No matter how bad you are, it never means you can't get better

Fri, 21 Jan 2011 18:26:04 +0000

Not all games are the same. Some are board games, while others are video games. They are played for a wide a variety of reasons, the main one probably being entertainment. Other games seemed to be designed to educate you while having fun. While most games are simply played for the purpose of entertainment, the main goal for all games are the same: to teach a lesson. I enjoy playing games because they entertain me when I have nothing else to do. I haven’t played so many games that clearly had a lesson behind it, but whenever I do, I always learn something. It never hurts to learn a little more knowledge, even if it’s through games. It’d be hard to imagine a world without games.

Ayiti, Evoke, and McDonald's comparison

Tue, 13 Apr 2010 23:52:22 +0000

Ayiti and Evoke are are both educational games about world issues.  They teach how these issues affect peoples lives and others.  I played the Mcdonalds game and it shows how chain reactions work in order to display someone's life and how they have to work hard to succeed.  I lost really fast the first couple of times i played.  The game was very hard because you had to take care of a whole bunch of things.  You have to keep an eye on the farm, the factory, restaurant, and look at the business and happiness of costomers.  Compared to Ayiti and Evoke this is kind of an exageration of what really happens in real life.  Not one person runs all of the manufacturing business of mcdonalds.  Each person in the business has a different job.  The mcdonalds game is more like Ayiti beacause it takes more thinking.  You have to keep people happy, educated, jobless, and have enough money in order to succeed.  I don't think that Evoke is a game at all beacause all you do is read comics and articles and reflect on them. BORING!!

McDonald's v.s. Ayiti

Sun, 11 Apr 2010 16:25:21 +0000

Today I played the MsDonald's Video Game. I played many many times and failed all those times. I kept running out of patties or not having enough soy feed for the cows. These problems lead to having to grow more soy, destroying more forests, and losing money. Then, even more problems came up, like people protesting over you making people obese, cutting down too may forests and etc. The game showed you what the McDonald's company really does ; it showed you what work went into the hamburger you ate. It also showed you that even though it may not seem like it, running a company like McDonald's is really hard especially for a 7th grade student. However, it did remind me of the game Ayiti a bit. It reminded me of Ayiti because Ayiti also showed you what was really happening. It showed you what was really happening to some families in Haiti and how hard it was to support a family there. Like in the McDonald's Video game, money was one of the important things in Ayiti. In the McDonald's Video game, the money was all they cared about if you weren't making money , you weren't making progress. In the game Ayiti, you needed money to support you and your family.

McDonald's Corporate Meltdown vs. a Country in Need

Sat, 10 Apr 2010 17:06:47 +0000

I played the game, McDonald's the Video Game, where it was your job to help manage the chain restaurant by raising cows, growing soy to feed them, slaughtering them, and making sure that the business stayed afloat. My cows kept dying and my crops would never harvest at the right time. There were no customers, and the management of the company were getting really mad at me. I didn't win once, and I played for like 20 rounds. I guess that shows you that big chain businesses are bound to fail one day, or at least if you let a middle-schooler take control. The game reminded me of one of the other games that we played in Tech. class this semester. It was called Ayiti: The Cost of Life, wheree you were given a virtual family in Haiti tot take care of, making sure that they were safe, had food to eat, and had a good and happy life. That reminded me of how you had to keep the cows alive in the McDonalds's game, although the preservation of life in each is for totally different reasons. In Ayiti, you are supposed to keep the family safe from harm so that you realize how hard it is to stay safe and healthy in a tough environment like the one in Haiti.

Two Game Comparison

Wed, 07 Apr 2010 03:58:38 +0000

Not all games are the same. Some are video games while others may be board games. Whatever the type, they are played for entertainment. Others seem to be designed for educational purposes. They are created for a general audience in order to spread awareness about a certain topic. While some are played simply to pass time during boredom. Whatever game it is, the goals are always the same: so that people accomplish a certain mission or task in the game.

Ayiti and Need for Speed

Thu, 11 Mar 2010 00:10:31 +0000

The game Ayiti (Haiti) isn't my type of game I really don't play games at all. I just sit home and watch TV. The game was hard to play and I was confusing, Every time I would put one of the family members at work my. The only time I play games is when i have nothing to do.I like Need For Speed Pro Street and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Need for speed is a fun game to play is better then just sitting down playing a PC game. There more action, you can customize your own car and performance of your car. You can also take over your city to make your self known.

Everybody loves shooting games, Call Of Duty Modern warfare 2. That the most popular shooting game in the country. Who doesn't play that game. Honestly I was playing Call of Duty ever since the first one. I like to play it online for x box 360.

Why are games so addicting?

