A metal substrate includes a first insulating substrate, a second insulating substrate, a first metal layer and a second metal layer. The first insulating substrate has a first modified surface and a second surface opposite to the first modified surface. The first metal layer faces the second surface. The second insulating substrate is bonded on the first modified surface, such that the first insulating substrate is between the second insulating substrate and the first metal layer. The second metal layer is disposed on a side of the second insulating substrate, such that the second insulating substrate is between the first modified surface and the second metal layer. An original surface roughness of the first modified surface has a variation substantially less than 10% after the first modified surface is released from the second insulating substrate.

A polymer film comprises a polymer composition containing (A) a cyclic olefin polymer containing an olefin unit having a C3-10alkyl group as a side chain thereof and (B) a chlorine-containing polymer. The chlorine-containing polymer (B) may comprise a vinylidene chloride-series polymer. The ratio of the chlorine-containing polymer (B) relative to 100 parts by weight of the cyclic olefin polymer (A) may be 0.5 to 60 parts by weight. The film has a moderate releasability from an electrolyte membrane and an electrode membrane of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell and a moderate adhesion to the electrolyte membrane and the electrode membrane and can adhere to a commonly-used substrate film without interposition of an adhesive layer such as an easily adhesive layer. The film is thus suitable as a release film for producing a membrane electrode assembly of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell.

A wafer support device that supports the semiconductor wafer supports the semiconductor wafer in the plasma processing chamber during the etching process. The wafer support device is coupled to and supported by a drive section that is arranged outside the plasma processing chamber. The drive section makes the wafer support device repetitively move scanningly in the plasma processing chamber in parallel with a wafer processing surface during the etching process.

A conductive grid formation system, apparatus, and related methods may include a drum having a conductive surface, an insulation layer coating said surface, and a grid pattern formed in the insulation layer to expose portions of the conductive surface. The drum surface may be rotated into and out of a chemical bath, such that a metallic grid is electrodeposited in the exposed portions of the conductive surface. A polymer sheet may be laminated to the surface of the drum and then removed, such that the metallic grid attaches to the polymer sheet and is removed with the polymer sheet. Heat, pressure, and/or adhesive may be utilized in various steps of the process, to facilitate preferential adhesion of the metallic grid to the polymer sheet.

In an embodiment, the bitumen source material can have a softening point of at least approximately 93° C. and a penetration distance no greater than approximately 25 dmm. In another embodiment, the roofing-grade asphalt mixture can have a softening point of at least approximately 104° C., a penetration distance no greater than approximately 12 dmm, a viscosity of at least approximately 3000 cps at a temperature of 204° C., or any combination thereof. The asphalt mixture can be applied to a base material to form a roofing product. The asphalt mixture can be applied as a pavement product.

Disclosed is a foam modifier, e.g., useful for gypsum or cement slurries. The foam modifier comprises a fatty alcohol that is added to a gypsum or cement slurry that includes foaming agent, such as an alkyl sulfate surfactant. The fatty alcohol can be a C6-C16 fatty alcohol in some embodiments. The use of such a foam modifier can be used, for example, to stabilize the foam, reduce waste of foaming agent, improve void size control in the final product, and improve the gypsum board manufacturing process.

A manufacturing method uses a main body piece formed of an elastic fabric material and having a first portion having a first end, a second portion having a second end opposite the first end, and two side ends extending between the first and second ends. A bonding material is placed in contact with the first and/or second portions, arranged in lines extending in a direction between the first and second ends. The lines are spaced from each other in a second direction extending between the side ends. The main body piece is folded so that the first portion confronts the second portion, defining a fold line, where the bonding material is positioned between the first and second portions. The folded main body piece is then heat pressed and bent so the side ends are connected together to form a band having a tubular body defining a central passage.
