Trendy Long Hairstyles

(image)
long hairstyles

If you want to have a trendy hairstyle, then you should have a long hairstyle. That is and pretty much has been the case forever. Not all women, though, look good with long hair. If you are extra short, for example, you wouldn't want to have really long hair because it would make you look even shorter.

(image)
long hairstyles

The key to getting a long hairstyle to look right is to design the cut so that the face shape is flattered and facial flaws, such as a high forehead, wide face or narrow chin are accented or camouflaged with the haircut. Options for a long hairstyle include long or short layering, texturizing, side swept bangs or full bangs, thinning out and highlights or lowlights.

Sedu Hairstyles 2012

2011-12-19T13:32:09.895-08:00

Sedu Hairstyles Corpus Christi TXA new hair fashion among A-list celebrities is perfect, silky, sleek, straight hair. This fashion has become so popular that it has come to be known as sedu hair styles. These hair styles seem so perfect and straight that you may think that it would be impossible to achieve these styles without long visits to your hair salon. The truth is, however, that the majority of the current celebrities wearing this hair style do not actually rely on constant trips to the hair salon. Instead, a new technology known as sedu tourmaline hair straightened is used. One of the most popular straighteners on the market at the moment is the limited edition Solia pink hair straightener.Sedu Hairstyles Corpus Christi TXCelebrities best known for this hair style is Jennifer Aniston, Hilary Duff, and Jennifer Lopez, but the trend is quickly spreading. Adding a tourmaline straightener to your routine with help you achieve these same sedu hair styles. So why does the tourmaline hair iron work so much better then tradition straightening irons? The secret lies in the tourmaline plates. Tourmaline is a precious stone that heats differently then traditional metals. Tourmaline generates six times more negative ions upon heating than old style ceramic irons, which makes impossible hair styles achievable at home. It has quickly become the iron of choice for anyone looking for Jennifer Aniston sedu hair styles, or sleek, straight Jennifer Lopez sedu hair styles.Sedu Hairstyles Corpus Christi TXDifficult Hair StylesMany women who were simply not happy with their hair before have found that they can achieve a desirable hair style at home by using this straight iron. Traditionally, extremely curly hair could only be completely straightened by heavy chemicals or by frequent visits to the hair salon. Initially, the chemicals placed on the hair are strong and damage your hair. Additionally, you must keep placing chemicals on your hair to maintain the straight look. Because of the damage caused by the initial chemicals, if these maintenance chemicals are not used, your hair style will appear burnt and frizzy. The worst part is once you place the straightening chemicals in your hair it is irreversible. If you are not satisfied with the way you hair turned out, you are forced to either get use to it or add additional chemicals in you hair to fix it.This problem is solved by the Solia pink hair straightener. Using the new tourmaline technology, this product can be used on a daily basis without causing damage to your hair. The style achieved from using a tourmaline hair iron can also last up to days. The Solia pink hair straightener is a versatile, user friendly hair iron that not only allows the user to create any hair style desired, it also serves a heroic purpose. The pink color represents the pink ribbon, the symbol of the fight against breast cancer. For each pink straightener sold, Solia will donate a part of the profits towards the Susan G. Komen foundation.[...]

Lily Allen Hairstyle

2011-12-19T13:31:20.416-08:00

(image)

I once made the mistake of proclaiming Kate Nash as Lily Allen's protege, and immediate superior. I was quickly cut down by my brother ("she's good, but she's got a long way to go before she's as good as Lily"). He was right- whilst Kate Nash is alright, Lily has the makings of something great.
(image)

The way she came to fame was interesting, and it was exactly the right path to take: distancing herself from her father. Obviously, Lily has had a hard time recently (I'm not going to explain the circumstances... you do the work), and that comes across in her new demos. Its as if 'Smile' never happened. And yet, these tracks were released in much the same way- by Lily herself- and will no doubt find popularity as the plays rack up (95000 on the first day, in case you were wondering!).

(image)

As the press commonly do, they obsessed over her appearance- in particular, the blonde hair. Why? The signs are all there in her music: The summer pop has been discarded for a much darker tone. And whilst 'I Could Say' and 'I Don't Know' sound like pop songs, the subject matter is less than peachy:

(image)

"And I'll take my clothes off, and it will be shameless. 'Cause everyone knows; that's how you get famous".

Long Brunette Hairstyles

2011-12-19T13:30:40.177-08:00

(image)

True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld showed off her long and loose hairstyle during the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at LA’s Shrine Auditorium. With her bright, striped dress, Hailee Steinfeld opted for a simple hairstyle with a slight wave and minimal makeup.

(image)

You can not love short hair, though short hairstyles are hot this means that, during the thick wavy haircuts could want! And I know a lot of women do not want long hairstyles. This brunette layered hair cuts with bangs long hairstyle is a great wine for one with long hair and waves. This sexy cut good looks easy when only dried naturally or with a diffuser. You can use fingers and hands to scrunch curls.This is really a great natural hair style for girls.

Balmain 2012 Resort Collection, Amazing!

2011-09-09T13:14:55.368-07:00

Olivier Rousteing is the new designer at Balmain , he worked two years and a half as an assistant to  Christopher Decarnin. He's just 25-year-old.  Resort is the first season in which Rousteing has had control of the collection since Decarnin’s exit earlier in the year,  the looks: "Elvis in Vegas" (he has a pedigree that stretches back to working with Roberto Cavalli in Italy) is set on preserving continuity. The  quality and cut are also priorities. These clothes aren’t cheap, and while the Elvis theme doesn’t exactly scream “classy,” there is a sophistication about the slim blazers and tailored boot-cut pants which augurs well. Buyers at every table busily wrote orders.Check my favorite looks, I want them all!!the styling is sick and the collection was absolutely breathtaking! Olivier Rousteing’s first collection at the helm of Balmain is incredible!! The prints! That embroidery!!! …I know not everyone can afford it, but I just love it!![...]

