LAPD haven’t given up the search for Biggie’s killer and Chris Rock will be happy to hear this.

The government must abhor rap considering they never investigate rappers’ murders joked by comedian Rock in 2004.

"… the U.S. government hates rap. You know why I say that? Because they don't arrest anybody that kills rappers. They don't got no clues, no suspects. They don't have shit when there's a dead rapper. They don't fill out a police report, they don't even have a chalk line when there's a dead rapper. Shit, if you want to get away with murder all you got to do is shoot somebody in the head and put a demo tape in their pocket ... ‘This is a rap killing, let's go home.’ ”

According to CNN, the agencies began to pursue leads again a couple of months ago upon discovering additional evidence and combining the efforts of the Los Angeles Police Department, L.A. County District Attorney’s Office and the FBI.

"I think I was getting too close to the truth," Poole said.

Poole points a finger at former police officer David Mack, who was sent to prison the same year Biggie was killed for robbing a bank. Mack was released from federal prison on May 14.

As to why the case wasn’t solved Poole said, "I think they feared the truth would be a scandal."

2010-11-25T11:14:17.970-08:00

Want to hear something funny?Well, don't look hear. We're all business today. But if you're in the mood to chuckle, try checking Kanye West's latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. On "Blame Game," a track featuring John Legend on the hook, another special guest makes an appearance: Chris Rock. After Kanye drops a couple verses about the aftermath of a relationship gone wrong (Hm ... are you listening, Amber?!), Rock drops some funny punchlines, adding an exclamation to Kanye's message of heartbreak. This particular tactic isn't new to the rap game. Rather than try and be funny themselves, there are plenty of rappers who have turned to comedians to appear on their albums in order to inject a comedy routine into the mix. In honor of Chris Rock's latest appearance—and in honor of the fact that he's also reportedly narrating Busta Rhymes's entire next album—RapFix gathered a group of 10 comedians who have appeared on rap albums in the past. No joke: these guys provided some of the best laugh tracks we've ever heard. The Comedian: Cedric the EntertainerThe Appearance: On Kanye West's 2004 debut, The College DropoutThe Result: Does 'Ye have a thing for comedians? Why, yes he does. (Hint: This isn't the only comedian to appear on a Kanye album on this list). Big Ced did his thing on the Chicago MC's album by playing the role of an administrator at a school. And, boy, do we wish we went to that school growing up.The Comedian: Dave ChappelleThe Appearance: On Reflection Eternal's 2000 album, Train of ThoughtThe Result: Yo, did you know that even Nelson Mandela was checking for Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek back in 2000?!? Um, yeah. Sort of. The former Chappelle's Show host did a spot-on impression of the former South African impression in support of the guys. Good one, Dave. The Comedian: Katt WilliamsThe Appearance: On several Dipset-affiliated releasesThe Result: Once a full-fledged members of the Dips (yo, how come no one called him for the reunion?!), Katt's gone as far as releasing his own Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama in 2007. No, we're not kidding. The Comedian: Tony RobertsThe Appearance: On Styles P's 2007 album, Super Gangster (Extraordinary Gentlemen)The Result: The former Def Comedy Jam and "ComicView" performer talked real greasy on a couple of skits from the Ghost's solo project—and ended up a ghost. Damn, Styles, you really don't know how to take a joke, do you? (just kidding, dude!)The Comedian: Mike EppsThe Appearance: On Gucci Mane's 2009 album, The State Vs. Radric DavisThe Result: Epps, who has also starred in several skits for Jim Jones, provided some commentary about how gangsta he was compared to Gucci Mane as he played the role of a character named "Toilet Bowl Shawty." Anything for a laugh! The Comedian: Kevin HartThe Appearance: On T.I.'s post-prison 2010 mixtape, F--- A MixtapeThe Result: Kevin Hart (aka K-Hart as he refers to himself here?) leaves Tip a less-than-encouraging voice mail. Earmuff the kids—this is one funny skit! The Comedian: Tracy MorganThe Appearance: On Ghostface, Method Man and Raekwon's 2010 album, Wu-MassacreThe Result: We're still not 100 percent sure how Morgan's skit titled "How To Pay Your Rent" fit into the grand scheme of things, but we did learn one thing: If you're looking for this comedian to pay your rent, you better think again. Straight comedy. The Comedian: Lil DuvalThe Appearance: On T.I.'s F--- A Mixtape ... mixtapeThe Result: K-Hart wasn't the only one to get some shine on Tip's comeback mixtape. Lil Duval also donated a couple of punchlines to the cause. Okay, we get it, fellas: F--- a mixtape! The Comedian: Bernie Mac, pl[...]

