Comment on The Shortest Path to ePub and Kindle from QuarkXPress by ThierryOger

Sat, 17 Mar 2018 15:15:29 +0000

Hi! I have done the layout of my book in QuarkXpress13.1 and want to publish it in Kindle or e-pub. But the drawings I inserted do not appear. I cannot find any clear tutorial to explain me what is wrong and the correct method to set the drawings in order to make them appear at the right place. Any idea to help me? Thanks

Did you know? QuarkXPress 2017 offers an IDML Import. So now you can also download free InDesign templates that are provided in IDML format. And then convert the IDML file to a QuarkXPress layout using File>New>Project from IDML. https://youtu.be/pPdXrrtl1Ag

Hi, I am researching QXML. Do you have more information for me? Is it part of Quark 2017? The links for the sample QXML do not seem to work, can you fix them please? Thank you.

Hi Debbie, have you tried deleting preferences? Please open a new ticket by sending an email to support@quark.com, containing the crash log. And pass me on your contact details, I'll see that I accelerate this. Thanks Matthias

Can anybody help me? I had been happily running QX 2015 until my iMac automatically updated the OS to 10.13 High Sierra. Too late! Never again. Since then Quark XPress refuses to even launch and all I get is the usual message from Apple stating "unexpectedly quit" etc. To cut a long story short I purchased QX 2017 (Education Edition again), assuming that would fix the problem. But no, it also crashes during launch. I'm now desperate to get my XPress 2017 up and working in Mac OS High Sierra. I had hoped to have had a reply from Quark's technical support again by now, but they seem to have washed thier hands of me. I have now removed ALL of the versions of Quark from our machine, including any subsidiary System and Library files, then undertook a full 'clean' install from the latest updated version (October update), again downloaded from the Quark site. However XPress still crashes out whilst trying to launch. I simply am unable to even get into the software. There HAS to be a simple solution to the cause of this failure, as ALL of the other software (Adobe, Microsoft) is working fine. I am a very busy English teacher with many files created in QXP that I need to access. I seem to have run out of options! Kind regards, Debbie

I cannot access the text box that has my grouped items in it. I can see the grouped items, but I cannot see the text box I put these items in (a map). I need to move it over, but I cannot access the box iteself. I only have one main box and the map box is within it. Grrr. I never had a problem with my old Mac, but the new Quark has almost driven me crazy.

You need to have a webserver running that allows json files, otherwise HTML5 Publications will not work. Thanks.