MY favorite Jewelry hot list for summer 2011

2011-09-09T13:14:55.368-07:00

I love accesories, planning and completetion of the styling is complex, but also a fascinating project. To be ready for summer you must have the right accesories to do it..  love jewelry and I like it BIG! This seasson the collections and colors are amazing!! So I chose my pics of the Hottes Jewelry Trend for Summer 2011. You will see colors, big proportions and unique pieces to die for!CA&LOUTwo girlfriends and one shared passion: fashion. There’s Carolina who has worked for years as a fashion stylist and has a cosmopolitan attitude and then there’s Berérengère who has a background in merchandising and communications for large fashion companies. One day they met, got to talking and then began dreaming. And they decided that since they have the exact same sense of fashion, why couldn’t they try launching a business that reflects that?Thus CA&LOU, a line of bijoux by these two highly fashionable girls, was born. Their creations, which were launched on the market about two years ago, were suddenly seen in the shop windows of boutiques of the caliber of Colette in Paris and Browns in London, just to name a few.Their pieces are “bespoke” and are handmade, using high-end jewelry techniques for bijoux. One can select the materials, the colors and decorations based on his or her personal taste. These pieces are, above all, timeless and evoke the dream, grace and beauty of the icons they are inspired by: Coco Chanel, Lulu de la Falaise, Diana Vreeland, Bette Davis, Wallis Simpson as well as fashion icons like Alexa Chung and Kate Moss.  Chanel Spring 2011 Accessories Will Kill YOU!!! My favorite Couture Collection Fall 2012

2011-09-09T13:14:55.369-07:00

For sure the only collection this COUTURE 2011 was GIVENCHY : "Purity, lightness, fragility," was how he summed up his focus. This collection is similar to Riccardo Tisci's last collection for Givenchy Couture, inspired by birds, origami and warriors.But, I fall for the the ten angelicals looks gilded, sophisticated edge were all was white and gold. Tisci's collection was a sublimely modernist approach to haute couture, and of course he has enticed the established Givenchy atelier to experiment with brave new techniques alongside classic methods.A look in front and back of the entire impecable collection.Take a look at this heaven palette: palest beige, ivory, and white. White color reflects passion and romance at the same time. Here you can find tiny lace circle cutouts in heart shapes on the bodice of a dresses, ivory floor-length gowns of romantic chantilly lace, fragile tulle dresses with scattered pattern, beautiful high-heel sandals.A long tulle dress decorated with tiger's-eye pearls that had been inserted with crystals to catch the light and arrayed in the exact same pattern as the marks on an ostrich skin.  Embroidered with tiny silvery-gray caviar beads.  My favorite look of all and the Tisci taste for provocation. Mingling among all those high-priced embellishments were the oversize plastic zippers that have become a signature of his modern take on the traditional art of custom dressmaking. And don't forget all the flesh laid bare by his cutouts, peekaboo fringe, and tulle. Still, the exquisite technique was the big story here, pointing as it did to the continuing evolution of this designer's unique couture vision. Fall 2011 couture collection, he produced ten such dresses, shown grouped into three rooms named "tears of angels," the "cloud room," and "bird of paradise" after their respective inspirations.  Explaining his color of choice for the dresses, Tisci said: “I try to find the light in the darkness . . . His favorite dress of the collection, covered with hand-cut tulle paillettes, was inspired by his graduation project at Central St. Martins. I wish to have the money to collect all Givenchy Couture collection! All are Master pieces![...]

2011-09-09T13:14:55.373-07:00

Here was yesterdays outfit. During the summer I tend to live in maxi dresses. I have always loved them. They are just effortlessly chic and SUPER comfy! Lately though I have enjoyed layering loose sweaters on top of them to give alittle warmth on the slightly cooler Spring days. Whether you love her for being Bella, socially awkward and ever rebellious with that devil may care hair and matching attitude..... or hate her for the same...... there's no denying her make-up is always on point. Whether she is rocking the sexy smokey eye, a bold lip, or going the au la naturale route, she takes risks and pulls it off effortlessly. And her fashion choices (or should I say her stylists choices) are pretty great too. Stay tuned!XOXO![...]

Outfit {Missoni Safari}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.374-07:00

My life is a whirlwind lately! I haven't had a moment to process and go through my set photos from this week, but as soon as I do expect a sneaky peak overhaul! I'm off the work at my store now, so here is a quick post of todays ensemble. I know there hasn't been any masks as of late. I just have had no time, but I will post some soon!I don't know why but I feel like I look like I should be on Safari! The cargo jacket seems to be my cool weather staple. It just goes with everything!!! A completely score for $29 if I do say so. The romper I got last summer in Manhattan Beach at this little boutique called Katwalk. As soon as I saw it I instantly thought of Missoni (my favorite) and just had to try it on. It fit so nicely and for $35 how could I say no? So it came home with me, and has been on heavy rotation ever since!Hat - Street Vendor in Santa Monica (Last seen here)Romper - Katwalk BoutiqueJacket - H&M (Last seen here)Necklaces - Arden B and Urban OutfittersBag - Misako (Spain)Clogs - Stuart WeitzmanAll other jewelry - VintageSorry for the poor picture quality. Outfit {Lioness}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.375-07:00

Today is an exciting day for me! I will be assisting on my first ever pilot for Warner Brothers Studio!!! (A pilot is when they are pitching or airing a new tv show, they create a "pilot" episode or first episode of the season to air for the fall line up, in case you didn't know). So todays outfit had to be loose and casual enough to run around like a crazy person, but still functional. I'm very nervous and excited so wish me luck! :)The belt I'm wearing I found at Wasteland on Melrose. It's vintage and reminded me of old school Versace. Don't you think? Either way I knew I needed it in my life! Sorry the picture quality isn't so great. It's a weird day outside so the lighting wasn't the greatest. Off to my day. I must say, I'm VERY excited to get dressed up for summer!And the hat and top were scores I found at Buffalo Exchange (I guess you could call it a thrift store... though not entirely sure how "thrifty" it is... secondhand maybe)... even still, the hat was just too good to pass up and the top is by Patterson J. Mask of the Day {Finding Forrester}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.375-07:00

Today I felt like doing my make-up alittle differently. Instead of doing my liner on top and bottom, I decided to only line the top, and with a forest green liner no less. Alittle peachy pink on the lids and coral lip and I was ready for a sunny spring day (eve if it wasn't one). Sometimes we get so stuck in a normal routine when it comes to our make-up that we forget to play and try something new. After all, it is just make-up. It can easily be washed off it we dont like it.... but imagine if we DO like it! Oh the wonderful masks we could create! So I dare you to try something new today! Try that bold lip, practice your winged liner (in a colorful shade maybe), go alittle crazy and try on a bright and colorful smokey eye! The skies the limit! Mask of the Day {Randy Brandy}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.377-07:00

One of my favorite color combos lately are gold and burgundy for the eyes. Especially with light eyes. I wore this look, but darker and more intense, for a party I attended a few nights ago, however the pictures didn't quite come out right. So I decided to create the look again, but light so it would still be appropriate for me to go to work. So here was yesterdays mask.PRODUCTS USED:Face:MAC Strobe Cream with MAC Studio Finish Tinted Moisturizer in Medium Dark, MAC Prolongwear concealor in NW15, MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder in Medium, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Deep as BronzerCheeks:Chanel blush in Reflex (no longer available, but MAC Style or Peachykeen, NARS Deep Throat, or CARGO Rome are very close duplicates. Fantasy Face {Olivia Wilde}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.377-07:00

I will not lie. I have a small girl crush on Olivia Wilde. If my brushes could get their bristles on that face... oh the things that I could do! But really... her face is AMAZING for make-up, as you can see that other artists have benefited from. I actually used her layout from the December 2010 issue of Instyle as my inspiration for the South by Southwest portion of the photoshoot I did for the Two Point Oh LA Spring 2011 Lookbook (last seen here and here). And then I saw her on the cover of Cosmo this month, and decided I needed to do a post on her make-up (though its probably more just her face I'm obsessing over). So here is my ode to her, her face, and her make-up.Photos via Instyle.com, Cosmopolitan.com and other misc. sites via googleThis last picture is ridiculously gorgeous! MAC Viva Glam or Chanel Lover would be good to create that lip. God...... can I come back as her in my next life? Pretty please? Sigh. A girl can dream.Stay Tuned!XOXO[...]