Chris Rock Comedian Calmer

2010-06-12T12:09:44.610-07:00

(image)
Chris Rock claims he is much calmer now he is older because he has realised he doesn't have the ability to change the things that fill him with rage.
Chris Rock has calmed down as he has got older.
Comic the 45 year old - who has daughters Lola, eight, and Zahra six year old with wife Malaak Compton Rock used to be known for his vitriolic rants about political issues, but he has now curbed his anger because he knows he can't change things.
He said: "What intelligent being still has the same amount of anger 20 years later on?
"I'm angry about there are still things, don't get me wrong. But you calm down. And you realise you can't change most of that's going on. You realise you're just a man."
Chris admits he is content with his life, but doesn't think his happiness will stop his stage routines from being funny.
He added: "I'm a pretty happy guy. And I don't think that hinders me. If I had to go on tour next month I think I could come up with a pretty funny act."

Chris Rock Americanizes 'Death at a Funeral'

2010-04-19T02:01:44.602-07:00

CHRIS ROCK doesn't view the world in black and white, especially when it comes to comedy.
"I come from the same line as Richard (Pryor), Eddie (Murphy) and (Bill) Cosby," says the veteran funnyman. "But I'm also a descendant of George Carlin and Rodney Dangerfield. When I was a kid, I didn't think of Rodney Dangerfield as a funny white guy. We just saw him as a funny guy."
The same goes for his movies. Rock doesn't see his remake of the 2007 British comedy "Death at a Funeral" as a "black" comedy. It's simply a comedy. If there's any label to be put on it, it's an American comedy, he says.

"When you define it as a 'black comedy,' it somehow lessens it, makes it smaller," he says. "I think we've made an American family comedy, even though it's rated R. It's got a big, great cast, black and white. All the people that aren't in a Tyler Perry movie right now are in this movie."
The 45-year-old saw the original "Death at a Funeral," directed by Frank Oz ("Bowfinger"), at an art house theater. He recalls the audience was fairly small -- maybe 12 people -- but they appeared to enjoy the irreverent comedy.
"People were laughing their (behinds) off," recalls Rock, "and to me that said: This is a pop movie. I just thought the jokes would work in America."
The comedian and actor figures he was probably the "only black man in America" who saw the movie, which earned a paltry $8.5 million at the box office in the United States. Savvy to the current enthusiasm for ensemble comedies like "Pineapple Express," "The Hangover" and "Valentine's Day," Rock saw potential in the source material.
"A lot of things are collaborations," observes the former "Saturday Night Live" cast member. "They're not doing a lot of one-guy comedies right now. I thought the fact that ('Death at a Funeral') had a lot of funny parts was perfect for me. I didn't want to have to carry the whole movie."
Rock's instincts were on target. He quickly got Sony Pictures on board, and he recruited filmmaker-playwright Neil LaBute, with whom he had collaborated on the 2000 dark comedy "Nurse Betty," to helm the remake.
He called up his old friend Martin Lawrence, who had opened for him on a stand-up gig years ago, to join the cast. He credits Lawrence as "the only comedian to blow me off the stage." Also joining the ensemble were "30 Rock" and fellow "SNL" alum Tracy Morgan, Danny Glover, Luke Wilson, Loretta Devine, Keith David, Regina Hall, James Marsden, Zoe Saldana and Peter Dinklage, who reprises the role he played in the original.
Rock worked with the original movie's writer, Dean Craig, on adapting the script to give it an American voice and sense of humor.

