I must congratulate all you daring bakers for making the opera cake. I think this was a very difficult challenge which scares me to death. That's why I am still scared to participate :) but I am really tempted to try it one of these days. Lovely idea to use the scraps in ice cream, I did that as well a few days ago with my leftover cake for the Joust. P.S. I visited a couple of times but could not see your recipes.

Your flavor combo is making me drool...such cute little cakes! Great idea to use the scraps in ice cream. I threw mine in the freezer, now I know what to do with them!!

Totally fab! I made my own almond meal, too, and I liked the texture my joconde had. Awesome flavors, too - you did a great job!

I love the scraps as ice cream, especially with the coconut added.

Thank you... there's a bowl full of leftover joconde on my kitchen island. Now I know how I'm going to use it.

Gotta tell ya!! It was DREAMY. I was lucky to eat some of these little gems and they were as good as they look. Don't know that I would have the patience anymore to do all of that, but I was glad to be on the receiving end.

Congrats on your marriage! The cake looks wonderful...and that ice cream, I'm sure it's fantastic! What a great idea.

That is such an impressive dessert. I love dulce de leche! Isn't it too hot to bake in Florida?