My Trip - Part 2 (NY in a nutshell)

2011-09-09T13:14:55.378-07:00

For the second leg of my excursion, I ventured to the always fabulous New York! Sadly there are no real outfit or make-up posts. It was chilly and I basically lived in the same "uniform" everyday. Where most people bring their "cutest outfits", I am the COMPLETE opposite. I HATE packing and I try to bring as little as possible. I just don't trust checking baggage. Call me strange. I'm just always terrified they will loose my precious gems, so I try to carry on if at all possible.Since I had been to NY before, and got most of the site seeing out of the way, I was able to just enjoy NY and walk around and enjoy the city and partook in some window shopping. I was most excited to go just so I could see, and hopefully shop, in Topshop! But I have to say, I was actually disappointed (covering my head as the stoning begins).  Perhaps my expectations were just too high? But I know I see such amazing things on other celebrities and bloggers from there (mostly from Europe, but in the US too) and I know its meant to be a "less expensive" or "affordable" price point (when yo are comparing to designer, I guess I can see that), but I felt it was just ok, and EXTREMELY over priced for cheap fabric items!!!! I fell in love with a dress and kimono cardigan, and they were both 100% polyester (which is fine), but it was $129 for the dress and $100 for the kimono!!! Does anyone else feel that is too much? I can go to Forever 21 and get a kimono cardi that is ACTUALLY SILK and pay less than $30 for it!!! I just felt that if I was going to pay those prices, I would march over to Zara or shop in my store (Anthropologie). Is that how it is in Europe? Or is it just more expensive here do to the currency exchange and import export costs? None the less, I was very saddened. I'll be sticking to my Forever21 and H&M I think. However, Uniqlo.... LOVED THAT STORE!! Its a prepsters dream!!! I'll be back in NY for the summer, so I'll definitely be stocking up here when I go! Ok Rant over. Moving on.I also got to take in some dinners, and a play. I went to see "Driving Miss Daisy"with James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave. It was AMAZING!! To be so close, and watching two legends of that calibur was indescribable. I laughed, I cried, I was enthralled. I HIGHLY recommend it!I also walked around Wall street to visit the bull and try and steal some luck (the saying goes that if you rub the bull's horns and "twig and berries" that it will bring you luck. No joke. I saw business men do it! Those silly Wallstreeters). I had the most AMAZING Gyro from one of the food carts in the street, and visited the Prada store in Soho, and of course the Diane Von Furstenburg store in the Meatpacking District ([...]

My Trip - Part One (DC in a nutshell)

2011-09-09T13:14:55.378-07:00

I started my week excursion in Washington DC. AMAZING! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was definitely my favorite part of the trip! The city itself is just beautiful. And the architecture was a site to see. I do have to say everyone (especially if you LIVE in the US) needs to make the treck out there! It would be a shame to never see it. It is so rich with history, between the museums, monuments and historical sites, it can give you goose bumps! And Georgetown!! Ugh! I want to live there! Its so adorably cute!!!! All the brick and cobblestone. I felt like I was in Disneyland... but in a non theme park touristy way. And the shopping was divine! Not that I got to partake in it this trip.... but for the future, now I know.First stop was the Natural History Museum. I LOVE dinosaurs! So my one request was that I see the dinosaur bones. Stegosaurus is my favorite.Next was all the monuments. Washington monument, Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam and World War II Memorial, and even George Washington's house!!!As you can see, my uniform for the trip was cargos, lace-up boots, and a sweater with jacket. It was REALLY cold in DC! At least for me anyways. I can't wait to go back and visit!Stay Tuned!XOXO[...]

Outfit {Es-Cargo}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.380-07:00

Decided to head down to Santa Barbara for the day on Monday with the boyfriend and check out some of the local wineries since it was a bit of a slow week work wise. I had never been so I was very excited! We walked around the wharf and had some delectable crab cakes on the pier. Strolled through downtown and an old mission, and finally made our way to one of the wineries for some tastings. Wine tasting is one of my FAVORITE things to do. Not only because I'm a wino, but because its a great way to try new wines and learn about them. I need to find me a life sponsor so I can buy a vineyard and retire there. Making and drinking wine all day long! I swear I'm not a lush.In Downtown Santa Barbara there are so many gorgeous old buildings!! It kind of reminded me of Malaga alittle bit. And it had great boutiques! I got my House of Harlow necklace there on sale for $20!!! (seen  here).Its amazing the many things one can do for a day here in California. Definitely never boring!As for the outfit. Wanted to be comfortable so wore my blanket inspired cardigan with a t-shirt and my green skinny cargos. I'm sure you have all seen the J Brand cargos seen all over the place and on every celebrity. Well I of course loved them as well, but not the price tag! So when I saw these ones a few months ago at Forever 21 that were an EXACT knock off I knew they had to be mine. And I have LIVED in them all winter! How amazing is this saddle bag!!! I want it for a purse!Cardigan - AnthropologieTop - ZaraCargo pants - Forever 21Necklace - Gift from the Spaniard in SpainBag - Misako in SpainBooties - AnthropologieSunnies - YSLStay Tuned!XOXO[...]

