring user information and card information of the mobile terminal; generating card data for the mobile terminal by using a preset card data model according to the user information and the card information of the mobile terminal; and sending the card data to the mobile terminal, so that the mobile terminal receives the card data, acquires a card template corresponding to the card data, and generates the card by using the card data and the card template.

METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND MEDIA FOR PRESENTING SUGGESTIONS OF MEDIA CONTENT

Thu, 16 Feb 2017 08:00:00 EST

Methods, systems, and media for presenting suggestions of media content are provided. In some implementations, the method comprises: determining an item of media content; determining a probability of the item of media content being watched at one or more times based on at least one of: a characteristic of a person; a characteristic of a group; and a characteristic of the item of media content; creating a user interface which suggests that the item of media content be watched at one or more times based on the determined probability; and presenting the user interface.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR IMPLEMENTING DYNAMIC PROGRAM GUIDES ON MOBILE DEVICES

Thu, 16 Feb 2017 08:00:00 EST

Mechanisms are provided for allowing a mobile device to dynamically obtain program guide data. A mobile device having the capability of playing media streams is configurable to dynamically request program guide structure information followed by program guide content information. In one example, the program guide structure information allows a user to begin navigating the program guide data in an active and dynamic manner. Program guide content information including data such as program titles, times, icons, and links are then downloaded and displayed as needed. Potentially limitless amounts of program guide data can be provided on a mobile device. Program guide content information can be provided in a generic manner while allowing user layout customization. Program guide information can also be preemptively provided to a mobile device based on a variety of criteria.

INTERACTIVE PROGRAMMING GUIDE

Techniques of providing an interactive programming guide with a personalized lineup are disclosed. In some embodiments, a profile is accessed, and a personalized lineup is determined based on the profile. The personalized lineup may comprise a corresponding media content identification assigned to each one of a plurality of sequential time slots, where each media content identification identifies media content for the corresponding time slot. A first interactive programming guide may be caused to be displayed on a first media content device associated with the profile, where the first interactive programming guide comprises the personalized lineup.
