Kung Fu Panda 2

One of my most likable animated movie, Kung Fu Panda 2 brings back nearly the entire cast of characters from the first movie but, instead of recycling the original storyline, screenwriters Jonathan Aibel & Glenn Burger and first-time director Jennifer Yuh use this opportunity to expand the main character's back story and explore some dark corners and crevices of the world in which these talking animals exist. The production is still family-friendly and includes the kind of easily accessible humor for many kids and adults (including me) love about animated fare, but there's no getting away from some of the adult themes that crop up.

A fantastic sequel with more pathos than expected with plenty of gorgeous animation. The massive amount of artistry that has gone into the cinematography, lighting and design makes this as sumptuous and pleasing a film to behold.  Furtheremore, this movie that upgrade to 3D is worth while, the story is a solid refinement of the best bits from before and the balance between light humour and darker drama is quite well maintained.

Jack Black once again shows his excellence as a versatile actor especially in voice dubbing.  There's some platonic (with possible future romantic implications) chemistry between Po and Angelina Jolie's Tigress who, like Po, enjoys the introduction of a back story. Gary Oldman's voice alone makes Shen a malevolent entity. Dustin Hoffman's Master Shifu barely sounds like the actor.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

"Dark of the Moon” is one of the few recent 3-D movies that justify the upcharge. Mr. Bay(movie director) clearly enjoys playing with the format, which is also to say that he takes it seriously. A lot of glass and metal comes flying at your head, and you feel surrounded, plunged into a universe governed by new and strange laws of physics. Nothing you see makes any sense at all, but the sensations are undeniable, and kind of fun in their vertiginous, supercaffeinated way.

Featuring Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) taking his first tenuous steps into adulthood while remaining a reluctant human ally of Optimus Prime. The film centers around the space race between the U.S.S.R. and the USA, suggesting there was a hidden Transformers role in it all that remains one of the planet's most dangerous secrets. The villain in this third film is the Shockwave.

The Autobots like freedom, the Decepticons do not, and mankind — or at least American mankind, which also likes freedom, as well as the cars and guns that symbolize it — is on the side of the Autobots. But there are traitors, both human and metallic, which makes things complicated in the sense that more exposition is required, and plot twists need to be handled with screaming instances of narrative torque.

The other new casts in the movie  includes Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as Carly. She replaced the role of Megan Fox as the leading lady of Shia LaBeouf, John Malkovich as Bruce Brazos, Ken Weon as Jerry Wang and Patrick Dempsey as Dylan.

The Social Network

From director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin comes The Social Network, a film that proves you don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies. Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history, and the founder of Facebook. For this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications. The film comes down to a mesmerizing portrait of a man who in any other age would perhaps be deemed nuts or useless, but in the Internet age has this mental agility to transform an idea into an empire. As the movie makes abundantly clear, the facts behind its founding are in dispute but, without a doubt, Zuckerberg did create Facebook. Yet far from celebrating this feat, the movie examines how a man who cares little about money became the world's youngest billionaire yet lost his one true friend. The story thus becomes a tale of power, fame, betrayal, revenge and responsibility. New Wonder Woman TV

The pilot for a new Wonder Woman TV series is being made for NBC and is being executive produced by David E. Kelley. Adrianne Palicki plays the character as Wonder Woman, with Tracie Thomas playing alter-ego Diana’s assistant, Etta. Elizabeth Hurley will guest as villain Veronica Cale. Others in the cast include Cary Elwes and Pablo Pascal.

The pilot is currently being shot in Los Angeles and production will continue at least through the end of the month. Once the network sees the pilot, executives will decide whether to move ahead with it as a series. Unless it’s a disaster, it’s hard to imagine that the ratings-challenged network would pass on a project that’s getting so much early interest.

The L Word

The L Word is a drama tv series that portrays the lives of a group of lesbian, bisexual and transgender women and men and their friends, family and lovers in the trendy Los Angeles-area city of West Hollywood.

The pilot episode premiered on January 18, 2004. The sixth and final season is to premiere on February 22, 2009. Outside the US, the series is distributed by MGM Worldwide Television. The show was created and is executive-produced by Ilene. Other executive producers include Steve and Larry Kennar. Besides Chaiken, writers of the show have included Guinevere Turner and Rose Troche.

The episodes focused on the relationships between the principal characters, their family members, their friends, and their "outside" lovers. Jennifer Beals played the role as Bette Porter, an art museum director and unabashed control freak, who in the first season lived with her longtime partner Tina Kennard (Laurel Holloman), who chose to stay at home and assume the "housewife" role. And after being artificially inseminated, were both wife and mother in the relationship. Ultimately, Bette and Tina broke up over Bette's infidelity. The series' "audience-identification" character was Jenny Schecter, a talented writer who had moved next door to Bette and Tina to live with her fiancé, and later husband, Tim Haspel (Eric Mabius).