Mask of the Day {POP Peacock}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.380-07:00

For todays mask I decided to add a pop of color! I'm also testing out and reviewing the POP cosmetics products I received as gratis when they sponsored my kit for a Two Point Oh LA and California Market Center look book shoot I did a few weeks ago (post seen here).I had to go to work a shoot so I didn't want to make it TOO colorful. So I kept the eyes neutral and cheeks peachy, and just added some turquoise liner to the lower lashes. Fresh and summery.As far as the POP products go, I was pleasantly impressed. The shadows are highly pigmented and last the day. Their Goddess clutches come in 3 different color palettes with 8 different shadows, a blush, highlighter and gloss. However, to my surprise, the products I was most impressed with were the basic use products (primer, concealor and mascara). They carry 2 different primers. One for the smokey eye look (the smokey eye magnet) and on for everyday in a nude color (eye magnet in airbrushed). They blended beautifully in the eye lids and weren't drying, and they help the shadows stay in place all day.Next was the No-show concealor. While I wish they had a wider range in their color scheme (they carry 3 colors - No. One, for lighter skin, No. Two, for medium tones, and No. Three for darker tones), the concealors definitely did their job well. However for really dark skin, the No. Three was still too light which is my only complaint. As far as the product itself, it comes with 2 ends. On the one end is the stick concealor. It blended very well and gave excellent coverage. I also noticed it had a tiny bit of shimmer to it which was great for deflecting light in the under eye area. The other end contained a liquid highlight with a sponge tipped applicator. I really have been enjoying using this in the inner eye corner and under eye area to bring light to my dark circles!!!!! I have also been using it in the browbone and cheekbones as a highlight. As far and using the 2 products together (mainly in the under eye area) I feel the over all look is too shimmery in person (especially in the day time) as both products contain some shimmer (though for photographs they look great together) so, for me, I use the stick portion for any skin covering (blemishes, veins, redness, ect.) and the liquid portion for the inner corners of the eye and under eye area and use my normal concealor (MAC pro-longwear concealor) on top. Makes my dark circles vanish!Lastly is the Smokey Lash Kapow mascara. I'm [...]

Outfit Post {Grey Swan}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.381-07:00

This week the boyfriend and I decided to take the metro out to Pasadena for some window shopping , on my part, and appies with some wine. Pasadena has to be one of my favorite places in California. Its just got this quirky feel to it and is so beautiful. The botanical gardens, the flea market once a month, the shopping in Olde Town. Just wonderful. We went and had wine flights and cheese and meat plates at Red, White and Bluezz and listened to the live Jazz music. It was a wonderful date night!I decided to sport the pink tu-tu for the outing. Though it was a bit too chilly to wear it with the leather BCBG vest as planned, I decided to rock the BCBG ballerina look and wore it with my blush leather jacket instead. Outfit {Balmain inspired}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.381-07:00

This is a quick outfit shot in Vegas over the weekend. Since being in Vegas I felt alittle glimmer of gold was in order. One of my favorite looks from the 2010 Fall collections was probably Balmain. Leopard, leather and brocade. Glorious.So when I saw this knock-off gem at H&M I didn't think twice! It looks divine with some leather pants (this was actually my New Years look) but I wanted to tone it down alittle to make it more day appropriate. Paired it with this awesome t-shirt I found at a boutique downtown called The Crack Gallery. The designer is a local downtowner that makes all his shirts by hand. All one of a kind! He had some great ones too! A Gucci, YSL and LOTS of Chanel inspired. This one spoke to me most. Paired it with some jeans and my suede over the knee boots and I was ready for errands and took it into the night time hours for some cocktails.Blazer - H&MTop - Crack boutiqueJeans - PaigeOver the Knee Boots - Urban OutfitterBag - ZaraSunnies - YSLNecklace - House of HarlowOther Jewelry - VintageStay Tuned!XOXO[...]

My Style 3-Way {Power Skirt}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.381-07:00

Here is the second part of the BCBG shoot. This one was based around the "power skirt" or better know as the Bandage Skirt. Though I normally wouldn't wear this as I'm not a fan of tight clothing (particularly around the mid section), this little gem does wonders! What do you think?All products used the same as last seen here My Style 3-Way Leather Pants.Exception - On Natalie (Left), used MAC Blanc Type to lighten up the taupe used to create the smokey eye earlier, MAC Cantaloupe blush to create more flush, and MAC Viva Glam V for alittle more color on the lip.Stay Tuned!XOXO[...]

My Style 3-Way {Leather Pant}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.382-07:00

Earlier this month I posted a sneaky peaky at a shoot I did for The Style Network (seen here). This was for My Style 3-way with Sydne Summer of http://www.thinkthrufashion.com/. This segment was based around the leather pant trend (mine were last seen here), and how you can wear it 3 different ways. Work, weekend and a night out. We shot at the BCBG on Robertson in the LAh, so all clothing was compliments of BCBG. Hello Lovelies! I have returned!So last night was a big night here in the downtown of wonderland. The 83rd Academy Awards! All the streets were blocked off for the fabulous after parties and Hollywood's finest were on the prowl. While sadly I was unable to watch them (I was busy wrapping a VERY long day of filming on an exciting project I can't wait to share with you, but unfortunately have no sneaky peakies of due to hush hushness), I definitely did not miss the opportunity this morning to look at the Oscar fashion!!And here are the nominees!Best Dressed - COLOR COLOR COLOR!!! Mask of the Day {Gold Member}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.383-07:00

Todays Mask consists or bronzes and gold tones. I was feeling like a smokey eye so I went for the more bronzey look. Its usually my favorite for my skin tone (so are taupes for the green peepers). Since the eyes are slightly more dramatic (and it was day time) I kept the lips lighter (used my new Chanel Petit Peche) and the cheeks coral. The only thing I would've done different was DO MY BROWS! I forgot. When you go darker on the eyes dont forget the brows too!! It helps to keep the balance.The eye shadows that were used came from the NYX Carribean Collection palette in St. Marteen. I received it as a promotion from a shoot I did awhile back. Sadly it doesn't give the names of the colors... but hopefully from the pictures you will get an idea. I also put duplicates as well that can be used in their place.Products Used:Face:MAC Strobe Cream with MAC Studio Finish Tinted Moisturizer in Medium Dark, Neutrogena Loose powder in Medium, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Deep as BronzerEyes:NYX palette - Lids - Gold color (MAC Amber Lights or Milani Sun Goddess looks like this color, there is also a L'oreal HIP), Crease - the tan color (MAC Soba is very close to this) with the dark brown in the outer 3/4 crease and in lower lash line (MAC Brun or Mystery would work, Stila Barefoot Contessa or Twig would too or the brown color in the Loreal HIP),Browbone highlight - The lightest color (MAC Vanilla or Shroom if you want shimmer, Stila Bouquet and I'm sure Bobbi Brown has some great ones too),Liner - MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack on top lidCheeks:Chanel Reflex, this is discontinued which is a crime because its so amazing!!! Good duplicates would be NARS Deep Throat or Exhibit, Cargo Rome, Chanel In Love (though this is alittle lighter) or MAC StyleLips:Cherry Chapstick (this is my trick for when I wear lighter or nudier glosses because its give the lips just a tint of color so its not so washed out) and Chanel glossimer in Petit PecheStay Tuned!!!XOXO[...]

