LET'S JUST START OUT BY SAYING: THIS IS GOING TO BE A SPECTACULAR DINNER EVENT!! Bin Ends is BEYOND thrilled to be partnering with Steel & Rye to bring you what is sure to be one of the highlight dinners of this calendar year. St George Spirits is widely regarded as one of America's first craft distilleries. Founded in 1982, you probably first became familiar with St George through their Hanger One Vodka project. Hailing from California, St George is based in a 65,000 sf hanger at the old Alameda Naval Air Station, though they only use a small fraction of the space. Thirty years in, founder Jorg Rupf and his master distillers Lance Winters and Dave Smith craft some of the finest spirits produced anywhere in the world. Hanger One may pay the bills, but the St George Spirits... THREE styles of Gin, a Whisky, Rum, Bourbon, and lest we forget ABSINTHE are where these boys work their magic. Kevin Fethe of St George Spirits will be our master of ceremonies and spirits raconteur for the evening. Now lets layer upon all this St George greatness, the mad skills of Steel & Rye chef/owner Chris Parsons and resident master mixologist Ted Gallagher... what you have here my friends is a full on, five alarm, barn burner of a craft cocktail dinner. Founder Don Julio Gonzalez established his first distillery in 1942. Breaking with local practice at the time, Don Julio built his business by focusing on quality over quantity. Painstaking effort was made along every step of the process from cultivating the agave, the selection and slow roasting or the pīna, to the fermentation and bottling of the finished spirit. Tequila Don Julio Brand Ambassador Jen Milkiewicz will be joining us for this special brunch and talking us about the history of Tequila Don Julio as well as discussing the various styles that we will be tasting. Working together with Bin Ends, Francisco & Jen have created a spectacular Sunday brunch menu of traditional Mexican entree's from the region of Jalisco which will be paired alongside four of the most popular and pairing friendly tequilas from Don Julio. Cielo proprietor Franciso Perez will serve as master of ceremonies for this entertaining afternoon of fine food, and very fine tequila.
