A cable holding element includes a base body and rows of latching projections that project from the base body to define at least one channel area for holding cable. The latching projections each have a first section and a second section. The first section and the second section form an acute angle towards the base body. A first row of latching projections opposes a second row of latching projections. The opposing latching projections cooperate to interlock without contact, in a comb-like manner to hold cable within the cable holding element and to form guiding structure that guides cable into and out from the channel area.

The upper free ends of the first and second arms are pivotally mounted to the upper plate, and the lower free ends of the first and second arms are pivotally mounted to the lower plate, such that the first and second arms are movable between retracted and extended positions. The first and second arms are fixed in the extended position relative to the upper and lower plate via fasteners inserted through holes in the upper and lower free ends of the arms and in the upper plate, the pivotal mounts and the holes defining a desired angle between the first and second arms in the extended position.

Various intelligent stands are disclosed that sense potential changes in their position and environment such that they can provide an alert and feedback to a user of the stand or software that is being used in conjunction with a portable Coordinate Measuring Machine (“CMM”) if movement or an environmental change has occurred that may impact the accuracy of a measurement made by a CMM that is being supported by the intelligent stand. In various embodiments, the smart stand also contains onboard software capable of collecting data from a CMM eliminating the need for a separate computer with associated measurement software. The smart stand also has the ability to work with a network of other wireless sensors that can be attached to the part of interest or objects in the environment to sense if the part has been bumped or the extended environment has changed.

A pipe mat for use with a tubing tray for receiving, organizing and storing drill pipe tripped out of a drill string on a drilling rig has a plurality of substantially parallel and spaced-apart support rails to form a plurality of drain channels disposed between adjacent pair of support rails. A plurality of substantially parallel and spaced-apart nub rails is disposed on the plurality of support rails. The nub rails are substantially orthogonal to the support rails, thereby forming a lattice structure having openings disposed between the nub rails that are in communication with the drain channels. A plurality of spaced-apart pipe nubs extend upwardly from the nub rails, which hold a drill pipe in place when an end of the drill pipe is placed onto one of the pipe nubs. A method for collecting fluids draining from drill pipe uses the pipe mat with the tubing tray.

Several studs are provided on the wire to hold the wire onto the scroll having two mounting brackets and two holes. Each bracket is located on either end of the scroll to affix the scroll to a wall. The first hole is configured for holding an extension arm and the mounting bracket, while the second hole is threaded for grasping the stud that holds the wire. A nut is placed on the stud to keep the washer of the wire to avoid a disconnection of the wire from the scroll.