My Style Quick switch {Army Jean}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.383-07:00

So I had shown you a little sneakies peakies back in January of a shoot I did hair and make-up for E! Entertainment and The Style Network (seen here) . It is for a segment called My Style Quick Switch with Sydne Summers of http://www.thinkthrufashion.com/. If you haven't been on her blog you should definitely check it out. She gives great styling advice! This weeks episode was taking the army jean trend from day to night. The pants used in this are the J Brand Agnes pants which I wanted before (we have them at my store)... but after this I DESPERATELY want them in my life! Outfit {Hi ho, hi ho}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.384-07:00

Has been a crazy busy weekend so haven't been able to upload much in the form of work and make-up, but here is an outfit post for today!Life as a make-up artist isn't always the most profitable of professions. Especially when you are starting out (or in my case, starting over again). There is alot of down time and sometimes you have to work for free to get your work (and self) out there. So in the interrim we have the part-time job in retail. You may notice alot of my oufits are slightly Anthropologie inspired. Well, that's because I work there and the store has slowly dominated my closet (there could be worse problems in life through, right?). Todays post is a quick snap shot before heading off to my store. I have been inspired (and pumped) for the return of the hippie flares and wider trouser styles as seen in many of the Spring Resort wear collections. They have always just suited my style (and frame) better than the skinnies. Though I do adore my skinnies and thigh boots ensembles....... I say there is room for everyone!Jacket - H&MTop (under jacket) - BCBGBelt - Linea PelleEarrings - Francesca's CollectionsOther jewelry - VintageJeans - Seven for all mankindShoes - AnthropologieBag - Zara (it strikes again)I think I might have to rename this blog the Magik Window since that seems to be where all my pictures are from! Hopefully we'll resume scenic outfit posts soon.Stay Tuned!XOXO[...]

Take Me to the Resort!

2011-09-09T13:14:55.384-07:00

Today was an exhaustingly long work day and it was raining cats and dogs to boot! All this nasty weather has me reflecting back to the Spring Resort collections. Here are some of my faves that I would LOVE to have as an addition to the wardrobe!!!While nothing here is ground breaking (I'm sure you have seen all this before as it has been around for a bit), I just wanted to stare at some pretty pictures for the evening to take my mind off my achy feet and soaked clothes... bring back the sun!Alexander McQueen.Balmain.Catherine Malandrino. Chloe. Though I would never classify myself as a minimalist in dress. I definitely am finding myself leaning towards simplicity these days. There's something beautiful about a clean look. And if my wardrobe could look like this then I DEFINITELY could embrace minimalism! Just stunning.Chanel.... bright colors, Chanel tweed and hippie inspired.... glorious!All photos via elle.comEmilio Pucci... yes yes and YES!!!! I need this all in my life And last but not least... Burberry. This is amazement beyond words. I really believe their new mantra is "go hard or go home bitches" because they have been killin it. Just sayin.                                                                                                                                                                                            Now that I have spent all my fantasy money, I am going to go slurp down some Vino.Sneakies Peakies post tomorrow!Stay Tuned!XOXO[...]

Outfit {Leopard, leather and Fringe OH MY!}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.384-07:00

I'm still fending for myself, hence the blurry photos. I swear my camera really does hate me. It's declared mutiny. This is war.None the less, I would not tolerate it's insolence and forced it to take photos yesterday. Hopefully you can get the idea. In case you didn't notice from my current lusting post (last seen here) I have a love for animal print... particularly leopard print. To me they are neutrals and go with everything! So basically I have been living in leopard and leather this season, and this Zara top (a gift from my ever generous and stylish Ma-mah) has been in constant rotation. I have worn it with everything from my black leather shorts and pants, to my jeans and boots, to recently my white pants for a lighter springy look. Next attempt will be with my army green cargo pants or jacket. What say you?The bag in the post is one of my favorites and sadly.... later in the day the clasp broke on it! It was a sad day indeed. I'm hoping the shoe repair can mend it, but if not then this is a memorial post of sorts. RIP purse. You will be missed.Necklace - BCBGBlouse - ZaraJeans - PaigeThigh high boots - Sam EdelmanBag - UnknownStay Tuned!XOXO![...]

2011-09-09T13:14:55.385-07:00

Please excuse the awkward angles and blur of the pictures. I had to fend for myself since my "Photographer" (aka The Boyfriend) deserted me. Here is today's outfit. I was feeling alittle more hippie inspired (must be all the Free People look books I keep oogling) I was drawn to a lighter more colorful palette to beat rainy day blahs. The dress and bag are from last winter and the boots (which are amazing let me tell you) are from my adventures in Madrid a couple years ago for my little Spaniard's wedding (one of my besties and she is a fashion inspiration as well, let me tell you!). Mask of the Day {Red, Red Wine}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.386-07:00

Today I'm doing a quick Valentine's Day look. I ADORE red lips. There is something so glamorous about it. And I dont care what anyone says... ANYONE can wear a red lip! You just need to find one that suits your coloring. If you are very olive toned (meaning you have a slightly green tone to your skin, think Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek) look for an orange based one (MAC Russian Red and Ruby Woo are good), if you are pinker undertoned (think Amy Adams, Claire Danes and Anne Hathaway) go for a blue based one (MAC MAC Red is perfect). And if you are a red head (yes, you can wear red... I was one for 2 years and I rocked it) do MAC Viva Glam 1. Its red, but its more a bordeaux red and it just looks so pretty. Wear it with MAC Brick lipliner. You wont be sorry. And if you are darker skinned stick with blue-based as well, try MAC Lady Bug and Russian Red. Though Ruby Woo is more orange-based, I have used this quite alot on darker tones and its also been quite pretty.  And golden toned girls (like myself, where your skin is very yellow based) are lucky in the sense that you can wear any red, it just is more whatever you prefer.I'm an evil temptress today and wearing a lip that is sadly discontinued, typical, but It's my FAVORITE! I'm currently on the hunt to find its duplicate, so when I do I will definitely share! I wasn't able to take a picture of the products (please forgive me, it's been a busy day work wise), but with exception of the lips, all other products are the standards I have used in other posts. Be warned. Its alittle picture heavy. I just loved the look so I liked alot of the pictures.For funProducts Used:Face:MAC Strobe cream with MAC Studio Finish Tinted Moisturizer in Medium Dark, Neutrogena Loose Powder in Medium, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish pressed in Medium Deep as bronzerCheeks:Wanted to keep it very clean, so no blush. Weekend Haulage

