Comment on Behringer’s so-called “website glitch” … do we believe them? by Pop

Well that made for painfully awkward reading. As for Behringer.. Its almost like they willingly took a steaming dump upon what little of their own self respect they had left.

Comment on Bastl’s tiny, patchable Kastle now more durable, sounds better by Martin Wheeler

I really like the Bastl crew and their whole approach ... but ... they sometimes need to be a bit more serious at actually doing what they say they are going to do. When they brought out their servo, solenoid, dc motor eurorack modules they said that they were currently testing a range of motors and would publish a list of easily obtainable things that worked well and where to buy them, and then start selling some sort of extension packs of motors etc to make it easier for people to get up and running. That was over 2 years ago and still hasn't happened ... and so there are several people with a bunch of those modules and still nothing that works well with them. They really should address this ASAP. They could take a lead from Koma who brought out their Field Kit and the very reasonably priced expansion pack with motors and sensors etc to go with it. I mean OK I appreciate the anarchic Bastl spirit, but hey ... ! Also tell them to hurry up and get the SoftPop out to dealers so I can buy one !

just so we all clear... News is information about current events. the “website glitch” being fake, is a fake current event, not fake news like cdm.

Maybe Germany is getting revenge on the US and Britain for Patton's phantom armored division.

Comment on Akai and Retronyms announce iMPC Pro 2 with audio tracks, AUv3, Link and a whole lot more by policarpo

This update looks and feels great. It’s so much easier to use. The workflow has definitely improved. I’ll give Retronyms the benefit of the doubt. I think they’ve learned an important lesson in not ignoring the needs of their customers...but for them the road to recovery is now in their hands. iMPC Pro 2 so far is fun to use and so straight forward. Really liking where it’s headed.

As a former employee of the company (working in product management), I would love to be able to take a shot at them for this. But the reality is that it IS possible that information put into one of the software packages used by the company could have been made live by accident. It's obvious that someone entered the information, since it showed up on the website in the first place. But the lack of any images makes me believe this was an accident and not intentional. If they were serious about the product and it had been at any stage other than research, Uli would have had the Mechanical and ID teams in the Manila office make a decent image for the product. In earlier stages this would have been a top down Illustrator image, but that would soon be followed up with a 3D model. So we know these projects have been entered into the system, assigned a product code, and some of the marketing info has been done (bullet points, product description, etc). But I really wouldn't read much into it. It would not surprise me at all if Uli put that into the system just to give himself targets. Likely products like these would be handled not by a real product manager, but an R&D team (since they're existing products).
