The crimp tooling member has a forming profile recessed from a bottom side of the crimp tooling member. The forming profile is configured to engage a crimp barrel of the terminal as the crimp tooling member moves towards the anvil during a crimping operation to crimp the crimp barrel into mechanical and electrical engagement with an electrical wire disposed within the crimp barrel. The forming profile defines at least one pocket along a top-forming surface of the forming profile that extends between two side walls of the forming profile. Each pocket is configured to form a corresponding protrusion in the crimp barrel of the terminal during the crimping operation.

A terminal position assurance (TPA) (30) may be located on the bottom of the connector main body and when engaged, ensures proper positioning of the engaged wire terminal.

The inner bore of the torque sleeve is dimensioned to allow the torque sleeve to fit over the back end cap of the coaxial connector and yet engage with the nut on the front of the coaxial connector. The torque sleeve may also have features to ensure that it stays in place over the coaxial connector and/or to promote continuity of grounding connection between the coaxial connector and interface port. The torque sleeve may be used for jumper cables, which possess a length of wire and two coaxial connectors.

The cable attachment portion may also define a knurled pattern in an interior surface of the cable attachment portion, such as a knurled pattern having a number of rhomboid-shaped indentations.

A surge-protected coaxial termination includes a metallic outer body, a center conductor extending through a central bore of the outer body, and a spark gap created therebetween to discharge high-voltage power surges. A plurality of dielectric insulators surrounds the center conductor on opposite sides of the spark gap. High impedance inductive zones surround the spark gap to form a T-network low pass filter that nullifies the additional capacitance of the spark gap. An enlarged portion of a center conductor mitigates deleterious effects of arcing. An axial, carbon composition resistor is disposed inside the outer body, and inside the dielectric insulator to absorb the RF signal, and prevent its reflection.

The operating button (15), which is mounted in this button opening (16) such that it can be displaced, forms part of the wall arrangement of the conductor insertion opening (12). Starting from a mouth section (50) which adjoins the conductor insertion opening (12), the button opening (16) is widened in the direction of the hack (51) of the button opening (16), said back being situated opposite the conductor insertion opening (12). The cross section of the operating button (15) is matched to the widening contour of the button opening (16).
