I don't think I've even heard of Dr Wortle's School before. Trollope is definitely longwinded but perhaps it wasn't his best? I've read the first three novels in the Palliser series and really enjoyed them. He's a very masculine, practical sort of writer, and I admire his no-nonsense approach to character, especially his female characters. He's not a bit sentimental like Dickens. I feel as though I could have a conversation with Trollope's women. Looking forward to your review of Corrag. I very much enjoyed it. :-)