2011-09-09T13:14:55.386-07:00

Though I have been on a bit of a shopping ban due to lack of shopping fundage (life as an artist isn't always a profitable one... I need a life sponsor. Any Takers?) I haven't been able to do much on the shopping front. However this weekend (partly due from guilt in leaving me, partly maybe in the spirit of Valentine's) The Boyfriend said to set aside set ban and do alittle indulging. Granted most of it was do to profit made in selling clothes to second hand consignment, but Hey... whatever works! The shopping must go on!First on the list was this lovely pink Tu-tu from Forever21. I have been lusting over the ballerina trend ever since I saw this BCBG add campaign and also saw the lovely Sydne Summers of http://www.thinkthrufashion.com/ style it at a BCBG private event around the holidays.Love BCBG, but the price tag just wasn't in the budget. Especially for a tu-tu. So when I saw this lovely gem at the Forever21 in Glendale I just knew it needed to come home with me!Next we have this lovely patterned blouse from Anthropologie. I had been lusting over it for a bit and when it went on sale I decided it needed to be a new addition to the closet.Also purchased the loverly Chanel glossimer in Petit Peche. SUCH a pretty nude. It was a limited gloss so when I saw that the Macy's near me still had it I snatched it right up!And last but not least I got this FABULOUS leather BCBG vest (which looks smashing with my little tu-tu) and Manoush sack dress via Wasteland (the dress is actually too big for me, a medium, but its pretty short so I kinda like the over-sizedness of it all, as the guy in the dressing room said, very Mary-Kate). I'm not sure if this store exists outside of Cali, but if you are ever here you really MUST go! Its like a Buffalo Exchange where its a second hand store. You can purchase and/or sell your clothes there (which is what I did so I could acquire thes[...]

Mask of the Day {Orange Julius}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.387-07:00

Here is a quick Mask before I headed out the door. Excuse the weird eyes. I seem to be having an allergic reaction to something so they have been a bit on the puffy side which in turn makes me look like an alien. Here I decided to keep the eyes simple and focus on the lips. I used the other Revlon lipgloss I purchased last month in the coral color. I'm definitely ready for Spring now!Products used:Face:MAC Strobe cream mixed with MAC Studio Finish tinted moisturizer in Medium Dark, Neutrogena loose powder in Medium, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish pressed in Medium Deep as BronzerEyes:Lid- Stila Sun, Crease - Stila Twig (mostly on the outer 3/4 of the crease), Browbone - Stila Starlight (lightly)Liner - Top lid MAC Blacktrack fluidline, bottom waterline MAC Teddy Kohl liner, Mascara - Loreal Lashout and MAC FalselashCheeks:MAC Beauty Powder loose in Natural Flare (limited edition but if you have a Pro store near you check out their Beauty powders! Since I have a tendency to buy and fall in love with limited edition products (Its my curse. I'm a gluten for punishment) I have decided to add pictures of the products and swatches as well. That way you can see what the color looks like and realize you may just have a magically similar product at home! I do my best to give you options as far as other products, but sometimes I'm not always aware of what might be a duplicate, so please share if you do!! :)Hopefully you found that helpful!Stay Tuned!XOXO[...]

Outfit {lazy daze}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.387-07:00

Monday I had one of those perfect days. No work or looming deadlines over head. Beautiful weather. And the boyfriend free from work and school type duties. So we decided to take a stroll through the downtown for some site seeing. We took the Angel's flight up the hill, walked through the Grand Central market, and ventured down to China Town for some delectable cuisine. All in all a perfect day.Jacket - AnthropologieDress - Plenty by Tracy ReeseBelt - Linea PelleScarf - French ConnectionJewelry - VintageBelt - Vintage Ralph LaurenSunnies - Yves St. LaurentBag - ZaraBoots - Jeffrey CampbellStay Tuned!XOXO[...]

Spring Inspired

2011-09-09T13:14:55.387-07:00

The weather has reverted back to feeling like Spring in the land of the "LAh", I can't help but daydream about Spring inspired fancies. Florals and sheer draperies and bright colors OH MY! It must have been the Santa Ana teaser that has me in a fever. She's a wily temptress that one.These taunts are from the Free People lookbook. How amazing are the Paris shots! So chic! I need every single one of them in my life!!! My inner hippie rejoices!So the last 2 are actually from the Anthropologie catalog, but amazing none the less. The make-up in that catalog was quite beautiful as well. BRAVA ANTHRO! Stay Tuned!XOXO[...]

Outfit {Brick, Mortar and Fur)

2011-09-09T13:14:55.388-07:00

I think I felt inspired after my shoot the other day with all the fabulous leather pant looks! All I have wanted to do since is live in them. Was on my way out to dinner yesterday to this delicious German Brawt house in the Downtown (Wurtskutch... think that's how it's spelt) and then off for drinks in the Gallery Bar at the Millennium Biltmore. If you love old buildings and architecture you should check it out.Though I tend to have a flare for brights and prints, lately I find myself trying to incorporate more minimal styles and classics in the wardrobe. They are a nice balance for my more outlandish items. Today I felt like going alittle edgier than usual, with the leather pants and lace up wedges, but threw in a loose silk tunic and faux fur vest to keep it from being too hard. And how great is the bag! I do adore it.Faux Fur Vest - H & MBlouse - AnthropologieFaux Leather Pants - Forever21Bracelet and rings - VintageWedges - JoieBag - ZaraI was feeling a bit whimsical yesterday. Mask of the Day {Purple Haze}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.388-07:00

Now that the weather in Wonderland has reverted back to a chill, I notice the wardrobe has also taken a turn to the dark side. I'm usually a person fond of color but in winter I seem to steer toward predominately black, grey and beige with a flair for the edgier styling. Not sure why. Perhaps the chilly weather brings a chilly mood? I opted for a smokey eye for the day but as opposed to the typical black, charcoal or brown smokey, I decided to add some pazzaz and color to the mix and went for a purple instead. Purple, on the color wheel, is opposite green (which is the color of my peepers in case you hadn't noticed) therefore making it a complimentary color. So if you have green eyes (or ever blue or light hazel) definitely keep purple in your bag of tricks. It can be quite lovely.Products used:Face:MAC Strobe Cream wth MAC Studio Finish Moisture Tint in Medium Dark, Neutrogena loose powder in Medium, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish pressed in Medium Deep (as bronzer)Cheeks:MAC mineralize blush in Dainty (very light in photo but in person its a pretty light pinky peach with lots of shimmer)Eyes:Lid - MAC A Wish Come True (not sure if this is still available but Urban Decay Sin might work)Crease - MAC Semi-Precious (if not available try MAC Sketch) with MAC pigment in Bloodline in the outer 3/4 area to deepen, also took Bloodline and smudged in lower lashlineBrowbone- MAC Vanilla (shadow NOT pigment)Brows - MAC OmegaLiner - MAC Raven kohl liner (discontinued but a black liner with MAC sketch on top can give same effect) and MAC Teddy kohl in waterlineLips:MAC Gingerroot liner (want to cry because its been discontinued!!! Outfit {City of Industry}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.389-07:00

