In my tweet about this post I used Tiny url preview. Weird. Why would anyone want to use it? Also not sure why the animated gif did not come through in this post. Anyone know?

Gardner: Should I be surprised that you found my post, considering it is exactly what you talk about in your presentation! Yes, your ideas have made a big impact on me. I just wonder how much independence can be granted to high school students, both legally and ethically. PS: I'm on to your "bags of gold".

I'm delighted my thoughts on PCI have been helpful and stimulated thought for you. I'm still working through these thoughts and trying to make them bigger. Posts like these stimulate my thinking and keep me going. I thank you. Good luck on your own journey. Your voice is clear and compelling.

Mohsen: that car was probably fashionable for the 1910's. Or maybe its timeless.

Wow, so nostalgic Kathy! An amazing photo, such a good car which looks very fashionable for that time and you were so young. Time has passed but I can't believe that pic is that old. Perhaps it reminds you many good memories.

Ditto! West Seattle HS 1968, UW 1972 and 77. That's funny. I had a friend who used to called Wenatchee "Wena-snatchie". But for the record, did he just make that up?

Whoa! Serious flashes backs! Great shot from the day! However, I'm not sure you're the only elder in this class; I graduated from high school in 1968; I think you're a year or two behind me. And you were in Seattle? I graduated from Wenatchee High School. University of Washington Class of 1972...your post is a great moment of time travel--thank you!

oh no.... grade school? Now I'm talking b&w.... Michael, I love your comment about emblems of "making things" in garages and sewing rooms. You are absolutely right and I hadn't thought of that. Garages and sewing rooms were the tinkering studios of the day. My grandmother made my prom dress and it was amazing.

It's kind of cool to see that you still have pictures like this. What's the Horsepower on that baby ahaha. Where was this taken?

That is an amazing car and those are awesome shorts! Reminds me of how my mother used to make my brother and I clothes, full on pants, shirts, suits, etc. Lots of crazy patterns bright colors, I'll do my best to find some photos of grade school. I'm with Jim that there was an amazing DIY spirit then. And I like thinking about garages and sewing rooms as emblems of a culture of self-sustained, life long learning. Very cool.
