Comment on Russco Broadcast Turntables Circa 1980 by Glen

Thu, 12 Apr 2018 18:08:10 +0000

I was a personal friend of Russ at Russco. The truth about the evolution of the various broadcast turntables is simple. They all share common traits, with slight differences. A Collins designer went to QRK. A QRK designer went to Russco. That person was Russ Friend. None of TT's had patents. Many of the TT's; QRK and Sparta were made by Russco. Before Russ passed away, he told me the entire story. Russco did manufacturer the RTA tone arms. Each piece was milled in the shop. I have some of the jewels for that arm and the tool to insert them. Russ quit making them because they weren't cost effective.

Comment on Reeves Sound Studios NYC (1933 – 197X) by Anita

Sat, 07 Apr 2018 13:01:50 +0000

Hello! My name is Anita and I am from Serbia. I have found one record which is made in Reeves Soundcraft Corp. in 1959. The record is in bad condition. It has some white coat on it and I can not play it. On the record is writing says: "MJIGOSH SERBIAN CHURCH CHOIR". I am not sure what that can mean. Maybe you have some records from that time and tell me what is on it? Is it worth it to repair a record, if that is possible? Please, contact me at my email if you have any info about the record. Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad English! :)