Last weekend, before it became a normal winter again, the boyfriend and I decided to take a stroll around downtown. One of the things I love about downtown is all the old buildings in the "Old Historic Banking District". Being from Vegas I have never been able to have an appreciation for that. We tend to tear down old buildings and hotels, and erect new and improved versions in their there place. Where here I LIVE in a building dating back to the 20's and many more are older than that! I feel there is something romantic in it. I try to envisions the crowds and people here way back when. A life of glamour maybe. Old Hollywood's finest. So I decided to take my recently acquired Anna Sui dress for a stroll. I paired it with my also newly acquired vintage belt! It was the boyfriend's mom's belt, but no longer fit so it magically made it's way to my humble closet. Oh the joy. It just felt so right together with the dress.Dress - Anna Sui for AnthropologieBelt - vintage Ralph Lauren Jewelry - vintageBoots - Aldo (very old)Bag - vintage Dooney and BurkeIf I look awkward in the pictures, it's because I was! XOXO, Gossip Girl

2011-09-09T13:14:55.389-07:00

Today is fashion OVERLOAD! You have been warned.I will admit, my guilty pleasures in life are in my tv shows. Gossip Girl being one of them. Last week was the long awaited return of all new episodes! I won't lie, the biggest reason I watch is for the fashion. Wardrobe stylist Eric Daman is a genius! I would give up my first born for the wardrobe on the show (and for Eric to be my new bestie and style me at will!)Here is a collage of all the fabulous fashion to look forward to this season! My Ode to the Upper East Side.                                         And here are a few of my favorites so far this season. I'm in a Spring state of mind. Can ya tell?Oh the things I would do for this DVF dress! My favorite so far!I'm a sucker for prints and a boho at heart so Jessica Zhor's character's style is my favorite.She's wearing my clogs! :)How great is her Pendleton jacket!!!And I'm spent! Stay Tuned!XOXO[...]

Mask of the Day {Pink Pop}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.390-07:00

As the heat wave continues in the land of the "LAh", it's hard not to be Spring and Summer inspired. However, it is still only January, and I just can't bring myself to pull out the summer dresses and sandals. It's just not natural. So instead, in an attempt to be brighter and pull myself out of my neutrals rut, I have instead done a Spring inspired make-up look. I'm loving all the coral and fuschia cheekies and lippies! SO fresh and vibrant. If this were a shoot I would have probably kept the eyes simple. A wash of shimmer (MAC Naked Lunch comes to mind) with lots of lashes, A creme pink blush to keep it dewy and a pop of pink on the lips. BUT.... since this isn't a shoot, and is something that needs to last the day (not to mention with the humidity here my skin has become super oily so cream blush wouldn't be the smartest idea), I did more of a twist on a "classic" look.I had just purchased two new glosses by Revlon (Pink Pop and Coral Reef). They were the exact colors of what was being sent down the runway this season. So Today I chose the pink one. In the pictures Pink Pop had more of a lilac undertone however in person it was more of a hot pink. I used a liner to define the lips alittle more for the pictures, but I think it wasn't pink enough and maybe that's why it has a more purple tone. I Loved it though!The lighting isn't ideal. I didn't have time to take pictures before going to my store, and didn't get off till after the sun went down, but hopefully you get the idea.Products Used:Face: MAC Strobe cream with MAC Studio Moisture tint in Medium Dark (it's there version of a tinted moisturizer), [...]

Bagels and Brushes

2011-09-09T13:14:55.390-07:00

Before the holidays I got the opportunity to work with Mikaela. A gorgeous model (doesn't she look like Halle Berry! I'm SOOO jealous) and up and coming recording artist. The shoot was for publicity shots and potential album shots. The photographer on the shoot was the very talented Matt Verzola. It was an awesome shoot full of music, sweets and Hennessey! Yes. I have one of the few jobs that allows you to drink while working..... though I usually stay away or the eyeliner will end up in the brows and the lipliner in the nose. Just sayin. And the clothing was amazing! Almost all was Betsy Johnson! I'm dying for the green dress with the guns on it! With my leather pants..... GORGEOUS! Don't mind me in the picture. I had to close my store the night before, so that is the result of 4 hours of sleep, no make-up and putting on whatever happened to be on the floor at the time..... don't even think I brushed my hair. Outfit {Sunday, Bloody Sunday}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.391-07:00

Yesterday was one of those lazy day Sundays. Didn't have to work. Didn't have anything that needed to be done. Glorious. So the boyfriend and I decided to head down to Manhattan Beach for the day. I have come to the decision that California doesn't have a winter. Where else can you go bare legged to the beach in the dead of winter!!! I LOVE IT! Usually my style of dress tends to be on the girly side with a slight boho flair, but I feel when you are on the beaches of California not only is loose and casual necessary but it's just expected. So I opted for a jumper, cardi, sandals and a hat, to protect from the UV rays... no wrinkles for me thank you! The jumper is from LF (in Manhatan beach as a matter of fact) which I acquired at an end of summer sale. It was RIDICULOUSLY marked down and I just loved the over-sized 80's style print. Although I think my dryer ate half of it because I SWEAR there was more to it.After a good frolick on the beach we ate at this yummy little Greek restaurant and later went on a date to the movies. Saw The Fighter. It was SUPERB! The acting was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Christian Bale was very deserving of his Golden Globe win. He was scary good!All in all, a delightful Sunday!                             Hat: Random street vendor Necklace: Chico's Jumper: LF Manhattan BeachCardigan: H&MRings & Bracelet: vintageBag: vintage Dooney & Burke (stolen from Mom's closet)Sandals: Steve MaddenStay Tuned!XOXO[...]

Testing {MAC False Lash Mascara}

2011-09-09T13:14:55.391-07:00

I am a self professed beauty junkie. I will try just about anything. But the product I love most of all is MASCARA!! I'm a lash girl. Always have been. Always will be. If I were stuck on a deserted island I would have my eyelash curler, mascara and chapstick on hand. My skin would be weathered, but my lashes would be fabulous! I blame my mother. One day when I was probably 11, while we were up in Zion National Park, she took it upon herself to attack me with her lash curler and mascara. Just for fun. At first it felt awkward. I told her my eyes looked like spiders, and that I could feel them hitting my lids. But... as the day wore on I got used to this strange new sensation, and realized I quite enjoyed having spiders for eyeballs. Needless to say, I was hooked. Out went the tom-boy, and in came the girlie future make-up junkie. Another one bit the dust.For todays trial I am testing out the new MAC False Lash Mascara.Photo via maccosmetics.comNow..... I'm STILL in search of my one "wonder" mascara that can do ALL I require, but until that day, I actually use two different mascaras. Due to my eyelashes being stick straight, I use a waterproof mascara as my base (L'oreal Lash Out Mascara) to hold the curl, and then I do a second coat of MAC Plushlash mascara. It gives me the perfect curly, fringey lashes.So when I went to MAC to purchase another tube, the artist there told me I really should try the new False Lash mascara. It is supposed to curl and thicken all in one giving you the "false lash" look. So I figured why not.Well. First [...]

