Mary Kay: When you look at the Louisiana Glog, it is a Glog that has several Glogs pasted on it. You have to click on the individual Glogs to see them full sized. Some of the individual Glogs are just pictures, but there are some that other info on them. I agree that the Glogs are better when they are personalized and have information not just pictures.

I also saw the Google Voice thing. I think it would be neat because in an emergency you could always be reached. Then I think about it again...I would always be reached. I'm not sure if I want that. Either way I think it is cool.

I agree with you. This class is taking up a lot more time than I thought it would. I'm learning a ton, but it takes more than the 2-3 hours a week, which I remember reading somewhere would be required. At first, I tried "skimming over" some of the 23 things, but that wasn't good. I totally missed part of one of the tasks. Oh well... thankfully I caught it. :) I really like the Free Technology For Teachers blog, too. That's one that I'm subscribed to, too.

First, I LOVE the web page look! Second, I didn't know that about Project Share and Region IV. That's pretty exciting info. We're getting closer and closer to the reality of having some truly meaningful technology in our teaching.

My hubbie says he doesn't need a google reader, since I forward him all the most interesting stuff. He says I am his google reader. :)

I was looking on your Go Animate link and I noticed a link for Xtra Normal. My husband teaches math and he used that site this year for a project. The students had to create an animation using the math academic language. He was trying to get the students to use math vocabulary. They loved it.

I understand your concern about students having the freedom to post anything they want. Our district is using a website called It has several components: email, blogging, social networking, online document creation, and more. Every component goes through a filter. The kids have access to all the web 2.0 tools, but if something inappropriate is typed or attached then it sends an email straight to me. I rarely have any issues.

My district limits it too. I have downloaded the videos and saved them on my computer at work.

Love the extra's on your blog. Our school limits the time we can stream, it makes for costs overruns. But I like the idea of useing YouTube this way.
