To the editor: Danny Brown deserves true justice

Fri, 23 Feb 2018 22:00:00 GMT

After reading The Blade’s recent article about the dismissal of Danny Brown’s wrongful imprisonment lawsuit (Feb. 9, “Man’s wrongful-imprisonment lawsuit dismissed”), I have one question: What is wrong with our judicial system? "Danny Brown was wrongfully incarcerated and served 19 years in prison — he has a right to be compensated."

Golf cart fees are reasonable

Fri, 23 Feb 2018 22:30:00 GMT

An Ottawa County judge has dismissed fines against a Put-in-Bay golf cart rental business, throwing out the $50 fee the village imposes for each rental cart — even though an appeals court for Ottawa County has already rejected the same complaint. He should have left it alone, or at least let the complaining party appeal it to the higher courts. Golf carts line Delaware Avenue, a popular street lined with bars and restaurants September 28, 2013 at Put-In-Bay on South Bass Island.

Proposed U.S. 20A interchange sparks questions at information session

Fri, 23 Feb 2018 00:56:32 GMT

If Kelly Brown had her way, the Ohio Department of Transportation would start building a planned U.S. 20A interchange on I-475/U.S. 23 next month — if not next week. Vehicles make their way through the 'diverging diamond' set up during construction of the State Rt. 25 interchange in Perrysburg near I-475/U.S. 23. ODOT told attendees of an informational session Thursday the same setup could be used during construction of a similar interchange at U.S. 20.