Vintage Score!

2011-09-09T13:14:55.391-07:00

Here in the downtown of LA we have a special event called "The Art Walk". This occurs every second Thursday of the month, and all the restaurants set up shop on the side walks, with all the boutiques, and the normally vacant buildings come alive with sellers of jewels, baubles, art and VINTAGE! So... due to the boyfriend wanting to check out a deserted building, that any other day would be closed, we ventured in. Low and behold it was all vintage sellers! Not planning on doing any shopping that evening I ran into this.....AMAZING! Not only was it in GREAT condition (there was a few bleeds in the back from the red running onto white from what looks like washing) but it was completely chic! I imagined it living a life of glamor and prestige. Very Jackie Kennedy. So I dared to ask what a beauty like this was fetching (I figured in the upper figures since it was dated back to the 50's, so said the seller.) and when I heard the price I was told my jaw dropped, and I looked like I was about to faint.... $20!!!!! Can you believe it!!!!! Without hesitation the wallet was whipped and the woman was paid. I wasn't entirely sure that the era was correct, so I did a bit of investigating and sure enough the label was that of a early 50's brand sold at Sears in New York! There was a swell of pride. I won't lie.Also scored this...OK, OK.... so it's not vintage. But it looks so 1930's don't you think? It's Anna Sui (from Anthropologie) but it was meant to be mine! I had seen it last summer but[...]

Life's a Beach

2011-09-09T13:14:55.392-07:00

A few months back I had the opportunity to work on a jewelry look book shoot, doing make-up, hair and body bronzing, with the lovely blogger and photographer Kelsi of Dedicated Follower of Fashion http://www.dedicated-follower.com. Though it did not end all that fabulously for her, some gorgeous pictures were produced from the en-devour. I got to spend the entire day on the beaches of Malibu playing in sand and sea and powder puffing a gorgeous model. Yes. This is my job.... some of the time anyways. Ha. Here are some behind the scenes and final product of our labors. (Do to legalities, the pictures must be watermarked).Products used:Face: A schmorgasborg of product! I combined MAC Strobe cream with MAC Face and Body foundation and MAC Bronze FX hyper Real. Then Finished with a sheer powder in T-zone areas and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Deep and Shooting Star (limited edition) for BronzingCheeks: I think I used a combination of MAC Sunbasque blush and One of their peachy loose beauty powders for highlight. If you haven't tried them you should! Amazing.Eyes: I used Stila Sun on the lid, Twig in the crease, MAC Brule in the browbone and MAC Dazzlelight on the tear ducts in the inner corner of the eye. For liner I only lined the top lid and I used MAC Fluidline in Dipdown (which is a shimmery reddish brown) to give alittle shimmer and a thinner line of MAC Dipdown (a matte dark brown) on top for alittle more depth and dimension. And my favorite mascara Loreal Lash[...]

The Golden Globes

2011-09-09T13:14:55.392-07:00

On this Glorious night the downtown of LA was buzzing. Now one would think that I would have gotten my little camera out and tried my hand at snapping a celeb or 2 (Jake Gyllenhaal in particular... SWOON!), but I didn't. Why you ask? Simple. I'm lazy..... and was working, but here is my take of the red carpet. Here are the nominees..... I'm so happy the ladies decided to do color! I LOVE me some color... in both make-up and clothing. As far as my make-up picks go they are simply products that have been tried and tested for me. There are MANY others out there as well so play play play. Everything roses... or not so much.My lady love Natalie.... while I have to say I was NOT a fan of the Victor + Rolf dress, I was a fan of her make up! Classic clean eyes, flawless skin with a subtle flush of the cheeks (MAC Dainty, NARS Madly or Amour or Chanel Rose Petal are great!) and a pop of color on the lips. MAC Rebel looks similar but with more color or Chanel glossimers in Summer Plum or Imaginaire work. A great idea for going into Spring.photo via nydailytimes.comNext up we have Olivia.... That dress is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, but THE SHOES!!!!!! UGH! Carrie Bradshaw would be proud. Can I add those to my wish list? Marchesa was on a roll and Christian isn't far behind.photo via nydailytimes.comTaste the rainbow.Kyra Sedgwick... I LOVE the color of that dress. Good Lord! And the turquoise earrings! A girl after my own heart rocking the turquoise. And her make-up was a perfect pairing f[...]

Though it has been a long and nagging thought, I have finally done it! My blog is born! It's more of a diary or social experiment, if you will, of trying to "Make it in Hollywood". Will it end tragic or will it be a success? Who knows. But above all I hope you enjoy my many adventures in the life as a make-up artist and fashion enthusiast in Wonderland.Stay tuned![...]

Looks I love in the 2011 Golden Globe

2011-09-09T13:14:55.392-07:00

The sexiest Hollywood stars sizzled at 2011 Golden Globe Awards on January 16 held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Bright red, eye-popping green, dark black and neutral shades dominated the red carpet as beautiful ladies slipped into many alluring colored gowns from some of the top designers.Check out my 2011 Golden Globe Awards red carpet fashion and best dressed celebrity:Hollywood star, Angelina Jolie, who was last seen wearing lots of black dresses for The Tourist red carpet, opted for a green color for this awards night. She was looking gorgeous in a glitzy emerald green long sleeve gown by Versace Atelier. This time too, Angie walked the red carpet with her partner Brad Pitt.  My favorite:  American actress, Anne Hathaway showed off her slim and fit figure in a tight embellished gown from Armani Prive Fall 2010 collection. She finished off her look with a gold clutch and chic wavy hairstyle.Emma Stone wore a Calvin Klein collection peach dress and Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry for the red carpet. She also wore a pair of Ferragamo nude python peep toe pumps.Brad Pitt accompanied Angelina on the red carpet while wearing a Tom Ford tux. He definitely looks hot, hot, hot in this tuxedo, love the look!!    Jake Gyllaanal chose to wear a Burberry tuxedo for the night which he paired with Ferragamo black leather lace up shoes. Jake looked very handsome on the red carpe[...]