A 'Merry' time with Chris Rock: Comedian wants 'Hannah Montana'

2010-02-02T06:18:09.068-08:00

(image) Chris Rock, known for edgy comedy, says he got into DreamWorks' "Madagascar" franchise for the "Hannah Montana money."

"You know, you get in with the kids and that definitely can't hurt," Rock told reporters in a conference call.

Wednesday at 8, NBC will premiere "Merry Madagascar," a holiday cartoon based on the "Madagascar" films; it features favorites Alex (Ben Stiller), Marty (Rock), Melman (David Schwimmer) and Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith).

After Santa (Carl Reiner) crash-lands on the island, it's up to the Central Park Zoo-sters to help deliver presents and save Christmas. Though their initial motive may have been a sleigh ride back to New York City, somewhere along the way, the four rediscover the magic of giving.
Rock says even though his Marty voice is different from his normal voice, kids still recognize him every time he opens his mouth. "The looks on their faces, it's like, 'Wow, I can't believe its him!'" said Rock. "They get very excited. And my youngest daughter, Zahra, is a bragger. She's very quick to tell people her daddy is Marty the zebra."

The billion dollar black 'good hair' industry to the Chris Rock

2009-11-19T11:32:40.344-08:00

Emmy winning comedian to a Chris Rock , devoted husband and loving father --but this funnyman it's time to get to know a new side. Meet Chris Rock, hair expert. It's a detour he took after an innocent carpool ride left Rock with an idea he just couldn't shake."I was with my daughter one day, and we're in the car and she's with one of her friends in the back seat, a little white friend," he says. "She was just kind of raving about her friend's hair a little too much for my comfort [saying]: 'You've got great hair. Oh, your hair's so good.'"Not wanting to make her comments a big deal, Rock says he tried to play his them off. "[I said]: "Oh, baby, your hair's beautiful. Come on,'" he says. "If I would have really reacted, then she would have a complex about her hair."Still, Rock couldn't let it go. "It sparked something in me," he says.Oprah.com: Oprah's hair throughout the years! What Rock discovered is a $9 billion industry that affects the daily activities, wallets, self esteem -- and even the sex lives -- of black women. Because women spend so much time and money on their hair, Rock says men are forced to adopt a hands off policy. If you've got a weave, your scalp's like a beat up highway--Chris Rock "You cannot touch a black woman's hair. You are conditioned not to even go there," he says. "When I was a dating guy, I dated women from different races. Anytime I was with an Asian or a Puerto Rican girl or a white girl, my hands would constantly be in their hair. Like my hands were thirsty."One of the first lessons Rock learned on this journey was that women do their hair for one another. "They say it's for the men, but it's actually for the women. Because guys don't care," he says. "There's no point in the history of the world where men were not sleeping with the women in front of them. We take what we can get."Actress Nia Long, who Rock interviews in the film, agrees. "There's always this sort of pressure within the black community like, if you have good hair, you're prettier or better than the brown skinned girl that wears the Afro or the dreads or the natural hairstyle," she says.Oprah.com: Oprah's stylist reveals his hair secretsRock found the biggest moneymaker in the hair business to be weaves. Black women can spend six to eight hours getting their hair braided into tiny sections. Stylists then delicately attach tracks of hair -- which can be simple extensions or full wigs -- to the braids."If you've got a weave, your scalp's like a beat up highway," Rock jokes.Women who wear weaves stop by the salon for regular washes, conditioning and tightening, but the real expense lies with the hair itself. Rock says he was shocked to learn that regular women spend thousands of dollars on weaves -- and even put them on layaway."Janet Jackson spends $5,000 to go to the Grammys on her hair. I didn't know Kiki was spending $5,000 to go to AT&T and answer the phone," he says. "That was disturbing."Rock discovered the hottest hair on the market is found in India, where human hair is the number two export behind software. "This is some of the worst poverty in the world," he says. "I don't think [people] know they're walking around with $1,000 on their head."While in India, Rock witnessed a tonsuring ceremony at the Venkateswara Temple. Every year, more than 10 million people cut their hair off as an offering to the Hindu gods. "In India, hair is considered a vanity, and removing hair is [...]