Wed, 10 Mar 2010 17:13:01 +0000

So my brother has the game system called Xbox right. He also has a game for it called Modern Warfare 2. He's so addicted to the game that when he comes straight home from school or work or hanging out, he goes straight to the living room, and turns on that specific game. He doesn't even take off his clothes or his coat or his shoes. He just plays.

He could even play for 6 hours straight with no water break or bathroom break. I think hes now crossed the line to addicted. I think its so sad. He always gets in trouble too because he doesn't do thingas that hes suppose to because hes so caught up. It's kind of pathedic to me.

I think he should stop before it ruins his life. Sometimes hes even late for school  or work because of his game addiction. His favorite line is "im live, so don't bother me". Ib hate when he says that it pisses me off so much. Hes soi ridiculous.

Why are people so addicted to these games. These games to me are pointless and maybe just a tad bit exciting. Im going to try to play this game one day so I can see what the fuss is all about

Comparing Game

Wed, 10 Mar 2010 03:32:27 +0000

Not all games are the same. There is a variety of different games you could play because you have the option to play a computer game or you could play a board game or a game on a console like X box 360 or Play Station 3 which are played for various reasons. For example a family might play connect four or monopoly. Others seem to be designed to fit the interest of the variety of society because not everyone likes to play the same type of games, while some people like shooter games others might enjoy racing. Whatever the game is, the goals are always the same which is to create a game that will not only be played world wide but keep gamers hooked for a long period of time so they can continue to profit. I enjoy playing games because when your playing a game you tend to put yourself in your gamers shoes so if your about to die or crash you jump or get nervous because you feel like the person your playing as is you and you wouldn't let yourself get hurt to you try to protect yourself or get out of the way in whatever the situation may be.

Counter Strike VS Ayiti

Tue, 09 Mar 2010 23:38:12 +0000

Games. I have played a lot of games and I am very good at games. Two games that I have played in my life are Counter-Strike and Ayiti: the cost of life. There are many differences when comparing these two games and not so many similarities. Counter-Strike is one of the most popular online multi-player games every played and Ayiti is not so well known and it just a browser game.

One of the games I have been addicted to for years now is Counter-Strike. Counter-Strike is one of my most favorite games and I have been playing it for many years now. Indeed I am very good at it. I have played this game mostly every day of my life. Well maybe not every day of my life but I have played it a lot. I think the reason I am so addicted to it is because I am so good at it.. and another reason is that its an online multi-player game so I can never get bored of it because something different always happens when I play it. Although I'm starting to get bored of it now.

Adventure (genre) Games vs Ayiti: the Cost of Life

Mon, 08 Mar 2010 21:32:38 +0000

Not all games are the same. Some are action games, strategy games, educational games, musical games, sports games, and more,  played for mostly recreational purposes. Others seem to be designed to make people have less stress and be more relaxed, while some are played simply for advertisement. Whatever game it is, the goals are always the same: to get over obstacles, and well, win the game. I like games because they encourage competition, but at the same time, they are well, fun and leisurely. Games are a great way to get away from stress, pressure, etc.

Ayiti and Wild Ones

Mon, 08 Mar 2010 03:13:05 +0000

Not all games are the same. Some are video games, board games and computer games played for enjoyment when you have some spare time. Others seem to be designed to educate people and send them a significant message about anything meaning a world wide or personal message. While some are played simply for entertainment and something to spend time with. Whatever game it is, the goals are always the same: to make you enjoy your time by playing this game. I enjoy playing games because I believe they are entertaining and some are brain challenges which may help you with your education. Playing games may both help you education wise and help you enjoy your time.

My comparison of Ayiti:Cost of Life and my favorite game.

Mon, 08 Mar 2010 02:48:42 +0000

Comparison of Ayiti: Cost of Life, and my favorite game.
by Emily Kerins

Not all games are the same. Some are played on the computer, or on a game console, or even outside, and these are all played for fun and joy. Others seem to be designed to possibly make money, or to show the players what something is actually like in reality. While some are played simply for enjoyment. Whatever game it is, the goals are always the same: to win. I like playing games because I think they are fun, no matter what type of game it is: a board game, a computer game, or a game I would have to walk outside and play. I like these types of games because they are fun, and I can always play them with a friend or family member.

Comparison between Guitar Hero and Ayiti

 by Noelani

Not all games are the same. Some are action, horror, fantasy, violence, brains, adventure, sports, reality, interactive, animals, artistic, architecture/design, survival, language, comedy, trivia or reflex games. Others seem to be designed to educate people and teach them about the world. While some are played simply for self pleasure. Whatever game it is, the goals are always the same: To gain experience and to win! I enjoy playing games for the satisfaction of winning. Winning a game makes me feel pround and like I achieved something. What I don't enjoy is loosing, and getting stuck in a game because if I don't eventually pass that stage, I give up and try again a while later.
