Great post and fantastic pictures! I've been following your blog for quite a while now and really enjoy your posts. I'm currently doing a PhD on Western travellers in East Tibet in the early 20th Century. I've made one trip out to Kangding, Sichuan and I'm hoping to go back at some point. Reminds me of a poem by Leo Dangle, a local poet: I say we split for Katmandu. Just drop it all, get on that long road for Nepal, because a cat can do in Katmandu what a cat can’t do in South Dakota.

I wish I had the money to fund your fantastic work until you retire! I heard the interview too, why do you say you are on this journey the last 2 Summers,? If i am not wrong you have been on this journey at least since 2007... Take care Bao Bao and keep us updated, Love, C.
