An HDME PTFE yarn according to the present invention is prepared by the steps of preparing the mixed PTFE powder; adding kerosene of about 18 to 25 wt. % as solvent to the mixed PTFE powder and maintaining the resultant for about 40 to 50 hours at the temperature of about 30 to 50° C.; extruding the resulting mixed PTFE into the form of rod at about 70 to 90° C.; calendering the rod into the form of sheet at about 100 to 150° C., the width of the sheet being about 100 to 300 mm and the thickness about 0.3 to 0.7 mm; folding the sheet to become a three layered sheet and passing through the three layered sheet in an oven of about 250 to 270° C. at a speed of about 10 to 40 cm per second; and drawing the three-layered sheet at the temperature of about 450 to 500° C. at the speed of about 30 to 100 cm/s and the drawing ratio of about 200 to 600%.

There is provided a vehicle-interior material, and in particular an instrument panel, which is thin, and which imparts a pleasant tactile sensation. In this integrated-urethane foam molded vehicle-interior material, a urethane foam layer is integrally molded between a resin skin material and a base material. The thickness of the urethane foam layer is 2.5-6.0 mm. The urethane foam layer is a foam body formed from a mixed solution comprising: a polyol mixture (P) which includes a polyol (resin) (A), a water-containing foaming agent (C), and a catalyst (D); and a polyisocyanate component (B). The foaming agent (C) content is 1.5-2.5 wt % when the total weight of (A) is used as a reference. The thickness of the resin skin material is 0.6-1.0 mm. The surface of the skin material is displaced at least 0.40 mm by a load of 10N, and is displaced 1.5-2.5 mm by a load of 40N.

Embodiments of hardfacing layers in which wear resistant particles are substantially uniformly distributed in a matrix material are provided. The composition and microstructure of the matrix material and the amount, size and distribution of the wear resistant particles can be such that the hardfacing is wear resistant but still retains some toughness. The matrix material may include two components, a first component including iron, chromium and nickel and a second component including chromium and a substantial amount of carbon. The combination of the two components provides hardness and toughness to the matrix material. In embodiments of the disclosure, the wear resistant particles include tungsten. A hardfaced article, in one embodiment, may be formed by fusion welding an austenitic stainless steel filler metal to the surface of a base metal, thereby generating a weld pool; and adding a plurality of particles including tungsten carbide to the weld pool.

In certain embodiments a method and system for laser-based material processing of a material is disclosed. In at least one preferred implementation temporally overlapping pulse series are generated with separate pulsed laser sources, for example nanosecond (NS) and ultrashort pulse (USP) sources (NS-USP). Pulses are delivered to the material as a series of spatially and temporally overlapping pulse pairs. The material can, but need not, be a transparent material. In some applications of transparent material processing, it was found the combination of pulses both substantially more material modification and high machining quality than obtainable with either individual pulse series taken alone. Other micromachining methods and arrangement are disclosed for formation of fine features on or within a substrate. Such methods and arrangements may generally be applied with a NS-USP combination, or with other sources.
