That seems to be the consensus. The unhappy ending really threw the whole movie into a negative light. I was okay with it not being her story but I did leave the theater in a dark mood. Thanks for the great comment. So well said!Mon, 04 Apr 2011 20:08:32 +0000
I just wanted to comment on Sucker Punch. I was not sure I wanted to see it - the plot looked dubious but the fantasy elements looked fantastic. I took a chance and went to see it in IMAX format. I think what ruined the whole movie for me was the lobotomy scene at the beginning. I've seen this plot device before and NEVER liked the outcome (twilight zone, Brazil). So, I knew she lost from the beginning and all the action and character growth seemed pointless as she was going to be an idiot in the end. The fact that another character was saved (the one who was most resistant to the whole plan) seemed a bit like trying to make the audience feel there was some reason for the whole adventure. If she had at least been taken out fighting, I could have appreciated that, but to walk to her lobotomy after creating all that havoc - no, can't wrap my head around that one. Too bad as I really wanted to enjoy this as a "leave my brain at the door" adventure film (no pun intended ;)Tue, 29 Mar 2011 23:04:06 +0000
Their publishing schedule is iffy. I'll wait for the complete trade. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jericho_Season_3_(comics)Tue, 29 Mar 2011 18:48:27 +0000
I enjoyed the first season but I thought the second season with it's budget cuts and dodgy blue / green screen work instead of location shots made it pretty much unwatchable with was a real shame, I'd heard they wanted to do comics to continue the story but I didn't realise they were actually doing them.Tue, 29 Mar 2011 12:52:34 +0000
They have had the Season 1 box set at Big Lots stores for $10 for a few months now, but I wouldn't buy it unless I had Season 2 to finish the series. I loved the show, but I'm not sure if it is so rewatchable. There is a comic series I'm waiting to finish and I will buy in trade format. It covers the stories after the show ends.Tue, 15 Mar 2011 01:17:55 +0000
Amazing series! It's up for instant play on Netflix (as of last night at least) but for the cost advertised above it's worth it to own it.Wed, 09 Feb 2011 16:42:24 +0000

This is the first SciFiDig podcast I downloaded and I just finished listening to it. Enjoyed the show and plan on downloading all of the episodes that I possibly can. I get your show through iTunes and I'm not sure any are available through iTunes before 258. For some reason, the next episode I have on my MP3 player is 271, so I'll have to check on iTunes later. Anyway, glad to hear a fellow WVian with a podcast and hope to find more! I'm a big fan of Supernatural too and have the first 3 seasons on dvd and have been renting the last 2 seasons from Netflix since our finances are a bit patchy now. I watch it on the local CW affiliate, also, but the reception isn't that good and I HATE COMMERCIALS! LOL! Thanks for giving me another great podcast to listen to! Would Love to have a great comic shop like Gary's around here, but none to be had like there used to be. Was one at Hurricane years ago, one in St. Albans and Huntington and I'm sure more, but they all seemed to die out several years ago. Thanks again!Fri, 21 Jan 2011 17:30:21 +0000
Yep Kolchak is one fun show, so is SciFi Dig, especially when that Australian guy is on the show :wink:Fri, 21 Jan 2011 15:24:07 +0000