Unavoidably drawn into her neighbors' circle of lesbian friends, Jenny gradually came out of the closet herself, having a torrid affair with sexy coffee shop owner Marina Ferrer (Karina Lombard), breaking up with Tim, and entering into a series of not-altogether-satisfying affairs, and all the while trying to emerge from the shadow of a spectacularly miserable childhood. The "comedian" of the bunch was Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Hailey), a glib-tongued bisexual journalist who had a habit of speaking first and thinking second. Also in the cast were Katherine Moening as Shane McCutcheon, a troubled promiscuous hairdresser. Erin Daniels as Dana Fairbanks, a professional tennis player who struggled with whether to stay in the closet professionally and whose insecurities made it hard for her to find a girlfriend; and Pam Grier as the only certified "straight" member of the group, Bette's older half sister and formerly successful singer, Kit Porter.

The cast in the second season included sexy deejay Carmen de la Pica Morales (Sarah Shahi), who at one point carried on simultaneous affairs with Jenny and Shane; wealthy Helena Peabody (Rachel Shelley), daughter of an influential female art collector; and documentary and adult filmmaker Mark Wayland (Eric Lively), who became Shane and Jenny's housemate.

Kath & Kim

(image) Kath & Kim at it’s face seems like normal sit-com dreck, but this one might be different. The comedy hopes to duplicate the success of the Australian version, that had a cult fan base up until the end of the fourth and last season in 2007. Molly Shannon is finally back from wherever she went after Saturday Night Live and she plays Selma Blair’s mom. Blair is returning home because her marriage is over, O-V-U-R. It’s a show that will bring the laughs.

Kath & Kim are suburban nightmares living the suburban dream. Kath is a forty-something single lady who likes to keep herself trim, and cleanses and tones of an evening. She's proud of her townhouse and considers herself high maintenance. Her daughter Kim is a pouting princess whose glass of Bailey's Irish Cream is always half empty rather than half full and believes she's a horn bag in anyone's language. With Kath's new fiancé Kel, Kim's second best friend Sharon, and her estranged husband Brett, they love to make mountains out of molehills and sours ears out of silk purses. How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM)

(image) How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) is a CBS sitcom premiered on September 19, 2005. Created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, the show received generally positive reviews. TV Guide gave it the "Editor's Choice" honor in its Fall Preview Issue. Thomas and Bays drew from their friendship in creating the characters, with Ted based loosely on Bays and Marshall and Lily based loosely on Thomas and his wife.

Dubbed "A love story in reverse," the show is structured as the main character, Ted, in the year 2030 telling his son and daughter about the events that led to his meeting their mother, which begin in 2005. The show frequently explores the concepts of stories and storytelling usually with multiple flashbacks occurring each episode. Seeing the show in non-chronological order often results in the viewer seeing something happen and then finding out later the events that caused it. This effect has been dubbed "deep frying" the story, a reference to the show's director, Pamela Fryman. This structure necessitates many more scenes than the average sitcom; therefore the show is not filmed before a live studio audience despite being shot in the traditional sitcom format. Laughter is not recorded until the episode is shown to an audience after it has been completely edited together.

How I Met Your Mother has been renewed for a third season and premiered last September 24, 2007. The show has moved back to its old time slot, 8ET / 7CT.

Alex Fletcher is a former pop star. He enjoyed considerable fame and success during the 1980s and early 1990s as one of the founding members of the band "Pop!". Fifteen years after PoP! disbanded, Alex has acknowledged that he is a popular person. Step Up 2

Step Up 2 the Streets is the sequel of the smash hit Step Up which ignited theaters in August 2006. It is story of a 16-year old rebellious street dancer Andie West played by Briana Evigan. After her mother died, she was taken in by her mother's best friend, Sarah. Since Andie often skips school and spends too much time as member of the notorious dance crew 410, Sarah wants her to go live with her aunt in Texas.

Meanwhile, her friend and older brother figure, Tyler Gage played by Channing Tatum (leading man in Step Up) convinces Sarah to give her another chance. She lands at the elite Maryland School of the Arts. She finds herself fighting to fit in while also trying to hold onto her old life. When she joins forces with the school’s hottest dancer Chase to form a crew of classmate outcasts to compete in Baltimore’s underground dance battle called The Streets, she ultimately finds a way to live her dream while building a bridge between her two separate worlds.

After a humiliating prank from MSA, the 410 crew attacks Chase and vandalizes the school, after which Blake Collins, the director of the school and Chase's big brother, throws out Andie and forbids the school's students to participate in any competitions like The Streets.

A few days later while the school is hosting a fundraiser they all receive the text message telling them where 'The Streets' is being held. Andie chooses the ignore this but the other feel it nesessary to take part and go call on Andie, upon convincing her they head down the 8th and Main. They go to the building where the event takes place anyway, but the 410 do not let them compete as well as the crowd agrees. Since MSA believes the streets is more than just for dancing, they go in the streets, where the dancing really started, and perform in the pouring rain. Blake, who is observing, is impressed enough to allow Andie to return to the school, and integrate the dance style into the school program.
